    1. What color socks are you wearing?
    None, I'm barefoot :)
    2. Are your nails painted? what color?
    Nope!
    3. What's your favorite Thanksgiving Tradition?
Being lazy in PJ's all day.
    4. Favorite Wedding Tradition?
Uh... idk. Eating food, dancing, and drinking? Is this a tradition!?
    5. What are you most thankful for this year?
I'm thankful for our wonderful home, to be enjoying Florida, to be planning a wedding, my family, my dog. I'm just really thankful for everything I do have. OH! And that I will get thanksgiving day and black friday off - paid! (only half pay, but its progress!!!)
    6. How do you feel about the "Elf on the Shelf" tradition?
    Whats this?
    7. Any weekend traditions or rituals?
Sunday is church day. Other than that we don't really have any. Although Friday night tends to be coupon clipping night - but I'm doing that tonight.
    8. What kind of desserts are hoping will be on your Thanksgiving table?
Hard to know since we will be at the IL's. Fingers crossed for crumble apple pie. I might make it and bring it along.
    9. Worst Holiday memory ever?
I don't think I can really think of one. We had one where my dad was deployed for christmas, but that doesn't qualify as 'worst' holiday ever. We've been very lucky so far. Although, my family has a jinx on New Years Eve - someone always gets hurt. 1 year I burnt my hand, next year my father sliced his hand open, year after I broke my toe, etc...
    10. Do you like the Thursday questions?

I don't know if this is what my mother was doing with the elves but I have never heard of that tradition before.  Interesting.

My mother used to put these really creepy elves on our mantel over the fireplace.  They were seriously the most creepy and outdated things I have ever seen.  It got to the point when we were all in college and finally my brother asked my mom to stop putting them out.  We confessed that they really creeped us out.  It got to become a really big joke and my mom would randomly put the elf in random spots without us knowing.  Like in the bathroom, our bedrooms, etc.  Just to creep us out. haha

Since we will all be home for Chrsitmas this year.  I might have to get the elves out.

    1. What color socks are you wearing?
    White
    2. Are your nails painted? what color?
They are unpainted. I threw out all of my nail polish like a year ago cause they were so old, and just haven't bought more. I do like having them painted though but then they chip and I forget to repaint them.
    3. What's your favorite Thanksgiving Tradition?
At my house we put up our Christmas decorations on Thankgiving. We do this because 10 years ago we moved across the country and couldn't afford to spend the holidays with our outer family. So to make the day special my mom allowed us to put up decorations early, and now its something we do every year.
    4. Favorite Wedding Tradition?
I like the bouquet toss, but I like most cutting the cake. Mostly cause I'm a fatty and I love cake. I think it's cute though to sweetly feed each other cake. I don't think it's cute when they shove cake into their faces.
    5. What are you most thankful for this year?
The time I have with my FI. The roof over my head and food in my refridgerator. As Americans we truely have no idea what it means to be hungry or homeless.
    6. How do you feel about the "Elf on the Shelf" tradition?
My mom has one from the 60's! I think it's creepy but it's very special to her.
    7. Any weekend traditions or rituals?
My 4 year old, nephew always comes over on the weekend I don't just much time alone with FI then, but during the week we get alot of time together so it's not that bad.
    8. What kind of desserts are hoping will be on your Thanksgiving table?
I need a new recipie. I am all into baking and pies so I need to try something new.
    9. Worst Holiday memory ever?
When I was little my little brother used to get vomiting fits on Christmas morning, so we (my sister and I) had to wait for him to finish throwing up to open presents. He would go so excited he would just start puking. This went on for like 3 years.

Best memory though was the year the Christmas tree fell ontop of my brother after we waited for him to stock puking lol! He was fine but it was hilarious!
    10. Do you like the Thursday questions?
    sure!

    1. What color socks are you wearing? None, I am wearing black sling backs

    2. Are your nails painted? what color? Yes toenails, always.  My mother said you should always have those painted. Color name- William Tell me about OPI.

    3. What's your favorite Thanksgiving Tradition?

    4. Favorite Wedding Tradition? First dance.  I love seeing people dance with their spouse for the first official time.

    5. What are you most thankful for this year? For my family and friends, for H remaining safe during this deployment

    6. How do you feel about the "Elf on the Shelf" tradition? The Elf creeps me out.  He looks like he might come to life and kill me.

    7. Any weekend traditions or rituals? Sat during the fall it is College Game day for me then followed by a day of football.

    8. What kind of desserts are hoping will be on your Thanksgiving table? Low carb diet so no sweets on our table this year.  In the past I love my mom’s pecan pie with ice cream.

