Ehh I figure I'm about to get banned from that board for my last post anyway.

I used to frequent that board because I'm planning our Catholic wedding, and with FI and I deployed all the time, he can't always answer my questions.

Now, after all that, I'm afraid I'll burst into flames if I walk into the church. And that would be a shame, because my dress is really beautiful.

I'm still confused as to how giving a child to a couple who is willing to pay copious amounts of money and make countless sacrifices in order to have a child they can love and nurture is more degrading to human life than a drug addict that doesn't understand birth control popping out 5 kids she has no interest in taking care of.

I also loved the line about how it wasn't her opinion, she was just blathering out church teachings. Personally, I like to think for myself every now and then.

It's really a shame because I was asking really valid questions that had we been talking face to face, would have gotten answered.

You notice that once the discussion really got heated, that she was the only one left standing? Her buddies totally ditched her. She barely made it out of there alive.

And she still had no clue where all this backlash came from, that was the best part!

I honestly had no clue until, I think it was Heels or Lala that pointed it out, that there were people that were seriously opposed to fertility treatments.

Confession:  I kind of understand the "it's not natural" argument.  I had always believed that in the event that I couldn't have kids, it was because I my body was saying that I wasn't meant to have them, and I would adopt.  However, I would not judge someone who used IVF to try to have a child, especially knowing how many of my friends have fertility issues.

Just seen your post on CW. I don't know anyone going IVF  and don't know too much information about it. I can only imagine what that is like and what you have been through TTC naturally and being unsuccessful. I wish all the best and I hope you are successful with IVF.

I just ventured over there to read that thread...and oh my.  I did enjoy how all the others ditched the one girl left standing, even though she didn't have much to stand on.  I certainly respect their opinion, even if I don't agree with it, but they were using some nasty language. 

I was raised to think that God loves all his children, no matter what, and some things that they were saying over there just made my head spin.  I especially loved what kcullen had to say, and was kind of surprised that no one responded to it.

But you're not an asshole about it. There's a big difference. I actually used to feel the same way when I was younger, but when the doctor tells you that you most likely won't have children without assistance, things change.
