Tonight, wine with a friend and a pasta dinner :) Tomorrow I am going shopping for some gifts, getting a pedicure, and I think I might stay in and watch the last Harry Potter by myself. I'm kind of looking forward to just lounging alone and relaxing.

Good morning and happy Friday! I just got a new part-time childcare position with a private family who lives on base. So today I am meeting w/ her at the visitor building to get my visitor pass! We haven't made any definate plans for the rest of the weekend, but I really want to get out of the house. I'm thinking the art museum! They have a lot of neat stuff. I especially like the interactive exhibits, and the historical pieces.

    Morning ladies!!

H has duty today(his first one on this ship) so I won't see him until tomorrow. We don't have any plans yet for the weekend, but I promised to make him breakfast when he gets home(I always do on weekend duty days). We will probably see a movie or 2 because we get the tickets cheaply with MWR. We have been thinking about going to Busch Gardens and use our free passes for being military so if weather permits, we might go do that. I'd really like to start Christmas shopping too but people haven't been very good with giving me their lists!

Everyone sounds like they have a good weekend planned!

Tonight I will probably go to bed early. I'm lame on Friday nights. Tomorrow I'm going to the outlets to go shopping. I'm pretty pumped about that. I'm going to finish my Christmas shopping. (or start and try to finish!)

Hike: Where is this outlet you are going to? I wonder how far away it is from here. I was so spoiled with outlet shopping before because we had 2 in Vegas, 1 was less than 10 mins away from me.

Irish: Do you want the rundown from me? I don't think you should be that lost with it. I have plans on seeing it with my sister and her good friend next week when we go up for Turkey Day but I'm not sure yet because H doesn't know if he even gets Friday off and he's got duty that Saturday after! I'm waiting around for it first since we pretty much won't have Thanksgiving plans if he ends up working.

Spending time with my family :) Sunday I'm going to watch football with my BFF then go out to dinner with my ILs.

I dunno why but my ILs picked the one year H is gone to finally celebrate Thanksgiving! ack how am I going to be able to eat 3 DINNERS/LUNCHES without (1) exploding (2) gaining 15lbs (3)  being rude when I'm full. Although it's a good problem to have an abundance of family :)

ETA: My brain decided to shut off early on friday... edited abundance.

Tonight - we might go to dinner and celebrate, we're waiting on advancements to be posted.
Saturday - will be a major laundry day and cleaning day here - I need to get things together for our trip to KY for Thanksgiving.
Sunday - I have my rite of welcoming at the church on Sunday morning and then we are going to dinner for my birthday dinner. FI has duty on my birthday so he won't be able to be home to celebrate so we are celebrating on Sunday.

That's really about it here.. hopefully I can sneak in a ride this weekend.

Haha that's sort of what I figured. My girlfriend who suggested we see it was like "am i freaking you out by even talking about it??" It's just one craze I've never gotten into. It's like Harry Potter--I went to a midnight showing of the 5th movie (4th? whatever) with friends because it was fun but I've never seen nor read the others.

Irish: That's really the basis of it. It's not like HP where it can get very confusing if you hadn't seen or read the movies, I'm a HP nerd btw). Twilight isn't nearly as good but I've read all the books and seen the movies with my little sister(it's a thing with both my sisters lol).

Basically they get married on this one, spend time on their HM, she gets preggers, the baby inside grows too quickly, she might die, etc etc. There's probably going to be some kinda gross parts. All the werewolves want to kill her/baby except for the friend, etc. The previous movies haven't really been about anything but her being confused with the 2 guys, but she's always picked the vampire.. Okay, I need to stop rambling... haha

Um, I liked it. I had read the first 5 books so I knew what was going on mostly but never finished the series. In fact, I never really found out what happened to them until earlier this year. I'm not into fantasy stuff really...

I'm supposed to go to a progressive thanksgiving dinner tonight. But I feel completely icky and I may have to back out as to not infect everyone else.  I'll be spending the weekend probably in my apartment sleeping this illness off and studying for my exam, while writing a user guide for my project and a final paper for capstone.

