[QUOTE] Hmm...I guess the year my Dad made us the dollhouse was pretty wicked. He worked away on this thing for weeks and we weren't allowed to go into his workshop, so we knew he was doing something awesome. In the morning, we were forbidden to go downstairs without our parents, but I totally snuck a peek when I woke up around 5. It was seriously so exciting (for everybody, including my Dad! We used that house for years.

<div>My dad made us a doll house one year as well.  My parents still have it at their place.  He was SO proud of that thing, especially the roof that he shingled!  I feel bad that we only played with it for a few years before we grew out of the doll house phase.  I think they're hanging on to it so that they can give it to my niece in a few years.</div><div>
</div><div>And LOL at the sneaking downstairs without parents, we did that the year we got the doll house as well!</div>

What's your favourite holiday? (There IS a right answer to this!)
    Christmas!

What's the best holiday meal menu?
I'm veggie and I usually end up bringing my own dishes to dinner- last year for Christmas was pasta with an artichoke creamy sauce, I can't remember Thanksgiving.

    Red or White?
    Red

Favourite flavour of candy canes? (Canadian spelling thank youuuu)
I like Canadians. Peppermint for me!

    Best holiday movie?
    Elf.

When do you start shopping for gifts?
I already have, about a month ago.

    Best gift you've ever received?
Well, I shouldn't know this, but my mom got me a kitchen aid mixer this year!! I'd have to say that wins. :D (My mom and dad have been married for 30+ years and buy separate gifts for me.. weird, I know).

Any holiday plans you're excited for?
Each year, on both sides of BF's family they have a get together for Christmas and have secret santas!

Tell me a cute holiday story:
It's not a cute story, but each year for the past 6-7 years my parents have had a holiday party at their house. They have very high ceilings and have a 15' tree each year, but the talk of the party is actually when my father burns a motorcycle outside in their fire pit (It's a long story to do with the hells angels.. welcome to the sticks!).

What's your favourite holiday? (There IS a right answer to this!)
    Christmas. Followed by Easter.

What's the best holiday meal menu?
Stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, bread, and cranberry sauce. I don't eat turkey.

    Red or White?
Red. Unless you're talking wine, then none.

Favourite flavour of candy canes? (Canadian spelling thank youuuu)
Fruity! There used to be LifeSaver candy canes (maybe there still are).

    Best holiday movie?
    A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Also, since I missed Oceana's list the other day, I wanted to call my favorite music: "Jesus What a Wonderful Child" by Mariah Carey.

When do you start shopping for gifts?
November. I actually already ordered something for FI. I'm always paranoid they'll be out of stock if I don't get it now.

    Best gift you've ever received?
    Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine

Any holiday plans you're excited for?
Going to visit my grandma in Seattle. FI is coming, too.

What's your favourite holiday? (There IS a right answer to this!)
    Christmas

What's the best holiday meal menu?
When I was growing up, we would have a roast chicken, mashed potatoes and pepperoni bread for dinner with pie for dessert, but my brother is also a Christmas baby, so for lunch we had whatever he wanted to eat and birthday cake for dessert.  The past few years my mom has started making her yummy potato soup and serving it in bread bowls for dinner.

    Red or White?
Well, my wedding colors are navy blue, red and white, so obviously I can't decide between the two

Favourite flavour of candy canes? (Canadian spelling thank youuuu)
    cinnamon

    Best holiday movie?
Miracle on 34th Street and White Christmas

When do you start shopping for gifts?
I think I started in June this year, almost done, actually.

    Best gift you've ever received?
The Christmas I was 12 years old, I got my very own phone with my own line (I was the 1st of all my friends to have their own line).  Oh, for all you younguns...way back in the old days, phones were rather large and had these cords sticking out of them that plugged into the wall.  I know, it's a really odd concept to most of you, but I loved my phoneWink

Any holiday plans you're excited for?
Nothing specific, just spending time with family and friends

Tell me a cute holiday story:
Last year, my brother and nephew came to visit for Thanksgiving (my brother could only get time off for Thanksgiving), so my mom had my nephew help her decorate the tree the day after Thanksgiving and that night we had an early Christmas.  My nephew was 4 at the time.  He decided we were all taking too long to open gifts, so he "helped" each of us and got so excited when he saw the gifts and had to tell each of us what the gift was and that he picked it out.  He was too cute.

How could I have forgotten to say "It's a Wonderful Life" under favorite holiday movie? I am such a sap. It makes me cry every year. :)
