Marine Corps Wedding

Hi all,

I just started my wedding planning and am almost over-whelmed with details and decisions. I'm hoping to have a traditional Marine Corps weddingbut in a very intimate setting as there will only be about 50-60 people. Any and all ideas/thoughts are appreciated!!

Congratulations!

I can't really help with any specific ideas right now... maybe later if you have some more specific questions those would be easier to answer. 

General suggestions are to make sure you set a budget and then book your venues as soon as you know where you want to get married. After that you can look for vendors (caterer, DJ, florist, photographer, etc.). Happy planning!

That's how many people we had. H wore his uniform, we had an arch, we cut the cake with his sword, we had an anti-aircraft gun as our altar and were married between two helicopters, you know the regular stuff.

Where are you located? Are you wanting to get married in a church?

How does your FI feel about having a traditional Marine Corps wedding? Just keep in mind, It is infact his job and he may not want that incorporated on his wedding day. I mean I LOVE my job, but I wouldn't want company logos everywhere. Just, make sure FI is on board with it! Some of the women on here their grooms didn't want military anywhere near their wedding.

H wore his uniform and he had a grooms cake with the USN logo on it.

If you want to go full on USMC, Stans wedding looked awesome, and the pictures she has posted are just great!!

Not Marine Corps, but FI and I are both Army and are doing a full Army Wedding. FI will be in uniform, all GM will be in uniform. Doing the Arch, butting cake with the Sabre. Also all Military guest (Males) will be in Uniform. Invitations were addressed by Rank (ie...Major and Mrs. John Doe) and included the line Service Dress Invited, which lets them know to where thier uniform if they want.

Believe it or not, a lot of Service guys would rather throw their Dress Uniform on then wear a suit or tux!
