[QUOTE]Well,  Politics is like candy to me- BF sometimes ask me these really random political questions because he says he likes to see me get all excited over it. I don't even need to be debating, I even like explaining things to people. And I get so frustrated when people tell me that "politics is boring" and doesn't apply to them- SO not true! Politics really does cover so many different topics.

Dude!!  FBD loves picking my brain about politics - he says it's really interesting (and sometimes hilarious) when I get myself all worked up about a topic. ....which happens a lot.

I love comic books and graphic novels. I read Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" series (10 books) in about a month. I'm a HUGE Batman fan; I'm currently reading the "Return of Bruce Wayne" storyline.

    I'm obsessed with Harry Potter.

My biggest nerdy thing is, I play RPG's. I play Savage Worlds, which is very similar to Dungeons and Dragons except a lot less rigid and you have a lot of freedom as to setting and characters and situations. The game that we just started is an apocalyptic WW2 in which we battle Nazi zombies. My character is the Jewish madam of a brothel where the prostitutes are trained to assassinate Nazi officers. Her Bowie knife does Strength + 10 damage. I am hardcore.

I get excited about bugs and plants.  I love reading academic articles about them.  I love figuring out what plants/bugs/rocks I see when my friends and I go camping.

At work, my friend and I decided that we could recreated the nativity using insects.  The wisemen would be orthops, Santa would be a massive scarab, reighndeer would be weevils...I can't remember what baby Jesus would have been.  .....I just realized that we incorporated santa and his reindeer into our nativity! Goodness!

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Nerdy tendencies : When the first movie was released (I was 16), I swore up and down that I wasn't going to watch the movies because I was afraid they would change my perception of the books.  I could picture everything so clearly, and I knew that the movies wouldn't match my vision... Yeah... I held out for a week after Sorcerer's Stone was released before I went to the theater to see it.  LOL.  At the end of the day, I simply found it interesting to see another person's view of the books.  I find that when I read the books even today, I still picture everything the way I did when I first read them.

When I first would watch the movies I kept saying, "That's not in the book" or "That's not how it happened..." I have those books memoriezed I've read them so many times!

Wow, we are all a bunch of nerds.

    - I have a masters in biochemistry and microbiology.

    - To get that masters, I played with E coli for 2.5 years.

    - I'm currently reading a Child Development TEXTBOOK because I don't understand the little children I tutor in math.

    - I tutor little children (through adults, actually...K-adult) in all sorts of math in my "spare time".  I'm amazing at tutoring for tests I haven't even taken (like the GMAT) but I stink at teaching the little ones how to count.  Hence the Child Development text.

    - I plan on arranging a study plan and tutoring the boyfriend for the FE (the fundamentals of engineering exam.)  I'm fully confident that I can learn the material that I never took in college to a sufficient degree to review it with him.  I'm TOTALLY psyched about this (he thinks I'm crazy)

    - On that note, I love taking standardized tests.  I always have extra time left and use it to figure out how the test makers got the "wrong" answers.  I'm a nerd.

    - I have an uncanny ability to remember numbers.  And yes, now I know the boyfriend's SSN because I did his taxes.  I used to know the ex's too, but luckily, I've forgotten that.

    - I read approximately 4-8 books a month.  And if I don't like a book, I finish it just so I don't have to spend money on a "new" book sooner.  I also try not to buy books that are less than 200 or so pages because I can finish them in 2-3 days.
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
