Tuesday Bluesday

Dreary and stormy here again today. I love these kinds of days but only when i'm home alone napping or reading. What's up with everyone?

I'm just grinding at work.  One of my good friends and I went out for drinks last night and ended up splitting a bottle of champagne.  We had fun, but I definitely felt it this morning getting up.  Counting down the days until the cat is delivered.  Nothing much else going on.

ETA:  Hahahahaha.  2 of my library holds came in: Salad as a main meal (I'm struggling with eating, so have been doing a lot of cold food stuffs) and Fat Ham (it's a re-telling of Hamlet through the lens of a modern queer black man dealing with his family).  But Salads and Fat Ham has to be making some people **head tilt**
  • I'm having lunch with a work friend today so that should be fun. H is golfing tonight, weather pending, so i'll be alone with the wild men. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly!
  • Yup, same weather here. It was hard to get out of bed.

Mostly SSDD. The AC has been broken at work since yesterday and it's just so freaking hot in here.
  • I wish we had a broken a/c lol @climbingsingle, not really because I know what the opposite of freezing is.
Glad you had fun @VarunaTT, despite what you’re feeling today.

dreary here too.  Would be the perfect day to mow. But I don’t wanna.  I also have to wait for my pest control to get here about my ant issue, so maybe being in the backyard mowing isn’t the best idea incase I miss them.
Colorstreet came out with their fall line today, and it was completely underwhelming.  No design stands out to me. Which is fine.  I probably have a years’ left of nail strips anyway. Plus, Halloween should be around the corner and I know I’ll go hog wild then!

  • It's overcast, but no rain here.  I woke up in a horrible mood this morning and was snappy with DH.  He was frustrated with me but ended up coming home from the gym with flowers and candy and wanted to know what was up.  I guess I'll keep him.

I did wake up with my period this morning, but I think my overarching issue is that I have a mammogram tomorrow and I don't handle medical stuff well.  My medical anxiety is really, really bad and I struggle a lot when I have appts on the calendar.  I'm doing better because I'm not paralyzed by scheduling and going to said appts any longer, but I still get quite disregulated as the date approaches.  Meh.

SSDD otherwise.  Just really glad I have, like, one meeting this week.  I need the mental break and also to get to my ever-growing to-do list. Tuesday.  Blerg.
  • Yuck @mrsconn23! Call the screening place and ask if you should still go if you’re on your cycle? Some places would recommend a reschedule, from what I heard/read.

I've heard that, but they never said anything when I booked it.  I guess worst case (outside of the worst-worst case), I'll have to go back for a follow-up or they'll make me reschedule.  But I'm just going to go.  I have to get one before they'll replace my IUD next month and I just need get it done and over with, ha.

Yeah I think it has to do with tenderness more than anything, so it’s just a “better for your comfort” thing.  Good luck!

  • Extremely hot here in Houston. Work is quiet for the moment but bound to pick up soon. On Friday I start a ten day vacation that ends with my cousin's wedding.
  • Unfortunately, I'm feeling really crappy.  I've been developing a cold the last few days and it hit full force yesterday.  My nose keeps running and I have a slight headache.  I'm achy and extra tired.  So weird!  It's the wrong time of year for a cold.  Nobody I know or work with seems sick.  Plus, I have an especially strong immune system and rarely get sick from contagious type illnesses.

The IT problems never end and now it has expanded out to my direct employer (I work on the client's network).  I went to fill out my online timesheet and my login isn't working anymore.  I am one of a few this has happened to over the last couple days.  Because of course I am, smh.  It's something awry with my computer...which is the client's computer...so now I'm waiting for their local IT person to help me.

I'm supposed to turn my timesheet in, in about 45 minutes.  But it takes me about 30 minutes to fill out, so that isn't happening.  It's just especially frustrating these multiple IT nightmares are happening, with the client and my employer, over the same few days.

You know on cartoons when someone is mad and there is a dial that shows up above their head with the arrow stretched into the red zone and past the last notch?  That is my aggravation level with computer problems right now, lol.

It’s a great time of year to get Covid though
  • @STARMOON44, I guess it wouldn't hurt to test for COVID this evening.  I have a bunch of those tests at home that I think expire this year anyway.  However, it feels exactly like a cold.  Plus the only time I had COVID, my blood glucose went completely out of control for about a week.  But it's been fine.

  • This morning the weather was yuck but the afternoon was beautiful. The twins had their first day of soccer. I love 5 year old soccer. They just worked on some foot stuff and lots of running. When we got back to DD's the boys and the dog ran full tilt in the back yard (It is fenced while ours isn't). The dog loves it because he doesn't need to be on a leash. Lets just say there is one 4 legged and 3 two legged boys exhausted this evening. Tomorrow DD and SIL go to kindergarten orientation with the twins while H and I stay home with the toddler. Hard to believe kindergarten starts in a week.
