RSVP????

Is it me, or do people find it ok not to RSVP.  I need my out of State people RSVP before I send out the rest of my invites. I want to make sure they are accounted for first. I have a lot of local people who want to come, and my seating is limited as I am on a tight budget.  I also need to get hotel rates for out of town people.  But I have yet to hear back from them. I had call my mother today and tell her to get on the phone and find out if they are coming.  I did not want to do it... I might have uninvited them. I really dont get it.  AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How has your RSVP worked out?

Unfortunately it seems the RSVP is a joke to some people. In my case 5% of those who RSVP's yes, just plain didn't show. In my friend's wedding (same day as mine) she had over 30 RSVP as yes and not show! Talk about rude and a complete waste of money. I'd have been furious, because we certainly would have invited more/others had we known.

A lot of people didn't RSVP to my wedding and the ones who said they were coming, well some of them didn't show up!! RUDE!!!!  No one understands the importance of RSVP's when it comes to weddings. :(

I understand the frustration.  My wedding isn't till September...but believe me...I'm contacting my out of town guests already to see who is no kidding coming and who isn't.  Most of my out of town guests have already confirmed with me, which is great, so I already have an idea of who I'm inviting out of the folks that live here.  Its a double-edged sword.  I don't think there really is way to make sure who is coming and who's not. :-/

We RSVP'd yes to all the wedding we went to and showed up no matter how far it was. One wedding some close friends (of bride and us) RSVP'd yes and never, ever showed up! I found it very rude.

After the RSVP date I had DH call people or text them saying I needed to know or I was going to hurt him. The answered quick yes or no.

I still had people who said they weren't coming come to the wedding and some who said yes didn't come. It is frustrating.
