honeymoon?

Where are you ladies going on your honeymoon or if you're already married, where did you go? Any comments on why you chose it? :) We're totally in that stage now (I've been in rapid fire with planning these past few weeks... been engaged since Dec 2009 and just starting all this stuff now... bah!)

I'm kind of looking at the Couples Swept Away or Couples Tower Isle... but I haven't booked anything yet. Any input is more than welcome! We're definitely wanting something all inclusive...

    We're going on a cruise. Haven't decided the destination yet. But we won 2 cruises this year, so we have about 8 options.

    We are going to Raotan Island in Honduras.  They have a all inclusive resorts there for a very reasonable price.  The pictures that I found are beautiful!!

    we went to hawaii - got some good deals through costco. spent one week on kaua'i and 4 days on oa'hu. we chose hawaii b/c we wanted to go somewhere where we didn't have to worry about language or currency but where we were still in paradise.

    We are going on a Caribbean cruise-thanks to FFIL!  We are doing the Caribbean cruise that goes to Jamaica, Cozumel and Cayman Islands.  We went on one this summer that was a free gift from FFIL as well, which was our first and we really enjoyed it.  Nothing beats free!

    I've always wanted to go to Europe, FI & I love to travel...so for our honeymoon, we are first flying to Rome and staying a few days, then to Barcelona and getting on a  Mediterranean cruise... I can't wait!

    ***aggiebug ~  the Alaskan cruise has been my favorite so far... it's absolutely beautiful up there!

    cvgomez yours sounds fatastic!

    I really can't wait for our trip.  I have heard such good things about Alaskan cruises.  which cruise line did you take? we are on Carnival since it worked best with our timing.

    I would look into Mexico. That's where you will get the most out of your money for all-inclusives. The resorts are safe and it's a great place to go! so much to do or you can do as little as you want, it's perfect. there are thousands of resorts in mexico so the tough part would be narrowing that down! i'd look into resorts in Cabo or Playa.

    We're leaving Friday and spending two fabulous weeks in ROME!! I'm so excited. We are flying into London, then going to Rome, then at some point in our trip to Italy we are going to see Pompeii because I have to see it, then back to Rome. 

    We chose this because I have always wanted to go to Europe, and have never really been out of the country. I have been studying the region since I was in 6th grade, and must see it. We took the opportunity to go over Christmas and New Years, so I'm really excited about it.

    We went to Cozumel and stayed at the Wyndham Aura.  It was beautiful, the rooms are huge, the food was decent (for an all-inclusive, which is typically the case), and I would most certainly go back!

    We chose Cozumel since it's only a two hour flight from Houston and we didn't want to spend a ton of our time on travel. 

    My one complaint is that the sand in Cozumel is very rocky/shelly since it's basically surrounded by reef, but the water is amazing - we would walk out on the pier every day and look down and could see fish swimming all over the place.  A lot of other guests were snorkeling around the pier, and one couple even saw a stingray. 

    I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for something close, all-inclusive, and not quite as expensive as Sandals, or one of the other resorts like it.

    One note: wherever you go, pay attention to their rainy season.  My understanding is that many places, especially in Central America, have rainy seasons that prohibit you from doing pretty much anything.

    A couple that we are friends with went to Roatan recently (not for a HM...just vacation) and absolutely loved it!

    We usually go on RCL or NCL. We went on RCL to Alaska... I highly recommend getting a room with a balcony... That's on FI must have list... We don't like Carnival...
