Time is flying.  We're no longer doing the balloon thing.  FI's mom really wants to see him get married, so we're probably just going to do it at the courthouse.  All we really have left to do is get the marriage license now and book the honeymoon.

BF told me last night that he's ready to start planning our wedding.

My response was a line stolen from another knottie, "Did I miss the part where we got engaged?" 

We're still on the same page, he was just having a horse/cart moment.

So, I'm still unengaged.  No updates, other than I think I have talked him into the cheaper of the two rings that we looked at.

Started to look at vendors and post over on the Hawaii board, tried a couple of times to convince FI into elopement.  Failed several times, though the last one he paused for a second then said no, I take that pause as a hopefully sign that he's considering.  There's an unspoken agreement between Sunbird and I that she's making my STDs and the flower for my hair along with my bridal jewelry.  FI though is more preoccupied with finding a house than a wedding, priorities priorities...

The more I think about it, the more I really, really, really, really do not want to have a big wedding. I mean, I have a mental breakdown when someone tries to throw me a birthday party, how the f*ck am I going to plan a wedding?

As it stands right now, I'm highly doubtful we're going to have the wedding we want because there's no money. Even if I get a job tomorrow, we will probably not have enough saved by the time we want to get married. So now we're faced with not even getting married on the date we want.

Basically, I'm freaking out.

Am I the only engaged (which I read as engage-ed) not planning a damn thing? lol.

We want a house first before we plan. We have found the house we want, we're just waiting for the owner to put it up. It's a famliy friend and he's going to let us know asap but it probably won't be until fall. It lines up right behind my grandma's house but both houses have 1/2 acre lots so we won't be on top of eachother.

ETA: I've been engaged for exactly 8 months today. That was a holy crap moment.

Hey Oceana!! That's sooo soon!! I know you will have an awesome wedding.  Can't wait to see pictahs.  I have basically everything set for my wedding...Booked the photog, got my dress, the officiant, and the bouqet.  I am going to start getting the decorations soon when my BFF comes to visit in March.  Other than that, everything is pretty much done!

I feel like my engagement so far (ya know, the whole month it's been) is really dragging.  That's probably because my mom got me all excited to make plans, and I spent days researching venues, browsing dresses, etc., and then had a reality check and realized that it's waaay to soon to make decisions.

Now I just don't know what to do with myself.

But that's enough complaining on somebody else's thread.

Haha yeah, I really want to go try on the Pronovias dress I'm in love with, but I'm forcing myself to wait a while.

I did print off a picture of it that I now tape to the treadmill every time I work out.  It's a great motivational tool.  I'm like the mule with the carrot...

AW'd my DIY flower girl basket
ordered my dress
booked a DJ (just squeaked that in to meet our January to-do)
bought FI's ring
2 out of 3 BMs have picked their dresses, but they just have to order by April 15
ordered a ton of shoes. I'm sending the first pair back today. Three more pairs are arriving today!

We need to reschedule our food tasting (venue had to change tasting dates on us) and start the paperwork that will allow FI's brother to officiate. Oh, and maybe a florist would be good, too.

I don't want to plan this wedding AGAIN, and seriously want to elope. I've been feeling so much happier without planning this wedding. It was so stressful. Now that I don't need to plan anyhing right now, I dont' want to start. We may just do a courthouse dealio.  I have just been SO much happier without the stress of wedding planning. I don't want to bring it back into my life if I can help it. FI want a wedding. So we'll see. It's been a cause of conflict of as recently.
