Finger lakes ceremony/reception

I'm from below syracuse and my FI is from south of buffalo. we were thinking some where in the finger lakes would be a nice in between spot for everybody. I would like our ceremony to be by the water some where. I was wondering if anybody knew of some nice spots for the ceremony and reception in one spot. thanks felicia

Lots of girls like Belhurst Castle in Geneva! Check some of the other wineries as well!

I considered Hurd Orchards for my wedding. I ended up not going with them because they have quite a few stipulations for weddings because they are a working farm. I know you said you are hoping for something in between the two locations, but I have heard really great things about Becker Farms, which is north of Buffalo, near Gasport/Lockport.

I found this link that might be helpful: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/barn-venues-in-upstate-ny

    Good luck!

I am getting married at Belhurst.

    Hmmm, rustic...

You could look into The Rabbit Room at the Lower Mill. This is not in the Finger Lakes though.

or Glenora Wine Cellars, or Billsboro.

I looked at a LOT of places in the Finger Lakes and I can't think of any barns. Sorry.

Have you tried looking at The Barn? It's in Willseyville, not far from Ithaca.  I'm not sure if that's close enough to where you are looking, but it has a rustic look.

There is also the LakeWatch Inn, which looks like it was built out of an old barn.

You can also try Keuka Lake, there is a place there called the  Esperanza Mansion.  Not a Barn, but rustic, majestic and has a beautiful view.

we are having our wedding at Emerson Park in Auburn, NY in their pavillion...  http://www.co.cayuga.ny.us/parks/emerson/fees.html

other locales in the Finger Lakes that you may want to explore
Geneva on the Lake, Geneva, NY
    Aurora Inn, Aurora, NY
    Ventosa Vineyards, Geneva, NY
Bristol Harbor, Bristol, NY - near Canandaigua
    Knapp Winery, Romulus, NY
    Castel Grisch, Watkins Glen, NY
    Heron Hill Winery, Hammondsport, NY
    Wagner Winery, Lodi, NY

I have grown up in the Finger Lakes and have been to weddings at most of the these locations... they are all lovely.

IMO I would not go with Belhurt, I have never been impressed with their food and you end up having a ton of people not invited to your wedding watching from the patios, not very private at all!  Someone else always recommended Esperanza.  I actually eat their often and love their food but have not been as impressed with their large scale catering.  The location is amazing though!
