I absolutely HATE giving speeches in public, but as the MOH I have to give a toast at my sister's wedding tomorrow night. I typed this up as a sort of guide to what I want to say more than a word for word memorized speech. So what do you think about how it sounds? Any ideas or suggestions on how to improve it?
As sisters, S and I have been through many things together. We’ve laughed, both with each other and at each other. We’ve cried. We’ve fought A LOT. Sometimes I think we have more inside jokes and stories than any human being could possibly keep straight. And because of all of this and so much more, I know without a doubt that you found your perfect match in B. I remember the first weekend you brought him home to meet the family… At one point, we were sitting out in the backyard talking and almost like you had it synchronized, the two of you started swatting at mosquitoes that didn’t seem to be biting anybody else. That was the moment I remember leaning over to Momma and saying “I think they’re perfect for each other, because he’s like a male version of S!” In the time since then, I’ve come to realize that my first impression was pretty dang accurate. I think the two of you are perfect for each other, you complement each other in every way, from your taste in music and food to the way you both are “always right”. I wish you a lifetime of happiness together, and I hope that you always remember the love you have for one another at this moment. I love you both, and to B… Welcome to the family.
PS - sorry this is sort of a post and run, but I've got to get some sleep. I'll be back on in the morning.
