[QUOTE]Yay, lots of exciting stuff going on! Congrats on the 8K, Peek!  I was a little terrified because I'm running my first 5K supposedly on my birthday (aka rdr's wedding date!) and I know nothing about what you were talking about with the shoes, BUT I did buy some sweet Merrell running shoes that are treating me very well so far in the training.  No one's ever heard of Merrell, but they're awesome.  In my ya know, nonprofessional opinion. mhollister, so excited you found a venue!  I didn't notice a ticker up yet, lol.  You said October/November of this year, right?  That's so exciting!  We have two more venues to look at this Friday (obviously, we only look at venues when FI can flex time off work, haha) and then we're determined to make a decision.  We were SO overwhelmed about this decision on Friday though.  So hopefully we can finish that up smoothly. As for my weekend: Friday, we looked at venues.  Overwhelmed as we liked both of them but they're both inconvenient (nowhere near hotels) for our guests, so they're not really going to work.  Even with a shuttle, it's a 15 minute drive so the shuttle wouldn't be very helpful. Saturday, we ran our last day of week 2 of C25K.  I did a lot better breathing than I did last week (I'm allergic to leaf mold, so as soon as I go outside, my nose forgets to breathe.  Not helpful when you're running.)  I took my allergy meds a bit earlier than I had last week, so hopefully that's all I had to change.  Then we went golfing.  I stunk and got like 3 over on every hole.  Sunday, we cleaned the yard - picking up sticks, raking up old leaves we left there at the end of fall, etc.  We've had a LOT of wind storms lately, so we had a lot of sticks down.  We also prepared the garden for spring (or started to.)  We still have to start our tomatos, which we'll do sometime this week (once we get some dirt)

I have no idea how to put one of those tickers on here lol. I'm going to try and see if it works. Yes, we set a date for November 23rd which gives us a little more time to plan which makes us happy haha. I was so stressed before finding out venue also. All I wanted was just to have that confirmation of a date. One of our venues was really out of way of hotels as well and it was in the mountains so we didn't want our guests potentially getting lost in the mountains lol. That would not be good. You will find one though that's perfect for you and your FI.

<div>You'll learn if you keep running.  Basically, my left foot turns funny while I'm running.  Most people apparently overpronate, so they make shoes with extra stability to correct it.  Mine does the opposite on one foot, and exactly what it's supposed to do on my right foot.  I'm about to head up to the running store and try again for new shoes. </div>

Coco- You should send some of that warm weather up to SD! It's 9 degrees out right now. :(

Tarra- That doesn't sound fun. Good luck!

Hollister- Do you have pictures? The venue sounds really pretty. :)

I won't lie, I'm pretty jealous of all your weekends.
Frieday: Early in the morning my dad told FI and I that we should probably make the 12hr drive back that day because a snow storm was going to hit that night. So rushed through packing that morning, loaded the car and said goodbyes. Met with our officiant and set up a rough outline of the ceremony over lunch then headed out of town. The drive from hell included me getting sick, hydroplaning a couple times on submerged highways, and getting in to FI's parent's house at almost 4am (13hr drive if you minus time change).

Saturday: We slept in till 2pm! I haven't ever slept in that late! 0-0 I ended up watching almost a whole season of "I didn't know I was pregnant." But both my FBILs ended up watching it with me so that was kind of fun. Then we ended up playing board games with FI's whole family. My tummy still didn't like me but let me eat crackers at least.

Sunday: Had church, did taxes, drove back home, started work on my paper, had soup, and slept. So exciting.

Now I'm still jet legged but at least my stomach is letting me eat again. :)

Edit: Sunday FMIL told me she wants to have a second "reception" up in SD about a month after the wedding for all FI's older relatives and those too cheap to want to travel. This I can understand, but then she went on to say she wants to open invite both churches she attends (500+ people). -_-* I do NOT want to plan that.

I'm just glad that Christoph Waltz won again. He's an absolutely AMAZING actor. After you watch Inglourious Basterds, you'll have your mind blown. He was such a good guy in Django and such an amazingly horrible villain in Basterds.

  • Sounds like everyone's had a great weekend!

On Friday, I finally cleaned my apartment. It needed it sooo bad. I put together new shelves for our kitchen and got counters cleaned off so I have some actual work space to cook with.

Saturday I went to work expecting to teach a class, but no one showed, so I cleaned our youth room and unpacked from our trip 5 months ago.

THEN, FI and I went to the Rodeo. OMG I love the Rodeo. I ate: a fresh cheeseburger (nom), roasted corn, a fried brownie, fried alligator (tasty!), a BBQ baked potato, a caramel apple, and a funnel cake. I wanted to eat a corn dog, but I was stuffed. This week is the last week the rodeo's here, so I hope I get to go to the fair part at least one more time. When I was growing up, we were never allowed to eat the fair food bc the lines were too long and my parents thought it was a waste of time. We always got a funnel cake though. The actual rodeo was really fun too. It was a shootout between the best cowboys/cowgirls in the nation. We got to see some neat stuff. And then the Band Perry performed. Woo!

I passed out Saturday night and overslept Sunday, missing work entirely. That sucked.

  • I always feel weird jumping in when a thread has gotten this long, but what the hell.

I had to work both Saturday and Sunday, so my weekend wasn't too exciting.  We went out to eat Friday with some friends, and then H found out that his best friend was in New Orleans for a wedding, so we drove down Saturday after I left work and spent the night there.  The city was a madhouse.  St. Patrick's day festivities have already begun, so the French Quarter was packed.  Still, we got to eat a good dinner and have drinks with some old friends, so it was fun.
