Alexandra's Bridal Boutique- Fall River

Hey Girls! I recently got a call from Alexandra's in Fall River because I had entered a drawing at a bridal show that i went to a short while back. I won a gift cert. for 100$ of accessories with the purchase of a gown. I figured it cant hurt to go there and check it out, has anyone done business with them before? Did you have a good experience? TIA!

Re: Alexandra's Bridal Boutique- Fall River

  • That's where I got my gown, bridesmaids and mom's gowns too!  I really love the selection that they have!  I have no looked at accessories there but was very pleased with the gown selection.

They have been amazing to work with and really know how to work with your likes/dislikes.  The wedding gown area is smaller than it should be based upon the amount of business that they do.  I was initially put off by the tightness of the space but once my consultant, Rosana, started bringing stunning gowns I forgot about it.  I only went to a few shops but preferred the gown selection at Alexandra's.  They didn't let me poke through the racks, which was fine with me, I told her what I liked and didn't like and then she pulled.  Definitely recommend giving them a shot!
  • I grew up in FR so I have bought my homecoming, prom and bm dress from there. I didn't find my wedding dress there but my mom bought her dress there. They have a great selection and the owner has always been very nice. the sales girls are just okay in my book.

I agree with pp that some of the sales girls are inexperienced. I was lucky to work with Rosana who os experienced and listens to you, she knows what she is doing. If you can request her it would be worth it IMHO. She may switch to Portuguese on you but she usually catches herself, she is very sweet. GL!
  • i went there and to helene's - where i ultimately got my dress - and i preferred helenes much better. alexandras was fine - was the first place i went - so i didnt really know what to expect...but i found the sales girl - although sweet, very pushy at the same time. i know they are on commission but really - back off a little. i also didnt appreciate the owner and the sales girl criticizing me for not buying the dress right away. i have every right to think it over and if i lose out - its my own fault, i know. they told me that they had the best prices, most dresses, etc. my mom really had to put them in their place...they did have beautiful gowns - but i didnt like trying them on and coming out into a main room with another bride and her family...people are nosy - give all their opinions...its just not as personal and private - which was what i liked from helenes
  • ^ I also enjoyed my experience at Helene's and you are right, the attention to the bride is more personal and private. The sales girls don't work on commission and they sell exclusive designer gowns not carried anywhere else in the state including Tara Keely, Aire Barcelona to name a few. When I went to Alexandra's for my appt. I was sharing my space with two other brides and their entourage. It was a Thursday so I assumed it would not be too busy but unfortunately I scheduled during prom season :-(

Both bridal boutiques are worth visiting but Helene was definitely my favorite. My mother in law who is super fussy and indecisive found her dress and Helene was absolutely patient throughout the whole ordeal.
  • I have never been to Helene's to compare but Alexandra's has been looking for a larger space to allow for a more private experience. Not sure of the timing but it is in the works. Have fun!
  • This place is the absolute worst bridal/prom boutique I have ever experiened. Three weeks ago I drove over an hour and a half with my mom and little sister to help her find a prom gown. Alexandras was HIGHLY recommended to us. The selection is fantastic and the dress consultants are wonderful but its very crowded and not very private. However, the owner is HORRIFIC and NASTY. It was one of the worst customer service experiences ever. After selecting a prom gown I made sure all the pieces were there before handing it to a consultant to package. Sure enough, when we got home and unwrapped it a back piece was missing. The shop luckily found it and was going to mail it to us. Rather than spend the $.90 cents to track the package, they mailed it in a standard envelope, with no tracking and who knows if enough postage. They are now blaming it on the post office for losing and insisting that they will find it, now that its 2 weeks before the prom. They never followed up with us and everytime we called to check they said the post office never called them and it wasnt up to them anymore to help us. We now have a $350 dress, with a missing piece, and no offer of compensation. When we asked if they would pay for the missing piece to be made by a local seamstress they offered to pay $20 but not a penny more. The owner pretty much admitted that their sweat shop seamstresses work for cheap and it would only cost her under $2 to make herself. The woman is wretched and not a penny should go to this place. I feel terrible for the poor employees that have to work for her.  Do not trust your wedding dress with such a horrible place.
  • Hello fellow brides,

Be sure to check out Alexandras Bridal, they were amazing with all my needs and the needs of my bridal party. The shop provides a wide range of dresses and affordabel prices. The staff and proffesionalism of the consultans is amazing while still making you feel comfortable. A huge shout out to my personal consultant Laurie who is fantastic. She is an asset to the shop and has a great personality......

    Thanks girls
    Nellie
  • I had an amazing experience at Alexandra's Bridal in Fall River. I had been to 5 shops previously and this was one of the best ones! It's about an hour drive for me too, but well worth it. I went there specifically for the Justin Alexander Trunk Show. Before I went I emailed them 3 dresses I was specifically interested in and the owner emailed me back right away to say they had them so I made an appointment. When I arrived, I was greeted and taken to the fitting area, they already had the 3 dresses I wanted to try on waiting for me in my private fitting room! I cannot say enough about the service I received from Alexandra's. Rosana was amazing to work with, she was very helpful and listened to what I wanted and helped pick dresses that matched my style. The staff and proffesionalism is great.I highligy recommend this bridal boutique to anyone looking.
  • Can't say enough great things about Alexandra's Bridal Boutique!  They have a huge selection and their staff was wonderful throughout the whole process.  We worked with Jill for both our bridesmaid dresses and Mother of the bride gown.  She was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process and was so patient with me and my 5 bridesmaids.  She made sure that my opinion and wishes were the top priority of the day and that I didnt get swayed too much by the opinion of others.  I was so pleased with my bridesmaid experience, that I decided to bring my mother there as well.  Once again we met with Jill and like before, she was incredible.  My mother is not easy to please, but Jill found so many dresses that we wound up loving.  We actually were torn between 4 dresses that day and probably would never have considered trying them on without Jill's help.  All in all, this place is great and I strongly suggest you check them out (and be sure to ask for Jill:) )
