Military Brides

Vents?

I am so irritated today. It's one of those days where everything is just going wrong. It's only 9:30am for me, and I've already dealt with 4 assholes in 4 different situations. I am so happy it's Friday cause as soon as I get home tonight, I am having a bottle or 2 of wine. Hangover be damned.

Oh, PS, I work with a bunch of cry baby barracudas.

Re: Vents?

  • I'm pissed that our home phone number is a recycled phone number.  I have gotten sooo many phone calls for the old owner of the number.  The calls are reducing as I slowly tell people it's the wrong number, but it's still annoying.  Was it that hard to give us a new number?

Also, I hate that the no-call registry takes 30 days to update.  I did it, and I think that is helping with the reduction of calls, but I wish it was quicker.

    THANK YOU!

Feel free to tell me I'm being a selfish bride... but I just DGAF.

I have my second fitting tomorrow, my MOH/Sister still hasn't come with me to see the dress. The dress shopping was a spir of the moment thing down in Dallas... and she wasn't around. The first fitting something happened with her car.. and even though I offered to pick her up (her BF was going to fix the car over the weekend) she didn't want to come down. NOW... she has a new cat and refuses to leave it alone.

I know I'm just being stupid bride, but I'm mad that 2 times now I have been blown off.....I know she doesn't HAVE to be there... but it would be nice if she wouldn't blow me off the day before... ETA - she asked if she could come and acted like she wanted to... up until the day before.

  • Beach, are you with Cox?? We have the same issue with our phone. I don't even bother picking it up when it rings. It's gotten annoying. We might just hook it up to a fax machine. No vents here as of right now, except ive had a headache since last night and id like for it to go away already!
  • I irritated with a girl at work. We did awards where you voted for the best so and so. She got to give best trainer to a really hot guy. And said the 2 minutes she talked to him was a date. She said he texted her thanks again and she kept the texts going. Then she was like is it too early for a friend request. I said yeah don't do it with one of your accounts that's not professional. And she was like you'll find some of your accounts aren't professional. I said yeah doesn't mean you go down to that level. It really bothered me that she was like you'll find some aren't professional and we got hired at the same time.

I get that. No, she doesn't HAVE to be there, but yes, it would be nice if she didn't flake out on you. I had a few of those moments with my BF, she was not really there for me, but that's ok, I am just glad she showed up day of! (I really thought I was going to get a flake out on the wedding day, but to be fair, she has marital issues that started the day she eloped :/ so I couldn't really blame her.)
  • Aww CAB :( Sorry you've had a hard day there...hopefully the hangover fairies will be warded off for the weekend.

Sometimes I suspect that my phone number was recycled too :/ otherwise I may just be Alfonso Gonzales....lol. No matter how much I tell people that I'm not a man, they just keep calling back.

Amanda: That is totally understandable. If I had a sister, I'd want her to come with me for something that special too. Heck if my bestie doesn't come with me when I do my dress shopping, I'ma be PISSED.

No complaints here...just about to get off work and go home to shower and get my bathing suit on. It's RIVER TIME! :D Central Texas is sunny once more! WOOOO!!!

  • I'm enduring my last day of babysitting. Enduring because he's really grumpy. TV usually distracts him. Of all the shows on right now it has to be Barney...that purple dinosaur still creeps me out.

I'm a little irritated at my mom, even though I know what she wants to do, and don't think it's a bad idea, but she won't listen to me. She wants to write a letter to my FILs just kind of saying "hi" and introducing herself, she's never met them. Actually, only FFIL has met any of my family, which was he briefly met my dad and grandmother over Christmas when he picked FI up at g-ma's house. SO I get what my mom wants, she wants to start to develop some kind of relationship with these people. Plus, my mom loves writing notes and letters and mailing them, it makes things more personal.

I've explained to her over and over about them. That they don't really have phones, that they don't check their mail, that their home is thisclose to being condemned (seriously, the city took away their trashcans and stopped mail service the summer after FI commissioned because they thought the house was abandoned), they only have one car between the three of them who live in two separate cities. They are very very difficult people to get in touch with. I don't even have work phone numbers or addresses. So I told her that Facebook is pretty much the only way they keep in touch. She's just refusing to believe that anyone is that odd.

You know... this happens much more than I thought it did before my niece was born. I can't believe babies explode diapers so much!!! Sorry TB!

***ps, I still have the fevaaaaa! Ha ha!
  • Bahahaha!! Team, that cured me of my baby fever!! I just got off work so that's good, but I'm still feeling crappy so I'm having some soup and the. I'm going to lay down... Maybe a nap, maybe until tomorrow! Who knows!!

