Military Brides

Love fest

Hey hey!

I just wanted to let you guys know how much I appreciate the friendships I've formed here. I don't have any military wife friends in real life so most of my friends don't understand that part of my life. You are supportive and I am thankful I found this little place.

So I just wanted to send my love and let you all know I think you're pretty great.

Awww Hike! I'm in the same boat as you, don't really have any real life military wife friends. I know I'm still kind of a newb here, but I already feel like I could be friends with most of you IRL. This is my favorite board. I'm glad you are our mod :)

Aw me too!  I don't live close the post where H is stationed.  H deployed and it was just better for me to stay put where I have a job that keeps me busy and my support system.  It is nice however to find people that know what I am going through.  Don't get me wrong I have wonderful friends that are trying hard to keep me busy but they admit they don't really know what is going through my head.  It is just nice to know there are people that do!  Smile

I don't have any military friends that aren't super crazy...('Navy wife is the hardest job in the world ' type people) And I don't like to associate with those people, they just kind of freak me out.

Most of my friends think I am crazy for being long distance inthe first place. I have a few friends that tell me to my face that they would rather break up with their boyfriends than be long distance. Not the best support system.

I look forward to having gtgs with you southern ladies when I move closer...

I still vote we get together in Orlando in February for a girl's weekend!  We go to Harry Potter World at Universal Studios, go out to see the new Stephanie Plum movie, and in general have a grand old girl's weekend!

Most of us will be within driving distance of Orlando, and anyone else could fly in if they wanted.

Thanks! I just took it this morning. The way he was tilting his head as I talked to him was just too cute, but the flash kept making his eyes glow. But then I realized it was Halloween appropriate! Calindi...I have been wanting to go to HP world so bad! Someday...when we have money... :)

I don't have any military FI/W/whatever friends in RL either; I love this board and all you ladies here already!

Now I wish I lived in the south!!  Maybe one day.  FI would love to move back to NC.  Perhaps his wish will be granted. and then I can meet up with you lovely ladies :)

You ladies are awesome!  I know some of the other wives of FI's coworkers and we get along just fine at work functions but we very rarely hang out other than that.  None of my friends from high school or college are military wives, so it is nice to have a group here who understands!

I'm down for a G2G once we get to VA!  Shan needs to make her drive from Kansas for it too!  I'm pretty excited to be living near Kara too when we move!

I definitely love how this board has turned around and gotten much more active lately.  It used to be that we would maybe get 1 or 2 new threads a day if we were lucky, now there is constantly new threads and conversations going on.  I've gotten to know the regs much more and it's been awesome, and there are a lot of newer posters and ones that have been around for a little wihile already too and it's been great.

I'll totally pull out some individual love:

Shan - I kinda feel like you're an old BFF from high school when we talk (even though it's been forever that we have).  I really think we would be BFF's in real life.

Kara- You still amaze me everyday with how young you are, and I think you are awesome and incredibly mature.  I can't wait to meet you in VA!

Stan - You  crack me up on the regular, and I love your love for the country and all branches (even if you are biased for the MC!).  I really hope you guys eventually get orders to the east coast as well, but I'll definitely just enjoy your company here and on FB!  And your wedding video made me cry, which is rare!

GGirl- I love that we share the Buffalove, and I'm sad that we both weren't on this board before we moved away from there, or knew eachother in college.

Hike- I think you're a great mod on here.  I'll admit I wasn't sure when you were first named, only because you hadn't been around that long so I didn't really know how you were or would be, but now that I've gotten to know you I think you're pretty kickass and a great mod, and I love how this board has become.

C - I feel like you, me, and Stan (and TX) are the only ones that are here from way back when, and I love it.  I was genuinely happy for you when you got engaged, and feel like I've gone through this entire process with you!

Irishcurls- I'm really happy you've made your way over here!  I love when you pull out your sassy side in posts, but you still always keep it classy!

FTL - I'll admit that I wasn't too fond of you when you first came around, but you've definitely grown on me.  I feel like you (almost) always are in a cheerfull mood on here, and seem to keep the board in a better mood.

CAB, Spiffy, Binx, Crown, Amanda, and Med (and whoever else I can't think of right now) - I think you guys are great additions to the board and I lvoe getting to know all of you.

Okay that's all I've got for now!

I am on board the GTG train. I've liked so much having people who know a lot and are willing to share their knowledge as well as support. I'm just starting to really meet people on base (it's 'Trunk or Treat' next weekend), and having you ladies is making this transition so much better than it would be otherwise.
