Irritations

Anyine have any at the moment? I get irritated when people pay with a check at the grocery store but don't have ANY of it filled out until the total comes up and bags are all packed. Really? You couldn't write in the store name, your signature, and date while waiting? That might be irrational but I don't care. Also, dog hair. Enough said.

Re: Irritations

  • Hmmmm...
When people air their dirty financial laundry on FB. Ex:

"Our tax return was supposed to be back, now I'm stressed because I can't pay X bill"
    or..
"Gas in the car, or pay for our cell phones.... hmm." An hour later.. "No cell phones till the 15th, FB is the best way to get a hold of me" - REALLY?!?!

Learn how to control your money.

I hate that too Hike. And my next one (not saying I know all uniform regs) but ROTC people here can't seem to follow the rules. Parked today and saw one in uniform being all lovey dovey and PDA with his gf. Also yesterday, got done tanning and went out to the waiting room. A woman was sitting slouched in ACUs and hair down. I'm also irritated with all the professors that decided to unload big projects before spring break

amh - I can feel for the last one. I had a terrible phone plan.. When I got it I couldn't afford the unlimited phones (My parents didn't pay for my cell phone) so I got what I could afford... 3 years later and living on your own... 500 minutes just isn't enough, I often ran out of minutes and my plan was set up so you wouldn't have any overage fees (in other words..you run out of minutes... you are done for the month) I recently got on FI plan for the same cost as my old plan..

ETA - I read it wrong... my bad...

My irritation is sleep... why do I need it!? I could get so much more done if I didn't sleep, I wake up rested every morning.. and that has got to stop... I got so much more done when I was in college and only got 4 hours of sleep a night. I'm only half joking.

  • Haha Amanda. I wish I could skip sleep this week! I have so much to do!
  • Ohhh Hike, H's grandma does this. It's so embarrassing! AND, she makes the cashier fill it out for her, and then tells them (after its filled out) to ADD money to it so that she can get cash. This happens every freakin time. I always tell H to just do it for her, and she won't let him. I have refused to go with her to the grocery store ever since the 2nd time it happened in my presence. So damn annoying and embarrassing!!!

I'm irritated at H today. He took an extra 15 min shower, just cause, making me late to work today. I finally had to get in the shower and push him out, I was so mad. He already takes long ass showers, they usually last from 6:15-6:40!!! Today he was in until about 5 min before 7am, and that's when I ambushed him lol. So I was about 20 min late to work today. Thanks, H.
  • Holy crap! That's a long shower.i hate showering. I mean, I like being clean and getting clean but I take one as fast as possible. I have other rings I could be doing haha.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • @CAB: My showers are only that long when I have to shave my legs hahaha
  • CAB that sucks.  Hike I can't stand those people either.  UGH!!! Debit card...heard of it?!?

Mine today it the pollen.  As much as I love to see it because it means spring I am all stuffed up, eyes itchy and I sound like an old man.  YAY!!! Other than that nothing is really annoying me today.  It is getting close to spring break so the students basically checked out and H is home so life it good.

  • @Crown our break is next week and weather is crazy nice like 60* today. Everyone's gonna check out here too lol
  • Zim - I don't know what happened to me... I used to be able to go to bed at 2 and wake up at 6... now I go to bed at 10:30  and wake up at 6:45... such an old fart. This whole 8 -5 makes feel so wasted...

Cab - I  used to take long showers.... I would probably be in there for 30 minutes. But now the hot water heater in my apartment is a baby one (20 gals) and it a piece of....... I am lucky if I get 5 minutes before it gets cold.

  • Crown- remember that smell you said makes you feel like your home. That swamp smell? I'm irritated with that smell.i hate going for walks and smelling it. It smells like rotten eggs! I also hate that we have well water. It tastes like salt. I'm against water bottles but might have to resort to it.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • CAB-While FI can take forever to get out of the house (because he disregards my ideas to lay out his stuff the night before instead of searching for it), he does take really short showers, like less than 10 minutes.

I'm irritated at myself for letting myself go off of the leg shaving bandwagon since FI's been gone. I'm not a hippie (in that way), I'm just lazy in the shower and don't feel like using up hot water to do something that no one is going to see. But I'm hopefully going to see a friend of mine this weekend and it's getting to be summer dress weather here, so I feel like I should shave. Or wear jeans. But the longer I wait, the more difficult it's going to get.

