Gift bag for OOT guests

Are you doing gifts bags for your out of town guests and if so what are you including in them? I'm having a local beach wedding but I'm not sure if I'm going to do an out of town gift bag for my guests. Is that wrong?

Its not wrong if you 'don't' do it. Hell, alot of people that I talk about it to have no clue what they are.

I'm thinking about doing them, but to be honest, as of right now I have no clue what to include in them.

We did them.  Added a couple of bottles of water, some snacks for the room (chocolate, pretzels, etc).  Some people put little kits with bandaids, safety pins, mini shout pen.  Plus we added directions and things to do in the area.  You can get almost everything at the dollar store and club stores like sams of bjs.

We are doing them. We are adding water bottle(s), Hershey's kisses, salt water taffys, Johnson's caramel popcorn, directions, and maybe Tastykakes, though it's kind of expensive, and maybe soft Philly pretzels.

I wasnt going to do them, until I went to a wedding that did do them, and I felt really welcomed and special to get one.  That was when I decided to do one.  We're gonna get things from the area (our wedding is in AC, but we're getting taffy, popcorn, fudge, water bottles, lint brush, other snacks, etc.)  I was also against bathroom baskets and now I'm for.

We are doing them. My FI is from South Philly and I grew up down the shore.. So my dad came up with the idea South Philly meets the Jersey Shore.. South Philly items: soft pretzels, coke, and tastykakes Jersey Shore items: salt water taffy, Johnson's popcorn, fudge (maybe). Then some menu's for some local places to eat and stuff to do in the area, bottle of water,

I think the idea of them is really cute but where are you putting them?  Our wedding is in AC so people will be staying at all different casinos.  Are you planning on putting them in their rooms???

I'm doing welcome bags.  I'll be adding water, snacks, chocolate, and directions to things in the area.  I'm also adding a letter of welcome and reminding them of the shuttle and times for the shuttle.
