Small wedding in Jackson hole!

Hi all

My fiancé are in the VERY early stages of planning a small destination wedding in JH for 25 people total. We'll likely do an outdoor ceremony, but I need help with th reception! I want to do a nice sit down dinner - followed by some dancing (likely just music on an iPod). I love the idea of doing this at a restaurant with great food vs. a hotel or ranch. Any ideas?

Thanks!!
Ellen

  • Congrats & welcome to the Wyoming board!

I've seen some people do something like this at the Q Roadhouse. They have a large room with furniture that is easily rearranged. I don't know if the food/atmosphere would be what you want though, it is a pretty casual. Scroll down through this board and check out other posts. Some of them have pictures and descriptions for various places that might interest you.
  • Which month are you considering?  There are many lovely outdoor spots for a wedding although you may not have the option of using chairs.

Do you think all 25 will show?  Snake River Grill can hold 16-17 in their private room.

The Kitchen in Jackson does private dining

Couloir restarant on Jackson Hole Resort (take a tram up) offers views and intimate dining:

Rendezvous Bistro has this lovely outdoor deck area, but that's a dead of summer thing unless they have heat lamps.

The Peak restaurant at the Four Seasons can offer group dining. Although the guy kep pushing the more expensive room and never gave me all the info I needed on The Peak.

    Thanks so much, guys!

After vetting our guest list through both mothers, our list has grown to 35 people. I came across these photos of the Kitchen after I posted and fell in love - I've been playing phone tag with Erin, the event coordinator for Fine Dining Restaurant Group and I can't wait to find our more details!

The problem I am running across with smaller private rooms is that music is not allowed! I guess restaurants and venues worry about thin walls or something - which is why I think we may be better off renting out an entire restaurant like the kitchen.

I'll keep you posted but if anyone has any additional thoughts please pass them my way!

    Thanks again!
    Ellen
  • Rendezvous Bistro is also part of the Fine Dining Restaurant Group - but yes, they only have a curtain that separates the private room. Their deck does have heat lamps but they don't clear the deck in the winter.

One of the organizations I work for has rented out the entire Kitchen (it's a pretty small place) and we've had an all-out raging dance party. Loud as can be. We just had appetizers, but they were amazing. So you may be onto something there. I did have a little communication delay when working with Erin but eventually got responses. We ended up not using them for catering, as they were out of our price range.
  • There is a great small venue at Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis called the Terrace that comfortably fits about 40 people. It's private and they allow music. It has amazing views!!

    Hope this helps!
