    fun :)

    1)  What is your first memory of your BF/FI/DH?
well, we met on eHarmony, so my first memories of him are of the super long emails we used to send each other. We took turns asking each other questions and just telling each other about different parts of our lives. He's always sent me pictures of things he's seen that he appreciates, and he sent me a beautiful picture of the sunrise over his hangar one morning. I like the fact that I have many memories of him/our relationship from before we met in person; and honestly, from all of this, its uncanny how well I could predict his mannerisms when we did meet.

as far as my first memory with him, I very vividly remember the first time we met. We met in an IHOP (neutral place) and I was late (ha!). He drove up to VA to meet me and had stayed in a hotel the night before because I was working a 24 hr shift. It was so neat to finally meet the man who had become my best friend in person. Of course, he totally butchered his first attempt to compliment me (his words? "You're smaller than I expected".... bahaha, so romantic babe) but it was a great ice breaker and is a very fond memory to both of us.

    2)  What is your favorite memory as a couple?
hmm. I'm not sure what his would be, but mine is hard to pick. We've had a lot of really memorable, wild and crazy dates. I would have to say that a top contender would be our second or third date. He asked me to cook but surprised me with a romantic outdoor picnic setup. It was the middle of summer, so he had gotten a bunch of citronella candles and such. We watched the sunset while eating dinner and we had dessert and wine; we stayed outside lying on the picnic blanket with my dog, talking until the dew settled at around 3:30 that morning.

    3)  What is your first childhood memory?
    haha, see number 4

    4)  What is your favorite childhood memory?

okay, I don't remember my childhood. Seriously. I had a horseback riding accident when I was 13 and I don't really remember anything from before that memory wise. I didn't lose any memory of words, math, etc, but I don't remember anything specific from my childhood. Some of this is probably because we had moved around a lot when I was younger, so I didn't have continuity with my friends, etc.... but yeah, it's a running joke in the family. We watch home movies for fun sometimes just because I don't remember the things that happened in the home movies.

    1)  What is your first memory of your BF/FI/DH? The summer before 6th grade, I was sleeping over at my cousin's. She also had a friend over, who had a crush on this boy from her elementary school. The friend made me call this boy to see if he liked her too. That was my first time talking to my FI! 2)  What is your favorite memory as a couple? The day he proposed...that whole day. It was all just very romantic and emotional and exciting! 3)  What is your first childhood memory? When I was about three, my mom was outside and I was hungry. So I grabbed the phonebook, flipped through the yellow pages until I found pictures of pizza, and called one of the stores! When they asked what I wanted on it, I yelled out the window to ask my mom. She came in and took the phone to let them know we didn't need pizza. 4)  What is your favorite childhood memory? When I was about 7 or 8, it was New Years Eve. My mom and I spent the whole day together, ice skating and watching fireworks, and I got to stay up past midnight. But pretty much all my favorite childhood memories are with my mom, I love her!!

    1)  What is your first memory of your BF/FI/DH? Hahaha first memory cracks me up. I was at a happy hour with mutual friends, and just before H showed up, my good friend's H said: "Oh this guy is really smart, really nice, you should think about it." Then I see H through the bar window in a too tight polo shirt, walking like he was carrying two buckets cause he was "so huge." I actually turned to my friend and said: "bleh!" Haha that'll teach me....

    2)  What is your favorite memory as a couple?
Hm, our wedding day was pretty spectacular.

    3)  What is your first childhood memory?
When I was 3, I remember walking into the new house my parents bought and thinking the family room was the biggggggggggest thing I'd ever seen.

    4)  What is your favorite childhood memory?
Oh man, I have such great memories of our family vacations in Maine. We'd rent a cabin on a lake with family friends every summer.....I need to get back there!

    1)  What is your first memory of your BF/FI/DH?
I was sitting on the grass right next to the Washington Monument with my back towards the White House.  It was Sept 7, 2008 and I was at my first kickball game, though the season had started two weeks earlier so everyone else had already met so I was nervous about being the "new girl".  This guy walks up in capri pants, velcro strapped shoes, a tight (and short) sleeveless shirt, and a pageboy cap - I immediately thought he was either gay or European.  Turns out he was neither!  He had lived in Europe for awhile, and had bought the capri pants, velcro shoes, and cap there.  I knew he was super cute.  I very much remember sitting there, on the grass, and having this Adonis walk towards me.  I was very glad when I realized later he wasn't gay!

    2)  What is your favorite memory as a couple?
This one is tricky.  If I have to pick one moment, I would probably say from one of the trips we've taken together.  The single memory I'd pick would be from driving around Costa Rica without any reservations anywhere, just exploring.  We got stuck in bad traffic entering one town, so I stuck my head out to look at what was going on, only to realize it was a parade!  So I had FI (then only BF of 5 months) pull over, and we went to explore.  It was like this special moment we had stumbled upon - it was a local festival and parade.  And we stood there watching, the only outsiders, and I was translating the announcing as best I could for FI as we watched.  And then I heard (in Spanish), "And thank you to all our visitors who have come out to see how proud we are of our town."  And I looked around and didn't see any other visitors, and then I realized the announcer was in a bus literally right next to where we were standing and was looking at us.  So I told FI to wave and smile, and he did.  It was just a cool moment, and I loved that we both got to experience these things together.

    3)  What is your first childhood memory?
My brother was super sick as a kid - he had a very low white blood cell count, so essentially he had no immune system (yes, a 'bubble boy').  So my earliest childhood memories have to do with that.  The doctors had given my parents a very low chance that he would survive past age 5, but my parents had persevered and found a clinical trial where they would transfuse blood every month and give him drugs to try to boost his own immune system.  They were at the last stage and were testing him to see if it would work.  If it didn't, the backup was a bone marrow transplant, and I was the only match, so I remember my parents explaining it to me and I was crying as I told them I would do it.  Apparently I thought it meant they had to cut off my legs to give him the bone marrow, which my parents quickly corrected.  And later that day, I was in the kitchen when my Mom got a call.  She immediately dropped to the ground and started sobbing, and I was scared.  She picked me up and carried me outside to where my Dad and brother were and started screaming, "His test was normal!"  He got a blood test result that said his body was actually producing white blood cells.  It's a pretty awesome childhood memory.

    4)  What is your favorite childhood memory?
Well, besides the previous one, probably playing with my brother.  On sunny days, my parents would kick us outside and not let us in until dinner (well, to go to the bathroom and grab lunch, but you get it).  We'd create crazy make believe games and had awesome imaginations.  He has always been without a doubt my best friend.

    fun idea!!

    1)  What is your first memory of your BF/FI/DH?
I'll go with the night we meet. I asked him for his number 3 days prior and we texted alll that day. He came up to see me at work (I worked at Arby's - I had just gotten out of a bad situation and it got me on my feet till I could find something better) Anyhow.. he texted me and told me he was there so I came outside and he was leaning against his truck - he had a white chevy silverado (yum, i miss that truck) and he was wearing cargo shorts and t shirt, and he just looked.. hot. And he was so nice and just really listened to me about my day. We ended up going to Ihop after work on a double date with my friend whitney and FI's friend. (they didnt work out). So we ate at Ihop and he was such a gentleman, hed open the door for me and the whole 9 yards. We went ghost hunting/driving around afterwards and then back to his barracks to watch Saw IV and had our first kiss that night.

Edit for clarity - We meet in a Drive Thru, and it was really brief - very flirty flirty - not much convo except for when I asked for his number.
    2)  What is your favorite memory as a couple?

My favorite memory.. yikes. I dont know. I think I'll go with homecoming, either the first one or the second one. Just thinking about it gets me teary eyed. That feeling of having him in my arms for the first time in 6+ months just gives me goosebumps. The feeling of just pure joy, excitement, love, happiness is just amazing.

    3)  What is your first childhood memory?

Um.. I remember my brother and I had this room in our old house, I was like 4 maybe. And the rooms faced each other and had a joining bathroom - it made a huge circle. And I would just run and run and run all around it.

    4)  What is your favorite childhood memory?
Favorite? Hmm... I would say shopping days with my mom. Or my first concert with my mom. We would go like twice a year and just shop, grab lunch, and just spend time with each other - although now shopping together is a no no for clothes at least. My first concert I was 8 and she took me to a Brooks and Dunn concert with Montgomery Gentry.

    1)  What is your first memory of your BF/FI/DH?  This is not the first memory of H but it did happen on our first date.  We talked and thought it would be fun to have lunch and then take our dogs for a walk on the beach.  The dogs got along famously we while we walked and talked on the beach.  We got back in the car and we were driving down the road and all of a sudden there as tempers flaring between Roxie and Gunner.  Needless to say there was a dog fight in the back seat.  I jumped over the front seat (while the car was still on motion) grabbed Roxie and pushed her to the front seat and then held her on my lap so they could not get to each other.  I swore that I would never see him again after that.  I was wrong and now Gunner and Roxie are the best of friends and the rest is history.

    2)  What is your favorite memory as a couple? I would say it was the night he popped the question.  It was the 4th of July and we were at the Outer Banks.  We were sitting the board walk overlooking the harbor drinking beer and eating boiled peanuts.  We had just watched a couple get married at the little light house and just before the fireworks started he asked me to marry him and of course I said yes.  He was very nervous to take the ring out since we had just heard about that couple in MA/NY/NH (I can’t remember the state) lost the ring in the ocean.

    3)  What is your first childhood memory? I was a prissy little girl that always wore dresses however, I only had boys to play with in the neighborhood.  They would tell me that I was a dumb girl and couldn’t do boy things like race a big wheel or climb a tree.  This one time I was determined I was going to race them on my big wheel.  We started to race down this really big hill and my big wheel hit a bump in the road and I flew off  my big wheel knocked out two of my front teeth.  Needless to say I had blood all over my little dress and missing front teeth.  The boys saw all of the blood and stated to cry.  When my mom got there all I said to her was “look mommy I beat the boys” with a blood stained dress, two missing front teeth.  Mom took me to the doctor to make sure I was not really hurt and I told everyone I saw that I had beaten the boys.   Later, the missing teeth was accompanied by a black eyes, fat lip, scraped up and bruised face and body with no serious damage.

    4)  What is your favorite childhood memory? My mom told me that when we moved and if there was a fenced in yard I could get a dog.  Little did she know we had a fenced in yard.  So we went to the local animal shelter and when we walked up this little beagle mix started to whine, bark and jump up and down.  Without hesitation and without looking at any other dog I said that was the one I wanted.  Everyone tried to tell me to look around but I said that dog was so happy to see me it like me.  We go that very dog.  I named her Cutie and she was the best dog ever!  I had her from the time I was 8 until my sophomore year in college.  I was completely devastated when she died.

    1)  What is your first memory of your BF/FI/DH? We met at a Halloween party that was at this big party house. He and his friends were dressed as 80s glam rockers, and his name for the night was "Axe." And he was talking in this horrible English accent. I was dressed as Moneypenny from James Bond, but people kept mistaking me for Sarah Palin (this was Halloween 2008-so right before those elections).
    2)  What is your favorite memory as a couple? Probably just driving around in my old Buick. When we first got together, we didn't go out a lot, and my roommate didn't like him, and he didn't drive, so we would just tool around in my car all night.
    3)  What is your first childhood memory? The first time I had strawberry cake. I think I was 5 or so, I just remember coming through a doorway in my aunt's kitchen that had streamers all over it and then the taste of strawberry cake, which is still one of my favorites, but at the time I thought it was really weird.
    4)  What is your favorite childhood memory? Probably when we went to get my first puppy. I got her as a birthday present, so it was January and really really cold. We bundled up and drove to my parents' friends' farm, which seemed forever away, but was probably under an hour. We went into this warm barn and there were all these puppies, and I picked the speckled one.

    1)  What is your first memory of your BF/FI/DH?
Well, l met him online, so my first memories of him were our emails and IM's back and forth. We did that for a couple of days, and then he called me. That first call lasted like 6-7 hours! We met a couple days after that, at a place called The Rainforest Cafe (it's a super touristy type place, and it made me laugh that he would pick it, but he had just moved to CA from AZ, so there's that.) Our first date lasted so long! Like over 8 hours! We went to lunch, then movies, then dinner, then drinks, then makeout sesh in his car for an hour LMAO! 3 weeks later, he tells me he is in love with me, and I didn't even know we were exclusive!

    2)  What is your favorite memory as a couple?
The first date was for sure one of my favorites, but my all time favorite was when he proposed. We don't do romance, but that night was soooo romantic and sincere on his end. It was one of those things where it hits you like "oh, so THIS is what its supposed to feel like". We went to a restaurant called the Castaway, which is a really pretty hilltop place looking over the city. We had a long dinner, and towards the end, I made a silly comment about me "giving up on him proposing". When we were leaving, he said he wanted to go look at the view. So, we start walking to
the prettiest view spot, and then he asks me if I really gave up on marrying him, I say no, and then he gets on his knee.

    3)  What is your first childhood memory?
I remember being really little, playing at the park with a little girl who was African American. I think we were the only two kids there. Anyway, our moms were sitting there watching us, (obviously) and I start putting dirt on my arms and legs. My mom asks what I am doing, because I am like rubbing it into my skin and getting mad. I tell my mom that I was trying to look pretty like the girl I was playing with. The little girls mom starts crying, and tells my mom that earlier that day someone had made racial comments to her and her daughter, and it broke her heart. I totally thought I was in trouble, and I remember crying, and the lady thought I was crying for her! She was like, hugging me and thanking me for thinking her daughter was beautiful. I was soooo confused lol but I love that story, and I feel a little AW telling it, but seriously, it was such a crazy thing to know about racism at such a young age, so its a very vivid memory for me.

    4)  What is your favorite childhood memory?
Going to Mexico with my cousins (like 20 of them!) and playing in this huge mud pool in the middle of the street after some hard rain. We were a messsss! But it was so much fun!

    1)  What is your first memory of your BF/FI/DH?
The very first time I ever saw him. I was a freshman in high school, and he was a senior. He was best friends with my friends older brother and they all sat in this huge group in the gym during lunch. My friend and I walk up to her older brother and start talking to him, I turn the other way and there he was. I though he was sooo cute! I ask my friends brother who he was and said he was hot. He goes thats Lee and he'd NEVER go for a girl like you. I was like crushed, haha. But look at us now, engaged and completely happy!

    2)  What is your favorite memory as a couple?
This would probably have to be the time we went skiing together the first winter we were dating! We'd been together about four months and we were still getting to know eachother. He taught me how to skii while he was trying to snowboard. That definitely brought us a lot closer!

    3)  What is your first childhood memory?
I was only like 3 or so, we had a white cat with a little grey patch on her head. Her name was, of course, patches haha. But I use to put her in my crib with me all the time. One day I guess I hugged her to hard and she scratched my face. Leaving a long scar right down my face. My mom was so mad she made her be an outside cat after that. Later we found out that I am alergic to cats and my mom was even more mad haha.(:

    4) What is your favorite childhood memory?
I use to idle my older brother! He was EVERYTHING to me when I was really young, about 6 or so. So, there were two other boys in the neighborhood and he would always make me stay home with my older sister, she was prissy, I was a tomboy, and we didn't really get along to well. But anyways one day he looked and me and said "hey Kate, wanna come ride 4-wheelers at Kris' with us?" You would not believe how happy my little 6 year old self was!

I loved reading all these posts. :) Just what I needed on my first day back at my stressful job. ;)

    1)  What is your first memory of your BF/FI/DH?
Well my first memory is of the day we were supposed to meet. Our mutual friend had been trying to get us to meet each other. He invited both of us to a party at his house and I spent SO long getting ready with my friend that night. I even curled my hair!  (which I never do) I was so excited and nervous and didn't eat the entire day so I could look skinnier. Hah. Well turns out that my friend didn't tell him that I was going to be there and he had other plans so he didn't show. I was so pissed at my friend. I still tease FI about it. Almost a month later we eventually met on a double date with our mutual friend and his current GF. I remember driving fast and nervously as I tried to put on makeup. (it was a last minute get together and I didn't want to miss this one!) I walked in and saw him and thought he looked quite a bit different from the picture my friend had showed me of him. He was actually better looking. :)  I sat down and he wasn't even making eye contact with me. I totally thought he wasn't interested. He later told me that he was so nervous and thought I was so pretty. :) He also confessed to sweating through 4 shirts before our official first date. Haha so cute.

