I suppose I should make an introduction... I've been lurking a little while and posted a time or two..I'm NEY but the boyfriend and I have ring shopped several times in the last 2 months.  We've been together 4.5 years and are currently shacking up ;).  He's a great guy, and we've decided it time to make our lives together official.  I'm not planning on a long engagement and honestly want to be married this Fall.  I know it seems nuts but I think it's entirely possible without loosing all of my sanity.  (We'll see! Ha!)   I've been doing reasearch here and there and started writing down ideas and wishes.   Tomorrow we will be meeting with a venue, who essentially 'does it all'..... decor, flowers and food.  I'm excited :)Anyway, I've come to realize I'd better keep my skin tough around here, lol and I look forward to reading and conversing with you ladies :)Ashleigh

    I want a short engagement as well, so I can understand.  A lot of people will tell you there's no rush, and there's not.  But preferences exist, and some people prefer to have shorter engagements.Good luck with being married by this Fall though.  It's not impossible, but you're not going to be able to be as choosy as you normally would (depending on where you live certain vendors book over a year in advance).  I had a friend in law school plan a perfectly beautiful, albeit SMALL, wedding in one month, so it can be done.  :)

    TTC since 10/2010. 2012: HSG showed unicornuate uterus on right side; both kidneys and both ovaries present. High risk for preterm labor, IUGR, and C-Section. Dx'd Hypothyroidism.
    1st BFP: 10/27/12, cycle before we had planned to see RE

    Welcome! Planning a wedding for the fall is doable but it'll be tough trust me - I got engaged in April and we are planning our wedding for September and it's been fairly stressful but not horrible. I couldn't imagine trying to do what we want in any shorter time frame than what we already have - how soon are you looking to getting married? Sounds like you are your BF are on the same page about it all so good luck with everything!

    This is the venue: http://www.jiggettshome.com/ She has dates in November available.  I'm not choosy, so I'd probably take what she has available. I'm really proud of him... this will be his second marriage and my first... he's being very proactive with me and will help me with things.

    Sorry, yes it does have music.  At least you can turn it off though.... I despise websites that play music you can turn off!!!!

    I think it's possible.  GL. I remember when I was a teen, my parents renewed their vows in our large living room with cake and close family. it was really nice. The guy that did their insurance was the officiant (because he was also a notary). pretty low key and everyone had fun.

    So we're going tonight!   We'll be taking a camera and I'm going to print out a few of the ideas I had to show her...  Anyone have any suggestions on questions I should ask while I'm there??
