The day my fiance and I were engaged his mother approached me and said "He is my only son and he will be getting married in a church." A Catholic church at that (even though she's not a real Catholic). My fiance and I are not religous by any means and won't pretend to be. Every one tells me that we should have the ceremony in a nondenominational church. On my wedding day I don't want to listen to a priest, pastor, or minister tell me how God blesses our relationship. I am not against those who are religious at all, it's just not what I believe in. My future mother-in-law will be helping with the costs but insists that we get married in a church. How do I let her know, without hurting her feelings or losing the financial support, that I don't want to get married in a church?