And I'm irritated at my Mom for being all over my butt about doing STDs and sending them to everyone, and then, when I talked to her yesterday, saying that she talked to my aunt and maybe we don't need them and should only to VIPs who are out of town. Well, duh.
    image
  • Hike-I hate well water. And soft water. It has weird smells and I never feel like I'm all the way clean.
    image
  • AMH-People really do that? CAB-DH only showers that long when his back hurts. I'd lose my mind if he showered long all the time...especially if it made me late. I get irrationally irritated when people talk sh!t on the level of care at Naval Hospitals. Hulk-like irrational. You'd be complaining about the same stuff at a civilian run hospital.

You don't have to go to bottles. Get a Pur attachement to your sink or a Pur/Brita water jug for the fridge. H and I drink water like fish and it's easy. I spurged on those hot/cold cups at BBB for xmas. They don't sweat so I can load up as much ice as I want. :)

Confession- I pour water from the jug into Missy's water dish too. lol

We do have a sink attachment and it still tastes bad. It's terrible. We have one that is through our fridge too- an automatic one. That's the only water that is semi decent. I can drink it if it's ice cold but it room temperature.

    It's driving me crazy

  • I had a lot of irritations yesterday but I've since calmed down.

I still hate doing taxes. I thought I was being responsible and paying off my CC debt but since I took it out of my investiments Uncle Sam is taking the opporunity to bounce. D@mn you CC!

Shaving my legs irritates the hell out of me.

Yep, also another option that I resorted to in DC since the water tasted so metallic even after a Brita filter was having a water delivery system.  It's less wasteful for the environment since they re-use the bottles, it's usually cheaper than bottled water, and I loved that I could have instantly boiling water for tea and hot chocolate and stuff.

Oh, totally.  Leave in conditioner and all that, out of the shower, right?  RIGHT?!

And my annoyance is that I work in a windowless cave and my new colleague has constant personal phone calls and it echoes and thus I have a headache.

Ha ha ha ha! You're cracking me up today.
Ugh I have a co worker that does the same. Although we do not work in a cave, but she decides to walk allll the way to my end of the office to bitch out her ex husband, or mother, or really anyone. She's bitching someone out every day! I had to bitch her out last week because of it.
  • My rental community. It's a little on the ghetto side, but the people who work here act like it's this fabulous place that needs to "stay beautiful." We just received a warning letter from them saying we have "excessive garbage bags" and will be fined $25 if we don't take care of it by the 8th, when they will return to check. Umm, the lid of our garbage sticks up maybe 4 inches. It's not like we have bags of garbage on the ground. And garbage day is tomorrow, so obviously we will be bringing it to the road at that point. They can go fvck themselves.

</div><div>I do too!  I was told unfiltered well water can lead to kidney stones, so I'm not running that risk with us or the dogs.  We might eventually get a filter system on our well, but we have super clear and clean water for now.  I just don't drink it.  Or the dogs.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA  This was my first thought too Cal!  LMAO

Crown- maybe I missed it in another post but YEY for your H being home!! Is it R&R or for good?

My main irritation right now is with myself.  I totally underestimated how long it would take me to get back in shape after the baby.  I'm learing the hard way that remembering being in shape is totally different than actually being in shape.  I registered for a half marathon at only 15 weeks postpartum and for the first time I'm actually thinking I may not be able to complete it.  :/

  • Awe Hike...you hate pluff mud?!?! How...haaa I know it is a smell that not all people like.  Oh and I hate well water down here.  It does taste like salt.

TeamBaby- R&R not home for good.  I will take what I can get.  Bright side this means we are closer to the end than the start.
  • I have another irritation... I think it is a little silly how some people get with etiquette. I get being nice to your guests and all. But some of the threads I read on TK are just stupid.  One girl was asking for a to-do list for day of to give to loved ones that offered to help.]

No one gave her suggestions on her list but attacked her about how unless she was paying them..she shouldn't expect people to do anything for her. MAYBE I just come from a helpful family… but people just step up and help without being asked. My FMIL was offended that I wanted to pay the caterer to cut the cake instead of her teacher friends doing it for free,  The woman’s club offered to clean up the next morning, And Future aunts all have contacted me asking to help set up the day of.   I don’t see anything wrong with giving them tasks if they ask. I think sometimes people get so engulfed in what is right and wrong and forget we don’t live in a black/white world. There are plenty of gray areas.
