Invitation styles - help me pick!

My Mom and I disagree on which style looks better - we both like lace on the invitations but one of us wants ivory lace on IVORY pocketfold with blue details, the other wants ivory lace on BLUE pocketfold with blue details.

I'm not telling who wants which, but I'm curious as to what you all think looks best!

Here's the inspirations:

Here are my mark-ups of what it would look like, dunno how well you can see these on TK though!

I really like the blue one better.  I'm sure it would look different in person, but to me it just does't look like the colors go together on the ivory pocketfold.  The blue is a pretty bright blue, so it looks really nice where the ivory is offsetting it.  But on the ivory pocketfold the blue looks too harsh against it.  I don't know if that makes sense because it's the same colors, but that's how it looks to me.

Sorry if the ivory pocketfold is your choice!

I <3 Blue, it's my favorite. (think Buddy the Elf and smiling)  I also think the blue pocketfold pops more.

I want honest opinions, even if it contradicts what I think.  But I won't reveal which one I prefer until tomorrow!  I feel like as honest as we all tend to be, we like to spare reg's feelings sometimes, and I'd like to see which one the general majority seem to like.  You ladies have often opened my eyes to looking at something in a way I hadn't thought of before, so it's worth it either way!!!

I like the blue one better.  The other one is perfectly nice, and it's very "traditional wedding" KWIM?  I'm all for tradition, but I also tend to like offbeat things also.  That being said and knowing what I do about your wedding, either one would work, but the ivory one might go with the venue better.. Ugh.. Now I'm torn..

The more I look at them, the more I really don't like the ivory.  Again, sorry if that's your choice!  I have seen a lot of your inspiration pics and your color scheme, and I think your colors look gorgeous together.  But for some reason on the ivory pocketfold the colors look like they don't match.  Plus it looks like it has 3 colors (ivory pocketfold, white paper, blue accents), and it just doesn't flow like the blue one does.

I really really love the blue pocketfold one!  The ivory one to me says "you're invited to our traditional wedding, which may or may not be fun."  Where the blue one is exciting and automatically says "you're invited to our awesome wedding which is guaranteed to be a fabulous time!"  I mean, invitations give your guests the first impression of what your wedding will be like!

I was so torn on this, I really like both. On the one hand, the blue is fun and modern. On the other, the ivory is so vintage. It totally goes with what you've shown us as far as your sash and shoes and other accessories. So, even though you really can't go wrong with either, my vote was for ivory. I think it just goes better with my image of what your wedding will look like from what I've seen.

I love the blue one. It gives it a fun pop of color.  I also agree with Beach about the ivory one not seeming to match, but if you could change it to ivory paper instead of the white then I would really like that one too. Gah, hard decision! From what I've seen of your wedding inspiration/ideas, I think either would look great. But I still like the blue one better.

Melbelle - it would be all ivory, there will be no white.  Sorry, the mark-up is just used to indicate different materials, not different colors (you can't see the lace on the same color background - silly Adobe Illustrator!).  But it would be ivory lace, IVORY cardstock, ivory paper with blue matting and blue writing, or ivory lace, BLUE cardstock, ivory paper with blue matting and blue writing.  Both would have ivory envelopes, or maybe blue envelopes, I dunno, but that's not the important part right now.  The only difference between the two invitation styles we're debating is the bolded part - what color cardstock for the folder.

I am against the grain here. In normal life, I would have said blue hands down but I think the ivory is so classic looking. I'm usually the first to jump at something colorful but the ivory looks really elegant. I think the blue pops off the ivory nicer than the whit pops off the blue, if that makes sense.

Ditto the blue. It just pops out to me a lot more than the ivory, although if you are looking more for the elegant/classic look I would pick the Ivory. They're both beautiful!

Thanks for all the feedback!  I vote for the blue one, my Mom likes the more traditional ivory.  I'm willing to make a mock-up of both to see, but with our blue I feel like it is too harsh against the ivory cardstock and thus it seems to counteract the delicate feel we're going for.  Though the blue cardstock is darker, like others said, it really sets off the lace and ties in the blue font on the logo and the invitation better.

I'll post pictures of the mock-ups once I make them!  Thanks!

I picked the blue one, but couldn't really put into words why. After reading Beach's comment, I was like "yes! That's why!" I love the bold pop of color with the elegant ivory lace.

I suck at things like this. This is why my sister did so much for my wedding. I just don't know answers to these questions lol

Either way, I'm sure they will both look Great! (I can give support like it's my job though!)
