It's early, but I wanted some chit chat before I go to bed!
How's everyone doing? Anyone in the Christmas spirit yet? I made a really nice personal pizza tonight for dinner, and I'm finishing up a paper on Roman architecture.
I just did some yoga and am feeling good!! H is taking a shower and we have errands to run and will probably grab some dinner out. And tomorrow is my friday, yayyy!
I just got finished trying on my bridesmaid dress for my awesome aunt who's taking it in for me by next weekend. I owe her a big time present for that! My plan for tonight is to get myself packed for a weekend with FI (plane leaves Friday, yay!). It's my first ever Marine Corps Ball, I'm so excited and nervous all at once. Sami, pizza sounds like an awesome dinner, what did you put on it?
Ugh!! So jealous!! I'm a freaking veteran (technically, but I don't feel like one..) and I have to work and go to school!!
Irish.. isn't your job somewhat related to genetics? or was that someone else. I've been really interested in blood typing lately (my mom and I have an appointment to donate blood together on Tuesday) and it's made me wonder things!!
I am making dinner right now while H is at the range shooting. My back is hurting from working around the house all day so I didn't go with him. H baked chocolate chip cookies before he left though and they're yummy! I am totally in the holidays spirit already, we've started asking people for their wish lists!
I'm slowly but surely gearing up for the holidays. FI got home and crashed out on the couch and I'm trying to get him to get up and go to the gym (he asks me to do that). It was supposed to rain and get colder today, but no dice so far. I have both no idea and too many ideas of what I want for Christmas, I'm also trying to figure out if we're going to do Turkey day here or not. Sami- Is Roman architecture as fun as it sounds?
And I think, with this post, I am no longer a newb.
Mmm Sami, pizza sounds so good right now! But FI has watch this week so he is sleeping, so I will probably just have a bowl of cereal after I do the dishes. Today was a pretty good day. There was a "flash sale" on chair covers on the site where I'm buying my linens, which I took advantage of! Between the flash sale and the monthly promo code, I saved $172 on my chair covers!! And I figured out we will have more than originally thought left over each month when we start getting BAH next paycheck, so that's pretty sweet! Hooray for not being dirt poor anymore! Irish- tomorrow is my Friday too
Mel- I used a "flat out" Italian herb bread and just put some low fat mozzarella and some homemade sun-dried tomato sauce that my mom made and canned up recently (I'm not big on sauce anyway so I only use like a tsp) and some procuttio (cause I despise pepperoni) It was ahhmazing!! Clicky <That's the bread I used. It smells soo good! I love it!
Divine- Sadly.. No, It's not really that much fun at all. Learning about it is fun, but its more the assignments, we have the same one every freaking week. I'm also fairly certain that our teacher doesn't really even look at our assignments.. mostly because I submitted a total crap assignment (Lots of C&Ping, and Wikipedia info) and not only did I get a 100, she was like "This was excellent work" umm parts of it weren't even in the same tense... ridiculous. If I have to compare and contrast wall coverings, arches or columns one more time I just may lose it. As of today however.. I have 1 more month left for this semester!!
Sami - WOW. That has me drooling. It sounds divine! Divine - yay for no longer being a newb!!! Binx - don't you love the feeling when you realize you have extra money? It's like a super-sized version of finding a $20 bill in your pocket. Hike - have fun in PA!
Ok, I'm off to find some dinner because I'm starving, and Sami's pizza talk is just making me hungrier!
I'm super tired and I have to work tonight after being called in to work today. I feel like all I do is work and sleep

I celelbrated my puppy's 1st birthday with scrambled eggs for him, Fi and I. Then Fi and I had a cake, while he got doggy presents of tennis balls, a rope and a little stuffed animal. He seems very happy.

OK-I'm about to have literally the silliest silly compliant in the history of silly complaints. I love nail polish. When I was employed I stayed completely up-to-date on collections (oh, yes) of them, particularly by my favorite brands, and would buy several bottles at a time, particularly when they had a favorite customer coupon or a BOGO or something. Since I have been (f)unemployed, I try to stay away from the sites, because I do realize how ridiculous my obsession is. I am hoping to parlay this into a career, and am signing up for classes on it in the Spring. The silly part: There are two colors of a rather expensive line that I have always coveted, but they were always sold out. Then they were discontinued, until the company started a "bring it back" voting poll. Again, hadn't been keeping up. So now I know one of them has been brought back and sold out again, and the other has been brought back and the pre-order happened almost a month ago.
Oh yes, I know exactly how completely ridiculous this sounds.

I really hate typing it out, because it's so ridic, but this particular brand runs $18 a bottle. I do only have 2 bottles of this brand, one of which was a gift. But, yeah, it's stupid, and it's definitely one of the most expensive brands (the formula is absolutely flawless, though). Designer brands can run from about 12-20, depending. I probably own somewhere north of $300 in nail polish alone. I do get a lot for gifts, though.
Please don't judge me, that was my indulgence through a very crappy job. And I haven't bought any new in probably 6 months.

No judgement at all. I think you should treat yourself to the bottle you've really wanted.

You guys are awesome. I think part of the crazy self-judgement is realizing that I spent a lot of money on silly things to make me happy because I was so unhappy at that job, even though I made good money. And now, even though I'm still looking (and really looking forward to starting new classes in the Spring), I'm so much happier. And I may just buy that as my own Christmas present. I am super-excited about my plans for other people's gifts, though!
Don't know if anyone here is a big Anthropologie fan, but this just showed up on a Facebook I follow: http://shopruche.com/ It's pretty similar clothes and aesthetic at about 1/3 the price.

Good to go. Didn't get tabs, so that will have to be done when i get my car in my name (waiting on the SS card for that)
