This is actually really hard, my family changes it up all the time and there are so many good dishes that I know. However, you can beat the traditional turkey, dressing, potatoes.... mmmmm

This is a tough one. Prob my Uggs last year from BF cause I thought my parents were getting me them, and I didn't see BF til nighttime, so I thought I wasn't going to get them at all, but I did. (He had said he's never buy them because he doesn't like them.)

Any holiday plans you're excited for?
I think BF and I are going to do the Holidays together this year! First time, we usually just get together at night.

Tell me a cute holiday story:
A few years ago my little cousins who were about 2 got stuffed sock monkeys from my grandma. One of them pulls the monkey out and looked at it. He said so seriously "I don't even like monkeys!" and slammed the monkey down on the ground. My aunt goes, "well that's too bad." Now whenever I see the sock monkeys I laugh!

When my siblings and I were younger our parents used to drive us around to look at the Christmas lights in town. When there was an undecorated house my little brother (who had a lisp b/c he lost his 4 front teeth in an accident) would shout "decorate you house! It's Christmas!" So stinkin' cute!

Best gift you've ever received? When I was eight or something...I received an American Girl Doll, best gift ever. Thanks, Grandma!

Any holiday plans you're excited for?No. I wish I could spend the holidays with BF then I could have something to look forward to. I really can't stand being cooped up in the house with my extended family.

My dad used to use a ladder to climb up onto the roof and jingle bells up there.  My mom would then tell us that we were hearing the reindeer harnesses jingling, and we'd better go to sleep because Santa wouldn't come if he knew we were awake.

When I was 5 I used to get to open 1 present and then pick one under the tree for someone else. Well my dad never wrote on his presents who they were for.. so he gave me a gift thinking it was for me and it ended up being a pair of leggings for my mom. But being 5 I thought it was the best gift even if I couldn't use it and I sat on them the whole day so no one could take them away. My parents had to wait until I was asleep to get them back.

I think the one that meant the most to me was a snowboarding jacket.  For some reason that one made me really excited.  Though as a kid the light bright I got was most excellent.

I think getting to spend x-mas morning with my significant other as his fiance.

This one was two years ago on x-mas when my niece was just a few months old her first christmas, they placed her under the christmas tree for pictures and that was around the same time that we just got a puppy so the puppy and my niece are under the tree laying next to each other and the image was so freaking adorable that its making me emotionally as I think about it.  Hahaha...

My dad has 20ft+ cielings in his house and so every year it is tradition that we go and cut down a huge 18ft+ tree.  The first year we did this our tree was too heavy for the stand and it fell over three different times!  SInce then we have had a wrought iron stand made for our huge tree

She really didn't keep it. She isn't around much so I have no idea what happened to it! She got rid of my baby blanket too :(

LOVE friends.  I still catch myself watching re-runs on TV sometimes, even though I own the whole series.

I can't pick one, are you crazy?! I love Halloween and Valentine's Day, in addition to Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm also part Jewish, so I light candles for Chanukah, too, which I started a couple years ago. I've never formally celebrated the Jewish High Holidays, but I note them when they come along. I like the way the Jewish faith interprets the meaning of a New Year.

This is the how-my-parents-met story. My mom is a professional musician and was playing for an Xmas eve service at the church where my dad's family went. When the service was over, she was packing up and trying to turn off her stand light. The switch was broken, so she had to unscrew the lightbulb to turn it off. It was really hot, and my dad, sitting nearby, noticed she was having some issues making contact with the bulb, so he leaned over and unscrewed it for her. They started talking and he asked her to a New Year's Eve party some of his friends were having. It was their first date and first kiss at midnight. Awww.

When do you start shopping for gifts?

I'm all done with gifts  I convinced the family to go with an ornament exchange this year and spent a weekend in October in Leavonworth at the ornament store.

Best gift you've ever received?

I did an Ironman in 2008 and got a really nice bike trainer for Christmas in 2007 that made all the difference in my training.  It was a gift from my entire family.

