Rhode Island

Oceancliff and Regatta Place Brides

My FSIL is looking into both of these venues.  Is the minimum an Event Minimum or a Food and Beverage Minimum?  Also is anything (flowers, DJ, cake, ect.) included or is it just the linens/glassware/tableware?

TIA!!

Hi I am looking at Regatta place-- but Im not sure of the minimums for Ocean Cliff-- Im sure someone on here does.

I was quoted a 4500 site fee (which includes, linens, chairs etc) and then a 10,000 food and beverage min for a Friday night at Regatta.

So to answer your question--- the EM includes food and beverage only.
The site fee is what includes the linens etc.

cake, dj, florals, etc are not included-- they have some suggested vendors they work with though...

I'm having a day wedding at the Regatta Place.  The rental fee is 2500.00 and the food/beverage min is 8K ( I think-we are welll above that).  We chose the Saphire package for $55/pp.  They also included an 1.5 hour sail on the Aurora after the wedding!  It was a great deal.

I am having a Friday evening wedding at the Regatta next summer and my food and bev minimum is $10,000 and the rental fee is $1,500 for the ceremony and $3,500 reception.  This does not include any other vendors.  The OceanCliff is much more expensive.

Also the packages per person are more expensive for an evening wedding because the cheapest package I was given was $75 pp.

i am getting married at ocean cliff.  it depends on what time of year you are getting married.  also saturdays are more expensive than fridays and sundays.  email them and set up an appointment.  they are great to work with!
there is a food and beverage minimum and a site rental fee. also a ceremony fee if you are getting married there.  no vendors are included in the food and bev minimum.

Amy- do you think you have gone above your bev. minimum in your opinion?? I am intersted in regatta but can see $$$ adding quickly once you veer from the regular menu and starting adding on taxes and adding in booze.

as a reference amount without calling for Ocean Cliff:
my best friend just got married, she had the crystal package (the cheapest) and only open beer and wine all night + cocktail hour--

the sales person at Regatta told me her wedding was around 32k when all was said and done with food, apps  and booze.

they also had some "late night treats" for those staying in the hotel that included beer and wine as well for an hour from 12-1 am

Just to add...the site/ceremony fee is part of the event minimum...just got married at OC.

I have well exceeded my minimum.  I am going with the Silver package ($85 pp) and a full open bar ($30 pp deposit) and I have a guest list of about 125.

If you are interested in the tent style wedding, you could also check out the Newport Yachting Center.  It was significantly less expensive than the Regatta and Blackstone Caterers are wonderful to work with.

I'm getting married at Regatta Place next July on a Saturday evening.  The site fee was $6500 and we're having the ceremony there as well which is an additional $1500.  Our F&B minimum is $14,000 but like amylydia we're going to exceed that, even without including the site fee..  We are having 160-170 people with an open bar and I think we're going with a package that's $125.  They also have ones for $75, $85, $105, $150 and other pricing for buffet packages.  Good luck!

I am having my wedding on a Sunday next July, and my pricing is basically the same as the Friday pricing.  They are usually a little more flexible with food and beverage minimums if you are doing a Friday or Sunday night.  Our minimum is 10,000, event fee is 2500, and ceremony fee is 1500.  Oceancliff is significantly more expensive, but also beautiful.  Regatta is more "affordable" (if that's possible in Newport), especially for a smaller wedding.  If she is looking at a wedding for 200 people or something like that Regatta will be too small.

Also, my 10,k minimum is just food and beverage- it doesn't include the site fees.  I do think the food and beverage minimum includes the food/ beverage taxes and service feesm but I'm not 100% positive of that.  I knew we would be able to meet the minimum easily once you add an open bar to the food packages.

Hi! i Saw that you said you just had your wedding at OC! How was it? I see so many people saying how expensive it is, but overall do you think it was worth it? So many people have said different requirements..and rental fees. I would be looking for a ceremony site, reception and stay for the guests.... any advice?

    Thanks! & Congrats*!

We have our wedding next August at Regatta Place on a friday nite. We were quoted a minimum of 9k with a 3000 site fee. I think it's interesting to see how the site fees differ, even for a friday wedding, because I was told those were strictly non negotiable. We have the Emerald Pkg at $60/pp. It is not one they typically have in their packet but we mentioned we are on a strict budget.

I was also told that they could not set a capped limit on the bar (we are having beer and wine only) because of their point consumption system and we would have to actually shut down the bar to tally the total and it wld take half an hour. I was very unhappy with that as it is not what the salesperson promised. Anyone doing a set amount?

The minimum does NOT include the taxes, admin or gratuity fees in my case. I would double check but I think it's for food/liquor only so you may want to contact your sales rep. congrats to you on your wedding!!!!
