S/O: Did NEY flame you?

Spin off from the "Lurking" post. When you were a newbie (or if you ARE a newbie), did you get flamed by the ladies here? By all means, vote in the poll... but tell the story, too!

Did you deserve it? Were you acting like a BSC loony woman? Did you get mad? Did you fight back? Are you glad it happened? Would you flame yourself if someone else posted the same thing?

I didn't get flamed when I first showed up here...actually, everyone was pretty nice on my first post. However, I'm by no means perfect. Close. :P

I admit it- I said that the girls here were meaner than people on video game forums. AND THEY THOUGHT IT WAS HILARIOUS. I was such a beebee, that totally made me mad.

I emailed the Knot moderators and complained about how a wedding forum could be so full of mean, nasty, hateful people and vowed that I would never use this forum again.

A couple of years later, I came back... and I knew what to expect. I think, secretly, I knew they were right. I really WAS actling like a tool (seriously, I don't even remember what my post was about, but I had just moved in with Josh and thought he'd magically propose right away, and he didn't..... sooooo.... meanies were right).

I don't think I've ever gotten flamed. I've gotten into some disagreements with some of the girls on the boards but I don't remember ever getting flamed on the boards. But looking back at my very first post there were a lot of pretty young girls who responded who are gone now. I wonder where they all went...

I didn't get flamed for my initial posts, but I made some comments that bristled some people. Oh, well. I stand by what I say.

I had one BSC moment - FI and I had been looking at venues together a little bit before we got engaged. We knew we would have a short engagement and we would be planning long distance. While we were in town we looked at (what ended up being) our venue. Except - it was FULL/BOOKED.

Then my dad was on their website exploring costs (after FI talked to him and my mom - this was unknown to me) and they had an OPENING.

I really wanted to put a deposit on the date because it was the PERFECT TIME. BUT, this was during our "no wedding talk" phase and I didn't want to bring it up. Basically I wanted to put a deposit down to have it as an option but not tell him. I can't believe I didn't get slammed.


(And actually, on a BSC move, my parents put the deposit down that week without telling me. They told us a week after we got engaged that if we wanted it, it was ours. We were stoked!!)

I think it was my second post here that I got ripped a brand new one, that was the first time I encountered Salt. I totally deserved it I was completely BSC and unfortunately drunk at the time of my posting.

I think the reason I didn't get flamed is b/c I piggybacked on Loopy's intro thread and she didn't say anything BSC and neither did I. I remember it mostly as, Hi, I'm new, been with BF x amount of time.

Well, that and I'm just full of logic and reason.

You guys should have totally flammed me but didn't.  I actually said "future fiance" in my opening post.  But, somehow the entire thread thankfully turned into everyones favorite drink.

I didn't really get flamed here per se. Sapphire just told me what was up. I would flame me though. I got flamed on E though, but that's b\c I told them to suck it. Might have been my fault.... Maybe.

I didn't get flamed in my original post. I don't even remember what I said, but I'm guessing it was nothing exciting. :P

I did get into a small disagreement later with someone, but it wasn't big and I don't really remember that much about it either. I am boring :P

Edit: I just looked up my first post. As suspected it was boring. But for some reason the formating is all screwed up and I'm tempted to go back and edit the thing />.>

I got kind of flamed in my first post.  I still blush when I think about it. I was so silly.  I changed my screenname and came back and was sane.

Hetshup and PandaBurr stood up for me. (<3 you guys) And I kind of stood up for myself. I snarked right back.

Yeah but it wasn't so bad.  I had posted a little bit but the first wedding related post I posted I was just told to calm the eff down.  The one thing that made me go a little BSC was when AFSB C&Pd my sig pic and started a thread about how weird I looked.

I didn't get flamed but I never did an intro post. I was pretty much how I am now. I posted responses to other threads but didn't really start my own. I did have a BSC period IRL but didn't really post about it. I was SO ready to get engaged it was driving me nuts!!!

I lurked for a bit and tried my hardest not to get flamed in my intro. I think maybe 4 people said welcome and I was bummed.

I had lurked a bit and tried my best to not get flamed. However, I don't always communicate the best in writing and was caught a little offguard by some of the responses. I knew I wasn't completely BSC, but I will admit to moments and being here has straightened me out for the better

I'm pretty sure NQB, Mutley, Panda, Noelle and I have been around forever, and Jeana for quite a while too.  We're probably the "old as dirt" club.

I've never been flamed.  I did have some people make comments about me being a know-it-all because I get bored and Google BSC people, but meh, they're not on the board anymore.  I tend to keep my BSC moments to myself when I have them (it's rare) and just work it out with FI.  You know, like we tell most of the BSC posters on here to do when they bring us their BSC issues.

I didn't get flamed by anyone here BUT I went to E (bad choice, Paige, bad choice) and jumped in a thing about "firing a BM".  I told them a story about my friend wanting to do it (but she never did/or would) and got eaten alive.  I had the common sense to tell them I was simply relaying a story and not advocating for it...and they let me live.  So I ran back here to safety.

I don't remember getting flamed, but then again my first post was asking about how I could talk to my parents about the idea of then BF (now FI) getting married.
