Hello everyone,
I'm pretty new to this board. I got engaged on November 1, 2010 when my babe and I returned from our trip to Africa (he's from Cameroon). Our wedding date is May 28, 2011 and we're having an evening wedding. His first language is French and our first date was at La Madeline. Okay, now on to the problem..
When we got engaged, my babe told me he loved the color coral, so I searched online for a color that is complimentary to coral and I found teal. To accent the coral/teal, I wanted to use gold. Okay, so yesterday we had a meeting with a photographer who also does linen rentals and I asked him what he thought coral was. Come to find out, in his mind coral is actually TANGERINE! So, we put tangerine and teal together and he liked it some...but didn't want the silver/gold to be included as an accent. The venue we are using is pretty white. There are glass chandeliers, white walls, white ceiling fans, and a light colored floor. I'm not sure that gold will work in that room, so I thought that maybe we could do teal and silver and just add tangerine(orangey colors) into the centerpieces. BUT I'm still nervous of how it will look. Keep in mind, the teal we are using is a deep teal, peacock looking teal. I just don't know what to do!!!
The person we were meeting with then suggested teal, gold and violet (gem tones), but will that be okay for a summer wedding?? I want the wedding colors to be rich, vibrant and to have a nice "summer" feel to them. But how do you make a deep teal "summery?"
Okay, so I'm all over the place! What to do, what to do, what to do? Should I go with teal, silver, tangerine or should I even go "mardi gras" and shoot for teal, gold and violet? HELP!!!
The next dilemna is should I have overlays on my tables or is that just a waste of money? I was thinking of getting a nice pintuck tablecloth and alternating the colors (one teal, one tangerine OR one teal, one violet)...HELP!!!!!
