We found the ring!!

So today me and my future FI went ring shopping!! We went to what felt like a million stores and were extremely disappointed with the ring quality and sales people. So we walked in to the last store and we were matched with this sales lady who was extremely caring and helped us sooo much!!! She asked me a bunch of question and then she pulled the first ring and I fell in love immediately and so did my FI!! I started crying immediately and said thats the one!! and my bf also was like its perfect!! As soon as I started crying he said size her were getting that one! It was absolutely perfect and cant believe we found my DREAM ring and stayed in our price range! So excited right now!! Now I just have to wait till he proposes!! If any one is curious its a 2 carat princess cut diamond ring with diamond side stones with 2 diamond bands on either side of the main ring!!! Just wanted to share with yall my happiness lol

Where was it written that the ring was $20,000? A 2 carat princess cut can be bought for half the price. Also, if her and her finance want to spend a lot on the ring, more power to them. OP, congrats on finding the ring that you love (and can afford)

IMHO don't think it's anyone's business to ask about others' financial situations, or how they could or couldn't afford this or that.  She doesn't need to explain herself.Congrats, lginn!  It's so sweet that you both felt so emotional over the ring when you saw it.  Let us know how/when he officially proposes!

woooooooooooooooo guys the ring is definately not 20,000!!! it is more like 4,000!!!! And he has been saving this money up for my ring for a long time!!! Also I am almost 21 years old and will be graduating from college this year!! I dunno why yall wouldnt be happy for me! we have been together 4 years... ITs not shocking or anything. I am always happy for everyone else

Congrats, lginn. The way you worded your opening post I also thought you meant "a 2 carat princess cut" as the center stone. My eyes about popped out of my head.I also think it's sort of rude to comment on other people's finances, but it's the internet. People will comment on EVERYTHING, so the best advice I can give is get used to it and learn to be comfortable in your own skin.Young brides have it especially tough, not just here, but in life. I was engaged at 19, and I wondered why everybody was so harsh on me. Turned out, he wasn't the right guy. I was just being a dumb little girl.Best of luck to you and your future FI.

Wow where did you find a 2karat ring for 4,000!!?  I want to go there for my wedding band! lol  I'm pretty sure my e-ring was around 3,000 & its 1 karat.  But I saw a prong setting wedding band I liked which was 1 karat also & I LOVED it, just want to fit it into my prospective price range (not sure what that'll be yet!).  But CONGRATS on finding your ring!  I LOVE princess cut!  Mine is princess too :-)  Here is a picture of mine: <img src="[IMG]http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q143/Cristalia117/RING-1.jpg[/IMG]">

lginn don't feel like you're the only young bride who's getting engaged with an amazing person & an amazing ring! I'm also 21 (well b-day tomorrow whoo whoo) & my BF has been paying off my ring since January. It's worth $5500 but they sold it to us for $3800. I'm in school graduating this year & he's already graduated forever ago haha. I'm very happy for you & like OP said it's just a matter of time before he asks u the question. Try to be patient (trust me it's hard) & we hope to hear your engagement story. Please don't stop posting b/c of other ppl's comments, some advice u like & some u don't. It's up to you to decide which you will let affect you. Once again, CONGRATS!!!

post your pictures on a second website like photobucket, tinyurl etc.. anything that will give you a seperate url. make a [img]yourringurl.com[/img] if that doesn't show up it's [i*mg]your url[/*img] without the astrisks

Congrats! I was a little sticker-shocked at 2ct. as well because I thought it was just the center. That would be HUGE on my hand, but to each their own. Makes a lot more sense that it's total weight, and I'm glad you found the ring you love! I'm with Jeana. I don't like commenting on people's finances, but people on the boards will comment on anything and everything, so it's best to grow a thick skin. As for posting pictures, I always use TinyPic.com. Take a picture that's saved on your computer, upload it to the site, choose a size (they have one for email/message boards), copy the img code (I think it's the second one in the list they give you), and paste it in the text box. Should work!

WE all know this is the happiest time in all of our lives. So why wouldnt you be happy for everyone on here. We are all in the same boat, waiting for the ring. So I know I am personally happy for everyone on here who is close to getting there ring and there promise to be with there best friend forever... I dunno who wouldnt be happy for everyone who has found that perfect person to spend the rest of there life with. This is happy time in my life and my future Fi life and noone is going to rain on our parade haha

Also, to the person who said you can get the same thing for $10k, I'd like to see that set. For just the diamond, with a good square shape/ratio, H color, VS2 clarity, at just under 2 carats, with a very good cut is between $13k and $20k. Throw in diamond side stones and two diamond bands, yeah good luck. For a stone that size, it'd be pretty risky getting anything less than VS2. You might be able to find a good looking SI1 with the inclusions in places that you can cover with the prongs, even then, that's a $10k diamond. In response to the comments above, I thought that the OP meant 2carats total, which can be purchased for around $10,000. In general: Even in this recession, there are still people with money. If someone's bf wants to spend a lot of money on the ring, that is his business. It seems that girls with large and more expensive rings receive nasty comments. A while ago there was a poster here named futuremrs.ray. She was sweet as pie and yet it seemed that she was always receiving comments about her ring. It's ridiculous. Live and let live.
