Rhode Island

I need a make up artist

So, I hired a make-up artist in Rhode Island because they use Bare Minerals make-up which is a must for me. I'm not going to say who it is because I don't like bashing people online, but they've become very flaky and I definately don't want someone unreliable involved with my wedding day. Can anyone recommend a reliable make-up artist in Rhode Island who is experienced with Bare Minerals Make-up? I know there are some alternative brands of mineral make up that some artists may be experienced with, but I'm looking for someone specifically experienced with Bare Minerals.

They would need to be able to do make-up on-site in Providence.

Thank you for your help!

If you are open to another brand of mineral make up, you should shoot Sara Faella an e-mail. I use bare mineral and young blood products so originally I was looking for someone who specialized in mineral make up, well that is until I tried airbrush which turned out to work better for me because of my oily skin. It gave me full coverage but felt light weight and it was long lasting (no touch up). The foundation match was also 100%.

I honestly don't know of any make up artist who specifically uses Bare Escentuals products but I know of quite a few that uses Youngblood, Jane Ireland, and Glominerals. Let me know if you are interest.

btw my trial pic is on my blog, you can also check  the consultation bridal pics for hair and make up on Sara Faella's FB page.

I have come across a few that use Young Bloods which I have actually myself switched to after several tries with so many different types of makeup and allergic reactions... I love it!!!!!!!!!  I know that Alicia Russo at Cosibella Salon in Cranston, and Kerri Parks at Skinplicity in EG both mentioned YoungBloods...  they both also do on-site.  There is a MUA at Salon Aurora that is supposed to be good and uses Young Bloods but I'm not sure she travels...

Let us know how you make out... and certainly please let us know if we are mentioning poor choices... I am still in my research phase :)

I use bare escentuals every day but am using airbrush makeup for the wedding.  I am using Jennifer Hodge and she is amazing.  Her work is phenomenal and the airbrush feels just like mineral makeup - lightweight and great coverage.

I use Bare Minerals daily and I used Kerri Parks from Skinplicity (who uses Youngblood) for my wedding.  Prices/info is on their site.  Bare Minerals actually has a lot of mica in it, as well as SPF, and that reflects back in photos as a ghostly white.  You don't want to use Bare Minerals in photos for that reason.  My BFF is a fashion photographer and they never use Bare Minerals.  The Youngblood line is a finer mineral makeup that doesn't have the reflective properties of Bare Minerals.  FWIW, I LOVED Kerri the day-of, she was so calming and relaxed, definitely set a good vibe for the day.  Good luck.

My make up artist (Jennie Kay) also told me the exact same thing about mineral make up.  She does airbrushing as well and is absolutely amazing.  In Response to <a href="http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/local-wedding-boards_rhode-island_need-up-artist?plckFindPostKey=Cat:Local%20Wedding%20BoardsForum:122Discussion:a731c323-b652-4e5a-9237-aa875e98c111Post:1142dbcf-0fa8-462a-b796-120a765e39a6">Re: I need a make up artist</a>:
