Question!!

I can’t find these answers on the internet & I’m really not in the mood to talk to all of India today.

-I decided to go back to school to finish my degree.  I’ve gone to school before, took out a loan to cover the cost and received a grant as well.  I stopped going 2 ½ years ago & I’ll be finishing my degree at an entirely different school.  My student loan debt is pretty hefty already and I’d rather not add to it, so my plan is to pay for the remaining courses out of pocket.  What I’m not sure of, is whether or not a grant is onetime thing.  And would my plan to pay for my classes myself, rather than take out another loan, make me ineligible for another grant.

No biggie if no one knows the answer, I know it’s not a common question!

Do you know the school you want to finish your degree with?  I also see that you would be going to a different school.  Since you are transferring in credits some universities have transfer scholarships.  The place I work has scholarships for transfer students that almost cuts the cost in 1/2.  Also, meet with a Financial Aid counselor.  All universities have them.  A grant is typically not a one time thing it is however based on income in most cases.  I would also talk to your university about a payment plan.  Again where I work you can do a payment plan that is set up each month.  It makes it easy for students.
