I'm going to answer the questions first and then go back and read all the other responses.

    1.  Ugly brown flats.  My typical work shoes.
    2.  Pulled back in a sort-of bun. Again, my typica work look. My makeup looks good, though!
    3.  My weekend is tomorrow and Friday, and as of right now my only plan is to sleep and watch a lot of TV.  And maybe read. I'm exhausted.
    4.  I watched about half of it, then I got frustrated and turned it off.
    5.  I'm registered in another state (and totally forgot to register here and I think it's too late now) so I'm not sure if I'll be voting at all, but I will if I can get the day off to drive to LA.  If so, I'll be voting for the president.
    6.  No. Sorry, rdr.
    7.  Getting to see some of you girls IRL!
    8.  Ski trip to Utah!
    9.  I've heard Pitch Perfect is good.
    10.  Sort of.  It's cooler than it has been, but there have only been a couple genuinely cool days. Really it's just gone from sweltering to bearable.
    11.  Only because we're going skiing. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind if fall just lasted until spring.
    12. Diet coke.
    13. Yes! I think "The Ring" is my favorite just because I love the concept so much.  Watch a weird movie, die 7 days later... Nothing you can do about it.  That's freakin' awesome.
    14.  I want to, but I don't have any costume ideas or Halloween plans yet.
    15.  Reese's cups are my favorite candy any season.

    1.  I just started watching Parenthood on Netflix and got through the first season in under a week.  HOLY CRAP.  That show is sooo good.  How did I miss it when it first premiered?

    2.  I also refer to Lauren Graham's character as "Lorelai".  Like, whenever Sarah does something dumb, I'm like "Oh, Lorelai..."  I just can't stop thinking of her that way.

Elle 1. I KNOW! I just love the characters. And the family dynamics. Makes me want a big family even more. And the way everyone talks at the same time? Or over each other. And I swear some of the casting is near perfect. Like Haddie? So Kristina's daughter. And Jabbar totally looks like Jasmine and Crosby's offspring. Gah-so good.

Elle 2. Sarah is sorta Lorelai-ish. Not exactly, but kinda? Youngish mom who is close-ish with her teen(s)?

I actually did some googling to find out if those two actors were related IRL.  They soooo look like mother and daughter.  They even talk the same, but that part is just good acting, I think.

Yes, I love the way the show catches the big family dynamic (everyone talking over each other... all the subtle internal struggles hiding under the bigger, louder problems...) but it still manages to make sure no character really gets ignored. I feel like that's rare for shows that have such large casts.

Also, I'm kind of in love with Crosby. He puts all the drama in perspective.  Like, I just watched the episode where Sarah and Kristina got in a big fight because Amber and Haddie were fighting, and Adam was all stressed out about it... then Crosby starting wondering who would win in a cat fight between Sarah and Kristina and the tension just sort of broke. I love him.

I also JUST started watching Parenthood, and I am so mad that I haven't watched it before! I absolutely love it. She's definitely still "Lorelai" to me. I don't think that will ever change. Also, I was in tears over the PREVIEWS last week. And I thought they handled the topic about the n-word really, really well. I <3 Dax Shepard. I didn't know how much until I started watching this.

Obviously there are other reasons too, but, as a woman, some of the things he has said just make my skin crawl. Whether or not some of the things he has talked about will happen (because they won't pass the House/Senate), I don't want someone with those beliefs running my country. I don't think Obama is perfect, in any way, but how anyone could believe that ROMNEY is the lesser of two evils... seriously. Mind BLOWN.

    Daisypath Anniversary tickers

  • Bri- that's exactly how I feel. I'm not super excited about Obama this time around, but when compared to Romney/Ryan I honestly feel as if he is the better option. The comments he has made about the US population re: taxes, women's rights, etc. I just can't, in good faith, vote for someone who feels that way. A very conservative friend of mine told me this "war against women" is made up and is just a lie the Democrats are feeding us. Uhh what?
  • My favorites are the people on my FB who are voting for Romney because of that ridiculous picture floating around last week that supposedly showed gas prices when President Obama took office. I wanted to slap some sense into them and tell them to do some fucklng research.

  • Anytime someone blames the President (whoever it may be at the time) for gas prices, I have to reevaluate my friendship with them.
  • 1) What shoes are you wearing today?

My toms that have so many holes in them it isn't even funny.

    2) How are you wearing your hair today?

Messy bun, same as usual. I've been too lazy lately.

    3) What do you have going on this weekend coming up?

Working. Saturday we're doing mission work all day and I'm missing a football game and then Sunday is our huge fundraiser at church followed by an information meeting about our summer mission trip.

    4) Did you watch the debate last week?

I listened/watched it. I missed the first half hour.

    5) Who do you plan to vote for in the presidential election next month?

Obama. Although, it gets me made fun of, so I don't really express my views a whole lot. My firefighter friend and I share very similar political views, so we have each other's back at church.

    6) Does it bother you that there is no (NHL) hockey?

No, because our Houston team is minor leagues. And I really really wish I was into hockey more. FI did apply for a NHL job in the Northeast, but they won't look at applications until the lock out is over.

    7) What's something you're looking forward to in the next month?

Soccer season being over and (college) basketball season starting so that FI can finally start hearing back about these jobs!!

    8) What's something you're looking forward to in the next 3 months?

Our retreat in November, our mission trip in December, and finally entering the year I'll get married! And hearing back about FI's job applications. Can you tell I'm a little imipatient about that?

    9) Are there any movies out that you want to see?

Unfortunately, FI hates movies, so I usually don't keep up with what's out, which makes me sad.

