I don't think it necessarily even has to be "run" by anyone.  If Katelyn wants to make a post everyday called QOTD, then knock yourself out, and make it whatever you want.  But if anyone has a good idea for a question, or something they would like discussed, I think it's dumb that they need to PM it to her, like we are in school and need to wait for the teacher to decide when our question will be dealt with.  

I think if you have a question or topic you want to discuss, make a post whenever you want, by whoever wants to do it.

I suggested that because that's how other boards do it and it always runs smoothly.

Personally, don't care. It is nice that  there is a daily question incase the board gets slow. But If I have a question I want to ask, I'm going to ask it...I'm not going to sent it to be reviewed.

I think it's silly to have to PM somebody about a QOTD idea... I know I wouldn't ever take the time to do that. I like the idea of multiple people getting to ask a question, but maybe instead of nominating somebody, we could do like a weekly signup or something? My only problem with nominations is that if somebody did come up with a good question but wasn't a reg on this board, they would never get nominated to be question-asker. Personally, though, I think this whole issue could be resolved without all the drama if Katelyn would just take the advice of making it more interactive and less wedding-related and not get all defensive and upset about it. Make it more of a get to know each other better thing, and I think more people would enjoy it.

What if......(I'm in Brainstorming mode at work..)

Each day of the week has a QOTD theme?  They used to do this in a month board I used to be in.

For example each day of the week would have a different "theme"  say Wedding Wednesdays., Fun Fridays....I can't think of any other alliterations but you get the point. So if you DON'T want to talk about wedding stuff just don't look at the QOTD on wednesday, or if you don't want to have fun... don't look at the question on Friday.

And maybe just the first person that has an idea for that day posts a QOTD... if not... no big deal. I don't think there has to be a set person.

I don't see the reason for anyone to get butt-hurt about this.

Here's my opinion (again) - 

Just stop having a post called QOTD.  When you have a question or topic, whatever the topic, just effing post it.  It's not rocket science, and it shouldn't be this big of a deal.

And honestly, if you're easily butt hurt about it, then I don't even know what to say about that.

Responses I've been getting on this board have been getting me down lately so I'm not doing QOTD anymore since people obviously don't want me to and I think I'm just gonna cut back or take a break from TK in general. I have too much stress right now and seeing some of the comments just aren't worth coming on here much anymore for

Seriously, this could have been resolved by agreeing to have non wedding related questions. That's all anyone was asking. I have no clue how this erupted into ridiculousness. Again, katelyn struggles to take simple feedback.

I understand why zim posts about wedding stuff so much. This is the knot.com. I didn't even know this place existed until I was well into planning. I don't think that we have to specifically stay away from wedding stuff just because dnbeach asked zim too.That's no reason to get all huffy about it.. beach was just asking for them to be mixed up a bit more. Do it or don't, it was just a suggestion zimg. 

I also get why she volunteered to do it herself. It ran smoothly, it was easy. You could participate or not, we always had one so there wasn't a bunch of them at once, etc. I TOTALLY get that. There was a time that I would write a few hump day questions, although I was horribly inconsistent. For this reason, I totally get it. 

However, I posted an "open letter Wednesday" yesterday, and I don't expect that I'm the only one allowed to post that... It's on a ton of other boards, so I thought it would be cool to pull to this one yesterday. If beach or ggirl or kara, etc were to post one, I would not be mad. Sorry zimg.. it was a great idea but you didn't create it, so there's no reason to get upset when Calindi did one one day. 

I think we all think it's cool, or we wouldn't comment on it, but I feel like you're wanting the "credit" and I just.. don't think it's that big of a deal. Totally do it, just don't get upset if someone has a suggestion to mix it up more like beach, or post it one day, like Calindi... It's just a thread..

So, Katelyn will GBCK again then? Is it too mean of me to actually like this a bit? Sorry if that came out wrong, but I honestly have been getting so tired of her posts especially the QOTD. 

I read the QOTD today and that thread just got a bit ridiculous. Why is it that Katelyn can't comprehend one thing? I understand that this is TK and therefore WR questions are totally fine, but there are a mix of people on this board, married and married-to-be. I'm an old married hag and therefore don't really like to answer WR questions anymore, unless it's something that I chose to. Also, I know that if I have a question, whether it's something important or just a "fun" one, I know to post it whenever or wherever I can. I don't need to delegate it to someone who will post it for me.

I agree with all this, but like someone (I think it was Cal) said a few days ago, if there was going to be a QOTD, make it something more thought provoking

Personally, I feel like Katelyn just wants to do it so she feels like she "belongs" on the boards.  I think that all of that were here for the drama, will never fully trust her (I sure as heck won't), so I think that there will always be animosity towards her.  I am adult enough to admit, that I don't like her (or Kendall for that matter) and they both know that. I'm civil to her on the boards (for the most part), but would NEVER send her a PM with an idea for a QOTD so she, Miss High and Mighty Mistress of the QOTD post, can consider my lowly idea.  I forgot who said it, but the theme idea was great! Every Wednesday could be Wedding Wednesday, but perhaps thats it for the wedding questions.  I mean, it's a wedding website, and we all know that, but that means almost all of the new posts every day are going to be wedding related, so must our QOTD also always be wedding related?

If Katelyn would keep her big girl panties on, perhaps we could come to some sort of an agreement.  Last time I checked, we were all adults here... legally anyway..

o0o but I'm liking "wedding wednesday" and "thought provoking thursday..." and "manic monday" where people could biitch about whatever is driving them nuts. I'm into the alliteration. Ignore me. 

Great ideas ladies, it's unfortunate that Katelyn had to make this a personal attack--maturity is obviously an issue. I like this board being more active and chit chatty threads can be a great way to get that rolling!

I'm totally not trying to take this over, but I thought maybe since we seem to have come to a conclusion of sorts, we should organize our thoughts/ideas into a list.  And I'm still a little lost on where we are with the whole one person posting vs everyone posting... Someone please clarify this for me!!
