Who are your teams?

Who don't you like?

And I like the Jets too... I like the Titans now that they have Hasselbeck because I'm pretty upset that we let him go.

As a true Seahawks fan, I hate the following teams, in order:
Rams
Steelers
Broncos

And of course the Raiders, just because.

I couldn't care less about professional sports haha! But, if I HAD to pick an NFL team, I would say Packers because I'm a WI girl. And for college, the Badgers. But I care a little more about them because my cousin is on the team

I've never really followed NFL but the teams l try to keep up with: the Jets (mostly because my ex was friends in high school with Mark Sanchez), Falcons, and 49ers. FI is a Raiders fan... Now for college, it's 100% SEC. Mississippi State is my number 1, and Auburn is usually a close second. Man I love football!

Pro: I'm going to have to say the Rams. Mainly because a friend of mine now plays for them. Haha...I haven't actually watched them, nor do I know how they are doing...but ehh

College: My team is the University of Oklahoma.. I know several guys on the team and I go to the university...so I kind of have to cheer for them. Otherwise I'm pretty sure my friends would disown me.

Hate: I hate University of Texas, OKlahoma State University, any SEC team.

Who ever Alabama is playing, The Gators (I actually refuse to drink Gatorade because of them.. I'm a Powerade kinda girl), Tennessee, Oregon, Gamecocks, LSU when Alabama plays them.. otherwise, I tolerate them. Oh! and I hate Tim Tebow.

Who do I hate with a fiery passion, who's colors make me nauseous, what team forever segregates friends and neighbors August-January?:
Auburn.

I kid you not, where I'm from in Alabama, if your neighbor is an Auburn fan, and you're an Alabama fan you don't talk from August until the holidays, when you die it is printed in your obituary who you rooted for, If an Alabama fan has the misfortune of falling in love with and marrying an Auburn fan, you can bet money that the grooms cake and 70% of the wedding gifts will be with  "A house divided" theme.  Ahhh college football rivalries.. goooooood stuff. Over dramatic.. yes, but it's real and it's deep..

Mel- You broke my heart when you said Auburn. And Amanda just hates the SEC cause it's the best conference and she knows that the Sooners are ranked number 3 behind two SEC Teams.

I respect anyone who cares enough to cry. Although I do like making fun of Tim Tebow while making this face to fans of his

Buffalo sports does that to a girl though.

I can see how you'd feel that way, and I'll admit that I want to tell those kind of fans that all the time too. But it's hard to deny that the SEC is one of the most talented conferences in college football. Just look at the national champions for the past 10 years... how many of them were SEC teams?

This is what most people don't understand..In the South football is practically a religion.  We live football here. The SEC region is one of the most heavily recruited areas in the country.  Not to mention the SEC Coaches will fight for the players they want.  These players are nurtured for their entire college careers.  Fact: The SEC sent 10 teams to bowl games last year. 10 out of 12 schools. The SEC has a 15-6 overall record for bowl games. SEC has never lost in the BCS title game, going 7-0 since the BCS was born in 1998, 5 of those teams being the most recent. This year it'll be played in SEC territory which will only help whichever SEC team is in the BCS Game. Oklahoma & Florida State, are the only 2 teams who regularly play in SEC territory, but aren't in the SEC and that's okay, but show me another conference with as much talent, tradition, and pride, and I will gladly eat crow... but there isn't one. 

I don't think your comment was flameworthy, so much as I think it was snarky, and hateful to call most SEC fans "pompous asses". Clearly you're not meeting the right fans.  Jokingly talk trash, with anyone and still be in a good mood about it, but when you start name calling is where I politely tell you to get over yourself. You're generalizing SEC fans and that's just rude.

ETA: Mel-I totally understand the Family Loyalty part and I can totally respect that!

Yeeeeah Amanda you sound pretty snarky with that comment...
I mean... I am not from the south (although I root for Tennessee!!!) and even I understand the crazy die-hard experience football is to that area of the US :P
FYI we try hard not to generalize on this board (or when we do, we  make it extreeeemmely clear that this is a simple generalization based on personal experience and by no means the general rule of thumb). Your remark didn't come off that way at all....

H is a GT and UT fan. We're both die-hard football fans, but I'm a Seahawks fan so it's easy for him to root for my team and love them, and vice versa. I wouldn't call H a pompous a$s just because he (we) roots for a team in the SEC... 
A TON of people have some serious school pride. I think that's a great thing. It can be obnoxious, sure, but at least they have something to be passionate about... just avoid the conversation of football with them?

I'm not a crier with football (well.. there have been a couple times...) but I definitely scream bloody murder. H has never seen me so mad as I can get when watching football hehe
Stan I didn't realize you rooted GT as well. What's the history there?

I work with a few born and raised Southerners and they will  still go to the high school football games, even if their children don't play or go there anymore because they support the team. It's a hugeeee thing and one of the biggest differences I noticed being a yankee and all in the south :)

College: The USC (The University of South Carolina) Gamecocks, University of Iowa, Bama and UGA (only because of H).  I am sure that some will notice there are three SEC teams in my list know that when USC is playing either of the teams I am a Gamecock first and always!  HAA H and I make wagers on the USC/UGA game.  The loser cooks the winner's fave meal.  It is a win/win for both.  Oh yeah did I mention that I am up 2-0 now.  HA!!!!  I also pull for anyone playing Clem-suck!

Pro- Tampa Bay.  They have a pirate ship in the stadium how could not like that!  Oh the Saints.  I am in love with New Orleans and have been for like 20 years!