    9. Worst Holiday memory ever? Last Christmas.  Drama in the family and we decided to host a brunch.  Well my aunt and cousin were an hour late and didn’t bother to call us until they were ½ hour late.  Needless to say I was mad, H was mad and my mom’s feelings were hurt.  The next time I cook a dinner and invite them, hell will have frozen over.

    10. Do you like the Thursday questions? TOTALLY.  I use a “T” word to answer this Thursday Tradition Questions.  J

    1. What color socks are you wearing? Red and green candy can striped ones that FI picked up from Wal-Mart to surprise me. I'm easy. Slippy socks (I've worn out all my pairs from BBW) are one of my favorite things.
    2. Are your nails painted? what color? FIngers, no, I just put this treatment on them called Instant Artificials, it seems to help them get a little thicker. Toes are a glitter gold called West End Wonderland.
    3. What's your favorite Thanksgiving Tradition? Ours have changed a lot over the years, but we always went to my great-aunt and uncle's out when I was younger and my grandmother would give us all the Thanksgiving Day circulars in the car so we could start our Christmas lists.
    4. Favorite Wedding Tradition? I really love cake.
    5. What are you most thankful for this year? My boys (FI, Archie the dog, Huck the cat-I'm so outnumbered). The ladies on this board who keep me sane. My family.
    6. How do you feel about the "Elf on the Shelf" tradition?
I wiki-ed it. I can see how it's cute with little kids, but it seems strange to me. I always liked a good Advent Calendar, though.
    7. Any weekend traditions or rituals? Big Saturday breakfast. Bacon, eggs, biscuits (even though I congenitally suck at them), grits. I like sitting down and eating together.
    8. What kind of desserts are hoping will be on your Thanksgiving table? Since it looks like I'm cooking this year, probably a chocolate-hazelnut torte; it's the one dessert I can make beautifully.
    9. Worst Holiday memory ever? When I accidentally blabbed to my little brother that we were getting bikes for Christmas. Not traumatic, but I feel really bad about that now.
    10. Do you like the Thursday questions? Totes. I think it's fun.

I actually don't think there is anything I asked for that I didn't get. That makes me sound spoiled doesn't it? But it's true. My parents were pretty awesome and savvy shoppers for Christmas. Heck, a few years ago I wasn't expecting a Christmas present from my parents since they paid for my plane ticket to Florida. They got me a Kindle that year. It was such an awesome surprise.

I always wanted an easy bake oven too. Never got it. I blame my parents for my lacking cooking and baking abilities.

ohhhhh duh, ok, now I know what Elf on the Shelf is. The family I used to work for and lived w/ for a time did it last Christmas. When the mom had to work 3rd shift (nurse) her H would forget to move it. The first time I had to make up a story, telling the kids the elf couldn't safely get to the North Pole that night because of snow. The next couple of times I just moved it myself before the kids noticed!

I kid you not I wanted a Barbie Hearse. I couldn't say horse when I was 3. Poor little me had NO idea why everyone would laugh when I told them what I wanted for my birthday/ Christmas.

I also wanted a "baby uh-oh"...all I got was the knock off baby who never actually worked right... maybe because I gave it a bath? I don't know.

Since I have a b-day really close to Christmas, I always got to pick out one really awesome Barbie for my big present. It was always one of those "Around the World" ones, I loved my Spanish one. Of course I didn't keep them in the box or anything, so they might've been worth something, they're all in a big Rubbermaid thing somewhere.

yellow with silver Mickey Mouse's on them :)

    2. Are your nails painted? what color?
I just painted my toes red to match my dress for the ball tomorrow night... haven't decided if I'm going to paint my fingernails though.

    3. What's your favorite Thanksgiving Tradition?
Football... although I miss the days when the MS State-Ole Miss game was actually played on Thanksgiving day. I had some fun Turkey Days in Starkville back then.

    4. Favorite Wedding Tradition?
I love the "something old, something new" thing.

    5. What are you most thankful for this year?
Finally being out of the classroom and into the clinical part of my education. and of course, my family, friends, FI, and my future in-laws. They're pretty awesome.

I've never done it, but one of my cousins does with her kids and they all love it. It seems fun for the kiddos.

Church on Sunday, football on Saturdays in the fall.

    8. What kind of desserts are hoping will be on your Thanksgiving table?
    pecan pie, it's my favorite!

    9. Worst Holiday memory ever?
Christmas 2 years ago, it was just a few weeks after my aunt had passed away and it was just a sad night for everybody.

Love them! Keep 'em coming, Sami!

The Barbie Dream House always looked so cool!  I wanted one too, but instead, somebody in my family actually made a Barbie dollhouse for me and my sister.
