    people do seem a lot nicer here.  I am in the not engaged camp, but wedding stuff is super fun and all my girlies are getting hitched so I've totally caught the bug.  where you getting hitched?

    We haven't picked a venue yet. Still have a while to plan. Probably our church though because it's really old and gorgeous and I can just see the photos we could take in my head. Awesome.

    And yes. Wedding stuff makes me happy too :)

    I am not engaged as of yet, but then again, it would be difficult for my BF to propose from the otherside of the country. I am patiently (or maybe not so pateintly) waiting. I am here because it helps relieve my insesient need to micomanage the future by using this as an outlet and not pestering him (although he says he enjoys it...). But thats my story

    chipymoney, i totally feel you.  bf anf i have been together 7.5 years and i don't want to drive him nuts with the wedding talk (or make him feel at all pressured)...so this is a glorious outlet.  here here!

    Not engaged - we have been together 6.5 years and living together for one. Enjoying the conversations on the board and not in a rush to get engaged - but certainly can get a little envious of others though who are at that stage!

    Boyfriend and I are not engaged. Basically, we have a target month/year, and a venue (which we actually just contacted and arranged a visit) but the whole ring business won't happen until this coming Winter. 

    I spend way to much time on TK (more than you would think, looking at my number of posts) and it all started out as an attempt to curb my pre-engagement anxiety... lol

    I'm not engaged! :D

    BF says sometime this summer or at the beginning of next semester.  It's important that I graduate undergrad school first though, so I don't mind waiting.

    i know this is totally silly, but i'm kind of glad i'm not engaged at the same time as all my girlfriends...i feel as though some of them might feel as though they are getting lost in the shuffle (not that this is what matters AT ALL), but ya know- i can understand how they'd feel that way

    I started lurking here last summer and was NEY at that time. I thought the girls here were fun, so I started posting.

    FI proposed in November and our wedding is in July. :)

    You can lurk and find out the demographic. 

    I think that anyone who has caught the wedding bug but is glad that they aren't engaged so that they have more attention when the time comes is...

    i live in dc and many of my girlfriends that are in california are getting married.  it would be difficult to plan a wedding, that i might have in california, at the same time as a lot of our friends who would have to fly across country (as we all have a big friend group on either coast) at the same time.  i wasn't clear on this point.  please don't rush to judgement.  =)

    also, i think it is nice for each girl in the group to have their own special time (not just me)....one of our friends actually was going to propose on the same day as another did (valentine's day) and ended up postponing a few weeks so as to not take away her limelight...i thought that was cute and generous of spirit and i guess that's what i am getting at.  i want all my girls to have their special moments =)

    Engaged in December, wedding in August.


    I got engaged pretty much simultaneously timed with 4-5 other friends. I actually had a friend tell me how glad she was that she wasn't seriously dating anyone so that when "her time came" everyone could focus on her. Foot in mouth

    haha she's gonna be a handful for some poor guy! 
    are any of your girlfriends getting married right around your wedding timeframe?  do you have a lot of overlapping friends?  if you all live in the same area, it doesn't really matter- so that's nice. 

    when my friend's mom got engaged, she told one of her bridesmaids that she had just booked the perfect wedding spot...the bridesmaid was also engaged and went right out and booked the same venue with the same group of friends exactly one week prior to my friend's mom's date!!

    I am NEY, internationally long-distancely committed to my PsyD-pursuing BF. Logistics have a lot to do with our current status, we've got a lot of tricky little streams to ford to make this togetherness thing work, but we'll get there.

    NEY for now. Been together almost three years. Hopefully some things about out living situation will be figured out soon and we can restart thinking about getting engaged.

    Got engaged in november , but won't be getting married until may 15th 2011. We both wanted a long engagement to plan things out our way and so far it's going great. Venue/caterer, photographer , florist already done :)