    10)  Is it "fall" where you live?

Umm, it was yesterday. It's back to the high 80's today.

    11) Are you looking forward to winter?

Only because I got awesome boots and I want to wear them all the time!

    12) What are you having/did you have for breakfast today?

Quinoa with grilled chicken, corn, and black beans. Nom.

    13) Do you like scary movies? If so, what is your favorite?

No. No no no no no no no.

    14) Are you dressing up for Halloween?

Nope. I'm not a fan of costumes for Halloween. It bores me.

    15) What's your favorite Halloween candy?

    CANDY CORNNNNNN!

I listened/watched it. I missed the first half hour.  <strong>5) Who do you plan to vote for in the presidential election next month? Obama. Although, it gets me made fun of, so I don't really express my views a whole lot. My firefighter friend and I share very similar political views, so we have each other's back at church.</strong>  6) Does it bother you that there is no (NHL) hockey?

    1) What shoes are you wearing today?
    I'm not wearing any. :)

    2) How are you wearing your hair today?
    Messy bun

    3) What do you have going on this weekend coming up?
Friday, I may get dinner drinks with Sak and Mr. Sak. Saturday, we're going to see some friends of ours who just had a baby. I mayyy go down to the shore to see my college roommate who know lives in CA. She's going to be home for the weekend for a wedding, but mostly has family stuff going on, so I'm not sure if it's going to work.

    4) Did you watch the debate last week?
I was at work, so not really. We had it on in the break room, but I didn't see much.

    5) Who do you plan to vote for in the presidential election next month?
President Obama. I agree with Bri that Romney's views on women (not to mention that video of the fundraiser, that I think demonstrates who he really is, and how he views nearly half this country) are downright scary.

    6) Does it bother you that there is no (NHL) hockey?
    Not really.

    7) What's something you're looking forward to in the next month?
Vacation! I have from October 17th-November 6th off. So, so excited.

    The holidays.

    9) Are there any movies out that you want to see?
Argo, Pitch Perfect, Cloud Atlas (want to read the book first, though)

    10)  Is it "fall" where you live?
    Yes! And I love it.

    11) Are you looking forward to winter?
Yes! It better snow this year.

    12) What are you having/did you have for breakfast today?
I haven't eaten yet. I just woke up at like 12:30.

    13) Do you like scary movies? If so, what is your favorite?
Love them. Paranormal Activity scared the crap out of me. Also loved the original Halloween movies, and others that I'm sure I'm forgetting right now.

    14) Are you dressing up for Halloween?
I don't think so. We'll be in Florida. I may bring some easy stuff just in case.

    15) What's your favorite Halloween candy?
Twix. I also love the little pumpkins.

Just parts.  We were mini-mooning and it wasn't, ahem, our highest priority.

    YES!!

Same here I don't discuss politics at work, and for the same exact reasons.

<div>There are a lot of reasons why I can't fully express my political views at work, mainly because it's a church and as a staff member that teaches teens, I try to keep labels off of things, but I do present different opinions than what they hear at home. I've posted before about my Sunday school teacher who had the kids brainwashed to think that Obama was literally the anti Christ and the Republican party would be the saving grace of the nation. Oh, and that the kids should pray for Obama's impeachment/illness/death in order to save America. </div><div>
    </div><div>Ugh. I'm disgusted by him. </div>

  • Oh no Drew that is awful!

    Anniversary

  • 1) What shoes are you wearing today?
I'm barefoot (I'm also sitting on my couch).

    2) How are you wearing your hair today?
    Ponytail.

    3) What do you have going on this weekend coming up?
BFF's brithday brunch and hopefully seeing the lovely Liv on Sunday.

    4) Did you watch the debate last week?
    Nope.

    5) Who do you plan to vote for in the presidential election next month?
Obama. I don't love him, but I fear too many misogynist republicans in power will send women's rights back to the 1950s. Seriously, I think some of them would prefer us to stop taking jobs away from men, too. I was laughing at the women for Romney ad on TV the other day. Not a peep was made about any social issues.

    6) Does it bother you that there is no (NHL) hockey?
Yes. H wanted to go to a game because we haven't in awhile. But damn, in addition to no games, the prices here (SJ Sharks) have just skyrocketed over the last 10 years.

    7) What's something you're looking forward to in the next month?
    Halloween party.

    8) What's something you're looking forward to in the next 3 months?
My birthday and Christmas, though I would rank Christmas first.

    9) Are there any movies out that you want to see?
We just saw Hotel Transylvania. I'm not sure if there's anything else that interests me.

    10)  Is it "fall" where you live?
Sort of. The temperature has dropped a bit, but we won't get fall leaves until December.

    11) Are you looking forward to winter?
December, yes. But January, February, and March can go F themselves. The only thing I like is snowboarding, but it downright depresses me to leave work when it's dark.

    12) What are you having/did you have for breakfast today?
    Water.

    13) Do you like scary movies? If so, what is your favorite?
    Not really. I don't think I have a favorite.

    14) Are you dressing up for Halloween?
    Yes, as Giselle from Enchanted.

    15) What's your favorite Halloween candy?
I don't like any specific Halloween-themed candy. Just the same stuff I like in general: Twix and Almond Joy/Mounds.

<div>Yea... On my second Sunday, when I realized this wasn't just a one time thing, I asked him to leave politics out of the classroom. He told me to get out of his classroom. </div><div>
</div><div>The previous person in my position gave into that kind of shenanigans. If you know me but at all, you would know that didn't go over well. </div>

I am not an Obama supporter, but that even disgusts me. People can be really sick.