I'm excited because it is only a few days away until FI comes home for the holiday!!! I haven't seen him in over a month and a half, it will be nice.

So, I had a problem last night, the guy in the apartment under me has a dog, a very annoying dog most of the time, but for the past two nights the dog has cried and howled and barked. The night before last it only went until I got home to 9pm, not too bad. Last night it cried until 2:30am. I'm thinking the guy is out of town and having someone watch the dog for him because I hardly ever hear it bark. I need sleep, I can't be up until 2:30. I don't want to be that passive agressive neighbor that leaves a note, but I also don't want to be that bitch of a neighbor that calls the landlord.  I'll probably just invest in a good pair of ear plugs.

<div>Yep she does! I never really caught on with the Team Edward or Team Jacob thing but I do think Jacob the actor is much better looking.  That's the whole story of this first part, the wedding, the HM(I think this is the part I'm most excited for, even though they took out many scenes so it wouldn't be R rated!) and her getting preggers up until she gives birth I think. </div>

Irish- here is the break down.  Vampires = get glittery in the sun.  Werewolves = HOT!  Bells is whiney a lot and chooses the pale vampire over the hot werewolves.  There you pretty much got it. Enjoy the movie.  :)

Tonight I am doing nothing as the temps have dropped below 60 which means inside for me.  Tomorrow I am going shopping, skyping with H and then a couple of friends are coming over to watch Hallmark Christmas movies and drink wine.  My mom gets here on Sunday to spend the week with me.

I'm thinking that is it, that is why I am hesitant to call the landlord, I mean I love dogs, but people that don't take care of them piss me off. I believe he is out of town because I have not seen his car around and normally he is quiet. I do hate the dog because he he always is running loose and always runs toward me aggressively whenever I go to my apartment, But the owner always apologizes.

I was supposed to go to the Twilight movie tonight with friends, but I'm still contagious!  Sad!

Anyway, I get really up in arms about the gender roles in Twilight and how bad of an example they are of a healthy relationship to the young audience who reads/watches the series.  Basically the warewolf, Jacob, is way nicer to her and takes care of her (not to mention that he's hot as sin), whereas she's willing to give up her soul (literally) to be with Edward, and talks about how her life isn't worth living without him, and when he leaves her (for her own safety) she basically just emotionally dies and nearly literally dies and tries all sorts of dangerous things so she can feel close to him.  It's creepy, and weird.  And she plays with Jacob's emotions because she doesn't want to have to choose between them.  And meanwhile, both the warewolf and the vampire could kill her at any point, accidentally, but she doesn't care.  I mean, it is just kinda wrong and not the example I want young ladies to see as an idealized relationship.  If I ever have a daughter who wants to read those books, I'll sit her down and have a conversation about the books and talk about relationships and making herself and her own well being her first priority at all times.

    *applause*

I HATE the acting in those movies, I'm sorry, it is just awful and makes my head hurt thinking about how conversationally awkward Bella and Edward are (I don't know has the acting gotten any better since the second one?) I'm pretty sure in the first movie they have about 1 real conversation without whining from Bella...

I also hate every point you touched on. This is the 21st centry, let's stop teaching little girls that they need men to be happy and feel complete. I donno about you ladies my FI does not complete me, I'm be whole without him. He makes me a better person, and my life is better with him...but I'd be just fine without him too.

    Good morning ladies!
This weekend will pretty much FI free :(
Tonight I am having a girls night with my 2 BFFs, going to this really cute fondue place called Hip Kitty. It's going to be a blast!
Then, Saturday and Sunday is wedding stuff. Going into Downtown LA tomorrow morning to order flowers, get brooches, and other wedding related items.
*BTW, I decided to do a brooch bouquet last minute. As if I don't have enough on my plate.
Sunday, wedding stuff again. Making poms, etc. Busy Busy BUSY!

CAB you must post a pic of the bouquet when you are finished with it.  I have seen some and they are really pretty.  Didn't Miranda Lambert or one of those country singers have one?  I love that idea.  I am not at all crafty so I would never have been able to do it.

Cal- agree warewolf Jacob is hot as sin and confession I watch the movies so I can see him walk around without a shirt on.