  • CAB-Sorry your day blows. At least it is Friday! I think I am choosing a shamrock shake rather than wine for my end of the week beverage. :) Amanda- I would be upset about it too. Even if it wasn't wedding related, she is still blowing you off, and no matter the circumstances, that can be annoying and hurtful! Sami- Sorry you aren't feeling well. I hope the nap and soup help! My right foot has been bothering me the last few days. It is a dull pain that feels like I need to pop a joint, but it is right in the middle of my foot where moving joint do not exist. I work for orthopeadic surgeons who would gladly give me advice or input if I told them about my symptoms. I suspect they will tell me it is a small stress fracture and I am too stubborn to hear it and stay off of it. Mainly I don't want them telling me I can't run this half marathon in a few weeks. Basically, I am pissed at myself for being exactly like some of the patients I see on a daily basis who put off getting stuff checked out.

Unfortunately, it is what it is. My sister did the same thing, she didn't even see my dress until a week before the wedding. She is flaky and in her own world, and that is why she was not my MOH.
It's best to just accept it and move on. :( Don't let her get to you.
  • DD came home from daycare yesterday with a 104 temp. SCARY! Got it down with meds, but it's still hovering around the 100-101 range. So we are at home today, which means I have watched Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast already. After her nap will either be Princess and the Frog or Snow White - her choice, as long as it isn't Strawberry Shortcake (when you find yourself singing the theme song at work, you know you've watched it too many times)

haha you would think that, and I would be annoyed/grossed out but then you look at them and you melt again. Its the screaming toodlers and attitude filled teenagers that kill it for me.

TMI ALERT: My dog had really bad 'stomach ache' from an anal glands problem. She crapped ALL over my bedroom floor in the middle of the night. Her look made me feel so bad for her. I could tell she was hurting. #2 While I was potty training her she went to poop in my Mom's house (my mom is very anti pets in the home). I saw what she was going to do so I picked her up to run outside. She didn't make it and pooped all over my hands. Disgusting but it's life and can be washed. haha

  • 1) I am so sick of my job. Well, I like kids and I enjoy nannying in general, but these kids are driving me bananas. Especially the boy. He's a whiny little know-it-all. I can't wait to have a 3-4 week break from them when I go home for my wedding! 2) I stuffed 20 envelopes before I realized I forgot to put postage on the rsvp envelopes. Re-did them, but then ran out of stamps. Went to the P.O., and paid over $140 for stamps because my invites need 65 cents since they're heavier. 3) FI bought a $200 tablet thing (like an iPad) without talking about it with me first. That's a lot of money, especially when you're saving for a wedding. I wish he would've waited til after the wedding. I realize he wants it for the ship cuz he has a det coming up, but still. It's not necessary. And I'm upset he didn't talk to me about it first.

I get so annoyed because some of my students will not take me seriously because I am a woman.  I don't care if you are not used to that in your country but here I am your advisor so please do not try to go over my head to the "grad student" because he is male.
  • Binx- I get that. Right when we joined our bank accounts, H bought a huge item without us talking about it. I was pissed. It was his money because his pay checke covered it but still. After that, we agreed not to buy anything over 100 without talking to the other person first.

I hate that! I have a similar thing happen to me on a daily basis except it is more about my size. It bothers me when patients say "YOU'RE gonna wheel me to the room?" or "There is no way YOU'RE going to help me on that table, you're not big enough."

Mind you, I am pretty average size. If I didn't think I could help someone I wouldn't. I've been doing this everyday for 5 yrs. It frustrates me that people don't trust me.

  • Honestly I am tired of work. Tired of my job, and tired of my father telling me that he won't come to my wedding for various reasons, unless I do what he says. I go to school 15 hours a week, and work 30 hours a week. Spring break is coming up and I wanna visit my Fiance in another state, but oh no. If I do that, I get kicked out of the house, he won't go to the wedding, and will keep my mother and siblings away from the wedding.... It's not like I could use a stress free week from work and school and his Ahole self right? He has pushed me to the point where I am about to say ok whatever and go anyway. The only reason why I'm not married yet is because he wouldn't have attended until I waited ANOTHER! Year longer than I had originally wanted to.. He is fine with me being married and all now, so why isn't he fine with me spending 1 WEEK! with my Fiance? My mom just throws her hands up in a Ya'll Can Duke It Out way, not helping at all, when she was the one that suggested I go anyway!! So yeah, stressful day.
  • So I was supposed to go shopping with my mom but her dog had a seizure and needs a bath (he's epileptic). According to her giving him a bath will take so long we can't go. Guess I'm going to the liquor store.
