Need Help from Royal Orient! Dress Scandal!

Royal, please contact me (not sure how to do this on the knot, I am not that active) regarding a local dress boutique that is closed due to fraud.  Many brides have paid for and/or ordered their dress from here, only to find out they will never get their dress.  OR, if they do, the dress is not designer, but is a cheap knockoff from China.  Please help!

Re: Need Help from Royal Orient! Dress Scandal!

  • Please check your private message. I just sent you one.
  • Oh no.  I got my dress there too!  Yikes.  What's next?
  • Thank you everyone.  Yes, I saw the news last night, but there was not much information on what we all should do.  Not sure if I should wait it out or if I should say good bye to my money and go to another store.  Has anyone gotten the RIGHT dress at the RIGHT price?  My wedding is in October, so I have time to go somewhere else, but I would need to do that quickly.  It is a custom-made dress that Scott was going to make for me at an amazing price.  Any suggestions?
  • I'm in the exact same position - I ordered a dress that was supposedly designed for Scott's salon.  It is supposed to come in this month.  The store disconnected both of their phone lines and we haven't heard anything about whether the dresses will come in, or if they were even ordered at all!  It's possible that they won't stay in business long enough if it has been shipped already.

I'm getting married on June 23rd, so I can't afford to wait it out to see what happens.  I'm going to order another dress this weekend and rush delivery.  Worst case scenario, I'll get to have a wardrobe change.  Otherwise, I could end up with NO dress, which obviously can't happen.

Everyone, please keep us posted if you find out anything else!

Saw the below post on facebook and wanted to pass it along in case anyone was unsure of what to do about a dress in this awful situation.  It seems like Helene's is trying to step in and work with the designers to help, good luck.

Helen's Bridalis trying to help any bride, bridesmaids, and mother effected from the Cinderella's debacle. Please call (401) 434-4370 if you have questions or concerns. We can help if you know designer (thus far After Six. Dessy, Alfred Sung, Venus and Liz Fields) of the gown you ordered and when it was ordered. We have been in touch with the designers to try to reunite you and your gown! We have been successful in this effort thus far!!!

^ I am so sorry this is happening to some of you ladies. I have mentioned this matter to The Knot to see if they can offer any other solution. For all of the ladies who lost their deposit and are still looking for a wedding dress, Helene's in EP is helping out brides. I also spoke to Erina of Erina's Boutique in East Greenwich. She has a good selection of bridal gowns in szes up to 16.
