Hartness House Review (Springfield, VT) ~ Review

When we set out date and decided we wanted an intimate wedding, we quickly narrowed our options down to 5-7 venues throughout the US. After reviewing what each had to offer, we settled on the Hartness House in Springfield, VT. Although we'd never visited VT, we loved what we saw online and the staff was so responsive to our questions that we were convinced that this was the place for us.

Price: We were unable to find comparable prices for an all-inclusive ceremony. Everything exceeded our expectations - the venue was clean and the staff very welcoming and friendly. Our breakfast was delicious and made to order. The ceremony was personal and fit our personality well. The officiant was great and had a ceremony script perfect for us. The photographer exceeded our expectations! The cake, dinner and toast were the perfect ending to a wonderul weekend we will never forget.

Venue: If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, this is not it. BUT if you appreciate history and antique furnishings .... original hardwood floors and Victorian style furniture, this is the place for you. The Hartness House is over 100 years old.

Food: With the exception of the Belgian waffles the first morning, everything was delicious (fresh fruit, champagne, wine, french toast!, salmon, omlette etc). Our wedding cake was a simple yellow cale with beautiful chocolate roses ~ it was more than enough for us and once again, we were pleased.

Officiant: David and I spoke before we arrived. Like the remaining staff at the HH, he was very responsive, funny and friendly. It was a pleasure to have him lead our ceremony.

Photography: We didn't know what to expect, but Alex was AMAZING! We spent a little over an hour after our ceremony taking photos with him. The next morning at breakfast he delivered our DVD!!! We watched it before we left and were extremely impressed. It was nice to be able to leave with our photos.

Other: We knew we were getting fresh flowers, but once again - did not know what to expect. Alla delivered a beautiful bouquet and boutonniere. We liked them so much that we packaged them up to bring home. Since the HH is an older property, we thought the spa would be older as well. Quite the contrary! All the equipment is new. The spa is extremely spacious. It was such a treat to have the entire spa to ourselves for 2 hours before our ceremony and we enjoyed each and every feature available!
