Skylight Ballroom at the Merion

Hey everybody! I was just curious if anybody was getting married in the Skylight Ballroom upstairs at the Merion...If so, how many people are you inviting? We are inviting about 280 soooo we are hoping about 250, 260 will come...I hope it is not cramped! thoughts?

    OMG my FI and I loved that room. However we are having ours in the Palace on the main floor, directly below. From what I recall, I think they said that the skylight was a min of like 200 or 250, so if thats the case I dont think you will have any problems with being cramped. Good luck deciding. All I can say is I can not wait till our wedding day cause I cant wait to see what the Merion has in store for what they said will be the wedding of the century. What better way to sell a wedding haha.

    We're getting married in that room but we are having a much smaller reception, only about 150... however the day we saw it initially it was set for 230 and it still looked very spacious and not cramped at all... so 250 should be just fine! I may actually have pictures of the room set that day if you'd like so you can see what it looks like!

    Ranger girl, if you have pics set for the day you saw it, that would be fantastic! My email is mariantheb@yahoo.com...I went to a wedding there in 2007 and my friend had about 225 but cannot remember if it seemed spacious or not because it was a while ago...I only started thinking about it because I went to a wedding last weekend and the place seemed sooo cramped but it was a capacity of 250 and I think they had 230 or something.

    sorry Mareb is me from when I was a bridesmaid and joined the knot years ago and then I forgot about it!!! So Rangergirl don't be confused Mareb is me but I logged into my old account by accident...Yes, I admit it! I had a knot.com account before I was even engaged...actually 2 years before I was engaged!

    Marian - I may have  a little video - i think I tried to count the # of tables.  I will look on my home pc when I am home tonight

    We are getting married in ththe Skylight room too!  Same situation - praying for a few less.  280 invited  - expecting 240.. I'm not even remotely concerned!

    I went to a wedding in that room with around the same numbers of guests, and it was not crowded at all in the room. The only thing a little crowded was the cocktail hour
