Help! I am planning my Catholic wedding from a distance and am not able to meet with my ceremony musicians until just before the wedding. I need to decide on songs before then. Does anyone have suggestions on songs that can be played at a Catholic wedding from the prelude, to the processional, to the recessional?
Thank you!
Re: Catholic Wedding Ceremony - music ideas?
Soon!
- Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring
- Water Music
- Canon in D
- Laudate Dominum
There is an excellent list of music for processional/ceremony/recessionals here:

The previous posters had some great ideas, and I am not sure if you are looking for instrumental music or music with vocals, but here are the songs that I am going with (my roommate is a very talented vocalist, so she is singing at the wedding and all of my songs, including the processional, have vocals):
Processional: Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Offertory: For all the Saints
Communion: Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence
Presentation of Flowers to Mary: Ave Maria
Recessional: Love Divine, All Loves Excelling
I have not settled on all of the prelude songs yet, but we are thinking: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty; O Love that Will Not Let Me Go; O God Beyond All Praising; Sing of Mary.
Hope this helps!

My daughter processed to Canon in D. Her responsorial psalm was, "I Have Loved You" by Joncas. For the presentation of gifts, she used, "Wherever You Go" by Norbet. "Make Me a Channel of your Peace/Temple was sung for the Sign of Peace, "Taste and See" was used during Communion, and "Ave Maria" was sung for the Presentation to Mary.