Any holiday plans you're excited for?

BF and I are traveling to Denver for Thanksgiving to meet his entire extended family!  My parents decided to come into town as well, I'm looking forward to the family fun!

My grandmother regifted her AARP personal alarm keychain/flashlight to me and my sister.  She spent a good 10 minutes explaining how we could use them if we were in danger, including a demonstration of how we could turn it on, then throw it off to the side while we run away.  "The rapist won't know whether or not to chase you or the alarm!"  She was SOOOO proud of those, and 5 years later, I wish we had kept them.

This is a Christmasy Halloween story:

When I was in NB visiting my friends for Halloween their little girl (N, who is 2) was so excited that I was there AND it was Halloween.  She grabbed my hand the minute I walked in the door and was like "PAIGE! PAIGE! HALLOWEEN PAIGE!!"  She dragged me to her room and showed me her costume...a bumble bee!!  That evening we sent her to her grandma's (so the adults could drink!) and when we woke up in the morning it had snowed.  She called us from Nana's to tell us that it snowed!   She told her Nanny when she woke up: "OH MY GOD NANNY! SNOW! It's Christmas!! Good job on snow Nanny!"  Then called us and told us "Mommy, Paige...you make snow! Good Christmas!"  My heart just about melted!!

Eating at my mom's for Thanksgiving.  Last year we went to FI's aunts and she bought everything from AJ's and it was pretty gross.  My mom actually makes everything from scratch for Thanksgiving

When we were little, we'd wake my parents up at like 4 or 5 in the morning to open presents (after they had been up all night wrapping and putting the presents under the tree to make us think Santa came).  So one year, my mom put the ocsillating fan in the middle of the hallway and taped to create a barrier with a sign that said "Do not cross this line until 7AM"  We actually listened and slept in the hallway until 7.  LOL.

Any holiday plans you're excited for?
We're spending a weekend in Disneyworld with rickylee...I can't wait to see Disney all decked out for Christmas.

Tell me a cute holiday story:
We had told our parents and siblings the night we got engaged, but we waited to tell everyone else when we were home. My one cousin (about 13 yrs old) couldn't wait for us to get engaged, so I was pretty excited to tell her. I pulled her aside and told her, "FI got me an early Christmas gift, you want to see it?". I didn't even get a chance to show her the ring - she tackled me with a hug and knocked me over and started giggling. Yep, she was pretty excited.

I've met his parents and one aunt/uncle/cousins combo. . . but his family is HUGE (he tells me there are ~70 people that come to Christmas eve dinner) so I'm excited/nervous to meet them all!

CHRISTMAS!!! Hehe.

Turkey, stuffing, gravy, turnip, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, french beans, rolls, and festive desserts.

Are we talking wine or colour here? White wine, red colour.

Uhh...regular? The minty ones. I hate those damn fruity ones. Eww  

Best holiday movie?

Hmm...never really been into the holiday movies. Really. I watch them all, but don't have a favourite.

When do you start shopping for gifts?

Usually not until well into December. It's bad. 

Best gift you've ever received?

The ring from BF 2 years ago. I was so surprised, and he was so excited to give it to me. He actually gave it to me the day he got it - December 21 - and I had it resized and was wearing it by Christmas Eve. As a kid, I was most excited about the Beanie Baby bear Curly, and the Furby. Doesn't take much to please me.

Any holiday plans you're excited for?

Hmm...none in particular. I love it all! I'm most excited about having our own Christmas tree this year and starting our own Christmas traditions for our family of 2, but that's not really a plan, more of a thing.

Hmm...I guess the year my Dad made us the dollhouse was pretty wicked. He worked away on this thing for weeks and we weren't allowed to go into his workshop, so we knew he was doing something awesome. In the morning, we were forbidden to go downstairs without our parents, but I totally snuck a peek when I woke up around 5. It was seriously so exciting (for everybody, including my Dad! We used that house for years.
