Wow, we're all busy and/or out, I guess.
The weekend was spent at home, in double layers, snuggled up with Harley, and hot chocolate. It was too cold to leave my home. All I could think about was hoping all of the unhoused folx had found someplace safe to be, our city doesn't have enough cold crisis shelters to take them all. I was very thankful for my home and the knowledge of being able to pay for my utility bill, which is probably going to be outrageous this month.
I have a good week coming up. Tomorrow is Return of the King, extended edition, and then Wednesday I'm going to see Stomp! It's been years since I saw the production, so I'm looking forward to it. I have a procedure this Thursday, just a CT. Otherwise, SSDD.

Re: Monday
I saw Legally Blonde Jr. 3 times between Friday and Sunday. The kids did a great job and the girl who played Elle is phenomenal. I now have the songs stuck in my head. On repeat. OMG YOU GUYS!!
Kiddos are off today and I'm trying to motivate them to get off screens. Right now they're in a Minecraft tournament and I'm working.
I watched the latest Scream over the weekend. I liked parts, really didn't like other parts .... I really do love the Scream brand of horror movies though. A slasher whodunit mystery kind of thing.
But I had a more fun weekend than I was expecting. My good friend who works in tv/movies left again to work out-of-state, so we had our last hurrah over the weekend. Dinner and then hanging out with drinks on Friday. On Saturday, we went to the race track. They had normal horse racing, but it was also exotic animals day. So there were also races with camels, zonkeys (zebra/donkey hybrid), and ostriches.
I couldn't believe ostriches were large and strong enough to carry grown men, but they are. They are also the most precarious exotic animal to ride and you are almost guaranteed someone will fall off them. It did not disappoint. Two of the jockeys fell off, out of the 4 jockeys racing.
The ostriches also seemed faster than the other two animal types. Though that might have been because they seemed to have more motivation to get to the end. Two of the camels didn't realize they were racing and just stopped on the track, lol.
When I was at my friend's house on Saturday night, she gave me a list of Oscar-nominated movies. She told me to pick out the ones I want to watch and she can send me a code to see them for free. She's in one of the guilds and gets to vote in some of the categories. I don't really go to the movies and am excited to watch some of the latest ones in the comfort of my own home!
I've barely looked at the list but want to watch Oppenheimer, Napoleon, Barbie, The Color Purple, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Saltburn. Saltburn only sounded vaguely familiar to me, but she highly recommended it. She said it is a real "mind fuck", because it's very disturbing but you like it anyway. But are then disturbed at yourself for liking it.
Anything else you all recommend that I should catch?
Movies I would recommend are probably really old. It takes me a while to watch the "popular" movies. I do really want to see Barbie though, and Napoleon!
It's the movie Paul Giamatti is in that he's winning the awards for and I thought it was really well done.
DH and I watched both The Holdovers and Oppenheimer a couple weeks ago and I really liked both. Oppenheimer was over 3 nights I think due to my stamina and its length. (and I did not intend to write that as double entendre but hey!)
To me, they looked more like donkeys. But had stripes like a zebra. One of them was brown with black stripes. The other one was white with black stripes, a lot like a zebra.
It sounds good and has percentages in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.
Weekend was good but cold! The area where DD lives didn't get the amount of predicted to snow but the cold arrived. The boys couldn't go outside to play because of the low temps. One of the twins was so sweet and snuggly (kind of unusual now a days). I enjoyed every minute of it. They were all sad to see us leave this morning. I had to get home for a dentist appointment this afternoon. I had to get a filling. My dentist said it wasn't a cavity but weakened area in the tooth. Anyway, now my mouth is so numb I can hardly speak correctly.
I've got nothing on movies except we really enjoyed (not sure that's the correct word) Oppenheimer and my bookclub and I enjoyed Barbie.
