How's everyone? A calmer start to my day, I'll take it. Nothing out of the ordinary happening at work and just counseling for DD and tae Kwon do after work, so a relatively unbusy evening. Wishing everyone a good day!
I've been feeling out of sorts and need to get out of my funk. But this morning did not help. I got up at 3:30 to use the bathroom and couldn't get back to sleep! I totally got up about an hour later and played on my computer. Finally felt a little tired and went back to bed at 5:30 but was only lightly napping until I got up an hour later.
I'm going to take a nap at lunch time, but that is a long time away. Plus it is an in-office day so it will be a mildly uncomfortable "using my folded arms as pillow on my desk" nap, lol.
Our dog Izzy is getting pretty old. She's had cataracts for awhile, but can still see somewhat. In her younger days, she loved to chase her Chuck-It ball for hours. But then she couldn't see it in the grass anymore, so we started throwing it down the side of our house which is concrete. That was working for a good while, but now she's having trouble seeing it again (sniff, sniff). We decided last night to get her an outside stuffy, since those are bigger than a ball.
I looked up what colors dogs can see the best. They are yellow and blue. I found a great Stegosaurus shaped stuffy on Amazon that is bright yellow with blue accents. I hope she can find it easier and we can continue our outside game. It's always been her favorite thing to do.
We already play fetch with her inside with one of her stuffies and she's still doing great with the inside version. Though it seems more like she can hear where the stuffy lands than actually see it.
Went to bed earlier than normal last night and was sleeping SO hard when G woke me up, then N came in a little after that and H scooped him up to snuggle with us (I'm assuming he thought it was almost wake-up time, we don't usually let them sleep with us). But needless to say, I didn't actually sleep much between 2 and 5 because cute little feet kept kicking me. Dragging today for sure.
Good Morning! I had to go into the office yesterday for a work luncheon and worked at a drop in space. It reminded me how much I like working from home. It would be different if everyone was back onsite, but as it is, it's just kind of sad. Our former area is a ghost town.
My mom came over and spent time with DH yesterday. She brought blankets and things to wash in our machines (she has coin op where she lives) and then she repotted a plant for me. Worked out well for both of us.
While onsite yesterday I got my flu shot & Covid booster. So far just the arms are sore but I'm feeling OK.
Over the weekend we went to a comedy show in town. DH received his mobility scooter so we're able to get out a little more. Sunday we went for a long drive looking at fall colors. They were gorgeous!
WFH and I’m glad of it! Yesterday I left work almost 1/2 hr early to cash my aunt’s international check made out to me. I read online you can’t do international deposits on the mobile app and it needs to be done in person. Of course the banks are open from 9-5. I work from 8-5. I could have (and should have) went on my lunch break but figured I would just leave early instead. I leave my parking lot and my radio comes on because it couldn’t connect with my wifi device. What does that mean? No phone in my car, it’s all I use for music. I look into my purse. Yup. No phone. I panic. Turn around and race back to my parking space and retrace my steps. I try to get the same elevator I got going down incase it fell out of my purse on the elevator, but that never happens. So I retrace my steps all the way back to my office and yes. It’s on the floor! It fell from my purse but thankfully when I was placing it in there. I still try my hardest to get to the bank. Park my car right at 5. Walk up and he’s locking the door. When they say 5:00 they mean 5! Ugh. So now I have to fit it somewhere in my wfh day.
@MNNEBride, at least you could get your flu and COVID while you were at the office. I'm glad to your DH got his mobility scooter. That's great you all have more freedom now.
My work did in-office flu shots for the first few years I worked here, but then discontinued it. I'm going to try and get my flu/COVID booster on Thursday. I have to go to my doctor's office to get labwork done, so that's a good day while I'm running around doing other stuff anyway. I wish they did those shots at my doctor's and I will call ahread and ask, but I don't think they do. However, there is a grocery store with a pharmacy that I will drive right past to go back to work.
A coworker and I brought breakfast pizza for our teams today and it was so delicious. Apparently it's a regional thing? It was commonplace growing up in IA and her in rural IL - but the place we always got it recently expanded into our area! Most of coworkers thought we were crazy and had no idea it existed, so we decided to bring it for everyone to try. Big hit!
I did a little bit of fall clean up this morning after working out at the Y. H is blowing leaves and doing some clean up. We live in a heavily wooded area so the leaves are a constant battle in the fall. I'm still working on snowmen for the kids. I just need to get the biggest snowballs knitted. My order of snowmen parts arrived yesterday and they are just so darn cute. Good deal on amazon for everything I got!

There's a local pizza place that has breakfast pizza. I've been curious, but never tried it.
But, other than that, I haven't heard of breakfast pizza. Seems like a good concept!

I’ve heard of it (living in rural IL) but I still think it’s hard to come by? Or maybe because I’m just not big on breakfasts and don’t look for it?

It's so good! Pizza crust, cheese sauce, scrambled eggs, cheese, and then topped with bacon, sausage, veggies, etc. Delicious!
Finally cleaned out my bathroom storage this weekend and it feels so good! I finally accepted that just because something could be useful and I like it doesn’t mean there is room for it in my home. Such a small thing but makes a huge difference!
Interesting. I've lived in MO, OK, and NM. Definitely had breakfast pizza in MO and OK; I don't remember it in NM, but we had breakfast burritos before Midwest did. I love breakfast pizza, it's so yummy. Though there is someplace around here that does a breakfast pizza with sausage and gravy and just hell no to that one.
I am just counting down the days to Wu-Tang Clan!!! It's going to be such an amazing concert.
Yesterday was kind of a rough day. The most difficult personalities at the office were all hepped up at me and my boss is just being odd. I think he's really damn moody and he's really down about this move. He's not a jerk or anything negative, he's just very demanding and difficult to work for. It's kind of wearing me out right now. I'm ready to be in my new space and not think about this BS anymore. Also, office grump is leaving and other difficult personality is on another floor! Whoot!
