Good morning ladies! H and I have a lazy day planned for today since he is off but I'm still working. He said he doesn't want to leave the house today if he doesn't have to, and has already planted himself in his man zone with CODMW3. Eh, he doesn't have too much time left to be able to just sit around the house being lazy, so I'm okay with it today.

Tomorrow we go to buy a house!! I can't wait!

Oooooh, DnBeach, a house?!!! Do you have pictures of said house? I'm really excited for you! Good luck!!!

Amanda, have you read the books? I felt like the dialogue in the books was pretty awkward, so the material isn't great. Bella is whiney in the books, too. It's just the character, a petulant teenager.

Apparently the author has some kind of relationship-ideals based on her religion that she puts into the plot, which makes sense. But seriously, it's just entertainment as an adult, but I'd be really skeptical about any child of mine becoming too involved in these books and plots. Like, the message I want them to have is not "I love you even though you aren't good for me, even though my family hates you, even though you hurt me because you want to protect me. I love you so much that my life isn't worth living without you, and if you leave me, I'll curl up in a ball in the woods and hope to die, and if I'm rescued just be miserable and cry constantly and not have any friends because I'd be better off dead than without you. And if you come back, then I'll give up my soul and my family and all my friends and my very humanity to be with you." I mean, seriously?! That's not romantic, that's sick.

[QUOTE]I was supposed to go to the Twilight movie tonight with friends, but I'm still contagious! Sad! Anyway, I get really up in arms about the gender roles in Twilight and how bad of an example they are of a healthy relationship to the young audience who reads/watches the series. Basically the warewolf, Jacob, is way nicer to her and takes care of her (not to mention that he's hot as sin), whereas she's willing to give up her soul (literally) to be with Edward, and talks about how her life isn't worth living without him, and when he leaves her (for her own safety) she basically just emotionally dies and nearly literally dies and tries all sorts of dangerous things so she can feel close to him. It's creepy, and weird. And she plays with Jacob's emotions because she doesn't want to have to choose between them. And meanwhile, both the warewolf and the vampire could kill her at any point, accidentally, but she doesn't care. I mean, it is just kinda wrong and not the example I want young ladies to see as an idealized relationship. If I ever have a daughter who wants to read those books, I'll sit her down and have a conversation about the books and talk about relationships and making herself and her own well being her first priority at all times.

This is the only part I can agree with knowingly, but from what I've heard about everything, you're right on and it's sort of a strange relationship anyway. And he sort of ruined "water for elephants" for me, so anyway.

Good Luck!! House buying is fun! Don't get too stressed out about it! I think my favorite part was seeing so many different houses!

FI advanced so we are going out for dinner tonight I think. Not sure where we are going to go, but hopefully somewhere fun. We kind of need to watch our spending since we are doing a lot of driving/spending next week.

CAB - Thats going to be prettyyy!! I can't wait to see pictures!

Kara- we'll be there tomorrow night! Yep, still in C-town. I think I've mentioned it on here before though too, but I'll keep it in code. We have it narrowed down to 9 houses that we want to look through while we're there, with two that we love for sure. We have done tons of research on the houses before we narrowed it down, and looked them up on Google Earth to check out the neighborhoods and stuff, and can't wait to just be there already!

I read part of the first one because everyone else was doing it.... and just couldn't finish it. It was just too painful. I never really saw what everyone else saw in it...I felt weird reading something written for teeny boppers. Not really my cup o tea. I only watched the movies with my exroommate because she was a crazy fan girl.

Beach: I am sooo excited for you! Don't forget to share the pictures! H and I did the same thing before seeing the houses in person too, I loved using Google Earth. You might want to check them out too at night and see how it is there before choosing your final one(this was recommended by the office housing). We drove by places first, then met with the agents, then checked them out at night just to be sure. Also, I know you and H will be busy.... but how about a mini GTG? Haha

Hike: I have no idea where that is... Do you know how far that is from Richmond or Williamsburg? Those are like the BIG cities I can think of that are like an hour from here.. I need to learn my geography out here!

Going to my grandmother's to do early Thanksgiving/her birthday since we can't come up on Thursday. FI ran the battery down on my car, so we tried to recharge it enough to get to an AutoZone or something, and it just won't. So now we have to change the battery ourselves, I have no idea how to do it, and we certainly don't own the tools. I have a feeling this may be an expensive and expletive filled afternoon. He thinks that he can just buy the tools and do it, but he's not the most mechanically skilled person ever, we'll see.

I also have gone from doing Thanksgiving for 2 to Thanksgiving for possibly 8, assuming his family comes down (they don't have a kitchen, so this is really their option for a cooked Thanksgiving meal).

Have you guys seen "Mark reads Twilight"? It's hilarious.

Haha Hike that is definitely quite the autocorrect!

Kara I'll definitely let you know! We get in too late to start with the realtor tomorrow, so we are starting on Sunday. We rented a car though, so I think H and I will drive around to the houses tomorrow night to see the area and the neighborhoods at night. We had been told the same thing by the housing office there, so we definitely want to see them at night! I'm really hoping we can pick a house right away and get things taken care of ASAP so then we can spend some time getting to know the area. I can't believe it's tomorrow already!

Hi ladies! I haven't been around much, I feel like I've missed quite a bit. :(

Beach- Yay for looking at houses! How exciting.

I will not be watching Twilight this weekend. I've never read the books or watched the movies. I don't have anything against people who do, it's just not me. haha Have fun those of you who are though. I hope it lives up to your expectations! I know sometimes movies never do in comparison to their books.

Tonight FI and I were supposed to go to a gun raffle but FI has a huge hangover and I have a 7 page paper due (which is why I haven't been around much) on Saturday that I'd like to have completed by tonight.

Tomorrow we have FI's cousin's 6th birthday party. Then who knows. I haven't seen FI since Sunday because I've been tied down by this stupid paper and work. So it'll be nice to hang out with him this weekend.

Sunday we have FI's stepdad's family thanksgiving. We always have it the Sunday before Thanksgiving as to not interfere with other family functions on the day of. Though, this year FI and I have nothing to do on Thanksgiving. I'm running the local Turkey Trot and then we have no where to go. Blah. I'm sure we'll find something.

Have a great weekend all :)

FTL I love the centerpieces. I can see your point in adding a little something else though. Would adding a dark brown or silver ribbon on the vase with a big bow be the texture you're looking for? Or are you thinking more "in" the centerpiece?

Okay great. Thanks ladies. The texture I'm adding sure add a little more darkness to them as well so the mums don't seem so random and off. haha.. we'll see what H comes back with. :P