    2)  What is your favorite memory as a couple?
When he proposed. It was so special and magical and I completely wasn't expecting it.

    3)  What is your first childhood memory?
Oh gosh, I can't remember. Probably biting into an apple and losing my tooth. That's sticking out in my mind right now. I was probably 6.

    4)  What is your favorite childhood memory
Maybe when my mom used to chase my sister and I around the house pretending to be a monster. We would scream and laugh as we ran away. I would run so hard and hide somewhere! But now when I think about it, what was she going to actually do to us if she caught us? haha

How fun... Let me think :)

    1)  What is your first memory of your BF/FI/DH?
I met DH at a Super Bowl party. He was sitting on a bar stool next to another random party guest. But that's not my first memory... This is:
We met up with some friends for happy hour, and after everyone left, there four of us left. Our married friends, and us. We decided to go get BBQ. He teased me about not getting meat and only ordering sides (I'm a vegetarian). We chatted the whole night, and became good friends. Eventually it became something more...duh!

    2)  What is your favorite memory as a couple?
Our wedding day! But probably this moment from the night.

    3)  What is your first childhood memory?
Hmmm... I was about 3, and my family was in Mexico. My uncle was in a parade, and my mom went to take a picture of him. I thought that she had left me, and I stood alone crying. My dad was right next to me.

    4)  What is your favorite childhood memory?
My brother and I would tie together our wagons, and go through the neighborhood collecting recycle goods. Then we'd take it all to the recycling center and earn money.

I’m a little late, but I have a slow day at work today...

    1)  What is your first memory of your BF/FI/DH?
It was at a college night at my campus church, and I think it was some sort of party in the spring semester. I had been to most of the events and I saw a new guy talking with some of my friends. I remember sitting on the table talking with this guy who had NO interest in my what-so-ever, Was obsessed with his GF, and later found out he thought I was slightly obnoxious. That was the first time we met. We didn’t talk for a good 6 months later, and we didn’t even remember each other. Ha! It was only after we saw pictures taken that night that it jogged our memories.

    2)  What is your favorite memory as a couple?
So hard to pick, I have written 5 things and then thought of something better! The first time he took me home to meet his family we went to his church. He is like the favorite son of everyone involved at that church (with his parents both being in the choir and he used to be an alter boy...everyone loves him), so I got to meet his “family”, but being a church favorite has it’s perk... he had access to the church steeple, which they had just redid the insides to be ‘safer’... he of course did not know my extreme fear of heights and takes me up to the very tip top of the church steeple. It sounds like a really strange favorite memory but it was a lot of fun to and as strange as it seems, when he was helping me overcome my fear of heights, I knew this guy was a keeper! (I just realized both of my memories had something to do with the church. Oh goodness, we aren’t that church crazy I promise.)

    3)  What is your first childhood memory?
when I was 3-4 I had just learned to swing by myself. I remember thinking I would jump off like my older siblings. I jumped off and my shirt got caught. In my mind, my shirt completely tore and I was bleeding all over the place. In reality, it was a half inch snag and I had a scratch. Haha.

    4)  What is your favorite childhood memory?
When I was 5 we lives in a neighborhood with a lot of kids. I was in love with one of the boys. I even remember his name, and he was pretty much my boyfriend. (Haha) We had a date one day, I went to his house and we had lunch which was grilled cheese and soup and watched Barney (yuck, his favorite) and Lamb Chop (My favorite). I remember before lunch he wanted to drink his kool-aid instead of with lunch and I was so annoyed in my head, I remember thinking I could never marry a boy who would drink his drink before lunch. (Yea, I don’t get it either.)
