Wedding Vows & Ceremony Discussions

beer ceremony

we love and brew our own beer at home.  We want to have a beer ceremony instead of wine, using our own brews.  Has anyone done or have any ideas for this?  We can only fine readings for wine, and not sure how to start.

Re: beer ceremony

  • This sounds like a really cute idea for the reception during the cake cutting or something. I just can't think of a way to do it in the ceremony without it being kind of cheesy.
  • I'f you can't find a ceremony that is cheesy, you could brew your own bottles and send the guests home with a bottle that has a personalized label to commemorate your day.
  • Are you thinking of a wine (beer) ceremony where you mix them together and then you both drink from the mixture?  Or the one where you put the wine (beer) into a wooden box with letters to each other and nail it up to open on your 5th/10th anniversary?

Ditto this....I can't imagine that the beer would be good in 5 years!

  • Some beers can age. In particular barley wines and imperial stouts can be aged. My fiance is a home brewer and we are planning to serve pumpkin ale on tap at our fall themed wedding. We are also considering sending guests home with bottles of a fancier brew as a wedding favor. Another idea to consider is doing beer flights during the coctail hour instead of a signature drink.

  • We totally wanted to do something like that, but my parents shot it down. We're from Central Oregon, which is known for our microbreweries. We wanted to take an ale and IPA and mix them together and drink them together. You could always take the wine ceremony and tweak it to fit beer.
