Re: Irritations

I had always heard of jewelry as a gift so I too was surprised to see people say if they're wearing it for the wedding it's not a gift
  • Yeah, I still don't get why jewelry is rude.  I mean, I guess conceptually I understand it, but like you ladies I certainly wouldn't mind it.

We're sending family invitations to people who have children living at home over 18 years old.  Oh, the horror!  But to be honest, this family and those 'kids' would probably think it's weird to get separate invitations mailed to the same house.

Yeah, I did that too. I mean, 1 house gets 1 invite. What is so hard to get about that? Ohhh, except for one of H's family friends and his parents. MIL INSISTED I send 2 to the same home. :/ Oh geeze woman.

I also did jewelry, and everyone loved it. Take that wedding etiquette.
  • My sister gave me a Tiffany's ring (but I was MOH)and my SIL gave Tiffany's earrings!  I would gladly take jewelry haha.

But I was talking about this earlier too, and I think expecting the bridesmaids to just show up is lame too. Not that they should be slaves, but I know my closest friends wanted  to help out and I didn't have them in the wedding! That's just the way our friendships are I guess.

I'm glad I read this thread.  I don't feel as guilty about giving my BMs handmade jewelry and flip flops (along with other things) as their gift!

Stag n' Drags are really frowned upon on TK but everyone and their grandmother has them here and people actually get ticked if you aren't having one.  (We aren't, mainly because that is like a whole other huge party to plan in itself).

I'm irritated because my best friend orchestrated a whole group of us to do this half marathon in DC next week, and now she says she doesn't think she's going to do it.  I've got news for her...she is.  Whether I have to walk the entire thing with her, she's doing it.

    Edited for clarification.

  • Yeah, that was my first thought too, about the longer showers.  LOL.

I can't stand it when people are in line at McDonald's and when they get up to the cashier to place their order they stare at the menu like they've never seen it before.  It's MCDONALD'S.  Do you want a Big Mac or McNuggets?  Because everything ielse s basically just a variation of those.
