Military Brides

I know I should ask this on my local...

Did anyone find it in their interest to rent misters for their ceremony? How did you find it? We're getting married at 1530, and though it's in SD, it's 10 miles inland, so it'll be warm. Very warm. We can't change the time because our ceremony location is super specific about it.

I'm looking, and I've found a couple places, but they're expensive (like 500 bucks), and I can almost buy one for that.

Have you thought about fans instead? My only experience with misters was in Vegas and I didn't find water spraying me refreshing...

I have learned a lot about evaporative cooling in the last couple hours, and these are fancy schmancy misters that don't get anyone wet/leave condensation on surfaces. I'm with you, the ones that get you wet are gross feeling.

You mean to spray people with to keep them cool? Interesting idea! The Outdoor Weddings board is usually pretty slow but it's possible someone on there could help...

I haven't looked into this at all, but it sounds like it would be too expensive to be worth it for me. Especially if you're already doing other things to combat the heat like getting a tent for shade or supplying ice water or doing program fans or whatever.

We can't have a tent either, but will have water available (that's all we can have, because the O club wanted to charge us just for being *near* them. When you guys see where we're getting married, you'll understand. I wish I could just say it, but I'm paranoid. Too much Knot/Nest stalking.

I would just do fans.  I know my Mom would freak out with any kind of mister because her hair would frizz instantly, so I'm sure you have a few guests who would probably have the same issue.

Just rent fans - it'll keep them cool, as long as you aren't having like an hour long service.  And maybe do fans for programs?

    These are cheap and easy:

We likely will do the fan programs, and fans for sure.

Haha.. When I first read this I read "misters" and all I could think was "Why is Stan trying to rent men to be at her wedding"...

I would opt for just fans... Maybe you could dress them up a bit by tying ribbons on them cause I know a big bulky fan kind of takes away from the scenery.

'Stan I definitely also suggest fans as programs as well with it. I am getting married on the beach in Florida in August, so it will be extremely hot, so I am offering fans as well. Oh, and the beach bar is right there if anyone needs a drink :)
