Especially the Secretary Designate. He was head of the CIA. He knows all about PERSEC puzzle pieces, I'm sure.

I changed my signature because I went back to my profile and realized that, with names and some of the info on there, it would be possible to piece together our actual location. And actually, iluvmytxranger, I have had experience with stalkers, but not because of anything I put online, and yes, it is frightening. That being said, in regards to Leah's husband's and my man's Lt., he is aware that half of his Plt has open Facebooks where they talk about liberty, homecoming dates, etc., so he has FAR greater things to worry about than our names.
That being said, I'm going back to the "child bride" sites, as calindi put it on a different post. Good luck to you ladies :)

</div><div>I understand defending your IRL friend, but she's wrong here. There was a lot of info on you. You guys are wrong about PERSEC being no big deal, I think you know it, but like most young people, you find it necessary to keep fighting. Generally, I'd let it go, but this is a security issue for people besides yourself. </div><div>

Wow, I can't believe this post turned so... ugly. Am I missing something? The girls are being protective of you and your man... I saw nothing negative about what they were doing. Anyway, girls, I got something out of this, and made all kinds of changes, so thanks! Laughing

You misunderstood my post, I did not say the Lt doesn't care, I said he has bigger problems to worry about with the guys in his plt than our names on a wedding site.

That's like saying we shouldn't worry about rapists because there are murderers.  There will always be bigger problems, but that doesn't make the smaller problems less of an issue.

I agree with Stan - it looks very childish to keep arguing a point just for the sake of arguing.  PERSEC is important.  If someone truly disagrees with that statement, then they should be the first to post their social security number, home address, birthdate, and bank account number.

Am I the only one who finds in comical that they think this was us "chewing someone out"?

Clearly someone forgot their big girl panties when they logged on..

If your H and his friend said it was okay to kill a kitten would you do it?

Where were people rude? People answered her question, responded nicely and said oh by the way, maybe take your last name out. This doesn't even have to do with military security. It's common sense! Why would you put your identity all over the internet on message boards of people you don't know? That's like getting into a van because a guy says he has candy. You  just don't do it.
