Okay, election results by me went pretty well. Would love if nationally we could send Cheeto a message.

Back to in person teaching today, thankfully. I LOVE the occasional remote day if it’s like a PD. But teaching remotely is the worst.

    Pretty SSDD otherwise.
  • God I want to feel good about the election results...but unfortunately I feel more in Debbie Downer realm. Especially given asshole in chief is talking about passing executive orders to say the election results aren't valid. Mamdami's win and speech made me feel hopeful for a second. I do think he would have what it takes to eventually run for president and I'm bummed he won't be able to in the future. I reaaaalllyyy hope the Supreme Court doesn't capitulate to the Cheeto today with the tariff case too.

Otherwise, SSDD. I made a large tactical error last week and went grocery shopping while hungry and now I have 2 weeks worth of main courses to make tonight before they go bad. Oops. I'm trying to figure out if I can freeze anything. The weather here is being unpredictable with up to 20+ degree temp swings during the day. It's supposed to be 88 on Sunday followed by rain and 58 degrees a few days later.

    Sending everyone good vibes today.

  • I'm also more in the Debbie Downer.  Retaliation is going to be brutal.  I'm actually willing to go through that, except that I don't trust the electorate to continue fighting back once it's no longer checkbook issues.  I've also been seeing people using this success to criticize Harris' campaign and they're just wrong, Wrong, WRONG and I'm so damn tired of it.  I started reading 107 Days and I'm having to do it in small chunks because I get so upset about how hard she worked, the absolute dedication and intelligence of her and her team, and how hard some party members worked against her or left her to to twist in the wind (with my entire chest, *&$^ Sanders, Pelosi, Schumer, Newsom, and Obama).  My bitterness is there and I don't like it about myself, but I can't seem to push past it anymore.

I also have some bitterness that I will probably never see a Gen Xer become president, b/c our generation was just too small and add in the divide between liberal/conservative and it'll probably never happen.  Boomers won't let go and the younger, larger generations are coming up too fast (not their fault and I bear no ill will towards them).  It just makes me feel more forgotten than a 48 year old woman already feels (I do identify as Gen X though I'm the tail end.  I lived in the Midwest where things hit 2-4 years later, so that is my lived experience).

Otherwise, SSDD with pushing back against the depression, waiting for others to get me things I need so I can push forward, and dealing with all of this.
  • I saw “regretting you” yesterday and it’s pretty good. Throughout the entire movie I’m like “Is Amanda Peet playing a 34 year old? Hot damn she looks good! She’s got to be well into her 40’s” i googled when the movie was over. Amanda Peet is 53 now. And that wasn’t Amanda Peet but Allison Willams. No idea who she is, but she’s definitely Amanda Peet’s doppelgänger.
Did you know you can pretty much arrange your own stitchfix? I had a bad one sent to me last week (kept one item to not loose the style fee) so you’re allowed to put one item in your next fix. You’ll get an email later on and you get to preview some other items, and say add or decline to make up 5 items…. This is beneficial to get 25% off all 5 if you keep all five, and since you added everything in yourself, the fit/material should be the only thing stopping you from keeping it. I have a taupe sweater in my upcoming fix AND 4 variations of sweaters/tops all black lol.
