I'm totally going into hyper mode now...25 days to go for me!

Down to all the little things, really.  My parents are buying the m&ms, peanut butter cups and starlight mints for the favors today, so I'll have to do now is put the stickers on the peanut butter cups and tie the mints onto to the mint cards.

Picked my dress up on Friday and it's now hanging in my parent's spare room, have my shoes and found white slippers to wear during the reception.  3 of my BMs have their dresses, the 4th is going shopping this weekend, I'm told (not worried about her finding anything, her mom can totally whip something up overnight if she has any trouble and it will look beautiful).

I have my something old (my grandma's engagement ring that she had made into a necklace for me, a handkerchief that belonged to the same grandma's mom and another handkerchief that belonged to my mom's great-grandma that my mom carried on her wedding day); something new (my dress and a bracelet on the other wrist that someone made for me after they saw a picture of my dress); something borrowed (the bracelet that one of my bridesmaids wore in her wedding almost exactly 2 years before my wedding) and my something blue (the insoles of my shoes and the ribbon and some of the flowers in my bouquet).

All I really have left to do now is try to stay calmWink

BF asked last week if I would mind a long engagement while we figured out our housing situation, then said 2011 wasn't out of the question... so I'm thinking the engagement could be in the next month or so.

I still love coming home to him every day, so whether he's BF, FI or DH, I'm just happy to have him in my life :)
I'm kind of in love with courthouse weddings right now. A lot of brides knock them, but they have the potential to be just as classy and gorgeous as the big fancy shindigs. Where's Noelle? I wanted to steal her wedding like nobody's business... :)Posted by oceana919
Awww... this give's ME the warm fuzzies like nobody's business.  Thanks hun!

And OMG.... 2 months!  Where did the time go?!?!  But your wedding is going to be gorgeous, and I can't wait to see pics :-)

We've picked a date, booked a venue and a photographer. I'm swinging back and forth between wanting to plan every little thing and wanting to do nothing. I'm honestly a little scarred of the engagement slipping through my fingers.

But FI has been being super sweet lately, so that helps :)

    I know, I know...two months. Holy monkeyballs.

Good news is, we've got all the major stuff set. All our vendors are booked (just nailed down my last one - hair - last week). Got the menu set, cake set, major music selections (and most the reception playlist) planned out. Ordering the flowers tomorrow, and we got clearance from my venue to pop in early to put together centerpieces in the bridal suite for our friends to put out while we're doing pictures pre-ceremony (huge stress off my shoulders right there). I've got my hair/makeup trial on Friday...kind of excited to see the hair with the veil and jewelry on.

About 80% of my DIY is done - all I've got left is menu cards, programs, out-of-town welcome bags, and some random little odds and ends (photo charms for my bouquet, table numbers, etc.). My mom's coming in tomorrow for a week of DIY and shopping, so I should have some stuff to AW next week. I've added a bunch of stuff to the planning bio if you want something to hold you over.

The only downside is that things are just totally and utterly crazy. I'm working full time, taking a doctoral biochem DIS, and putting in full time hours in the lab working on my dissertation. I've got an abstract for a meeting in Nashville due on Tuesday, and I've got to finish and process at least five specimens for my research trip to Austria in three weeks. I'm trying to lose 25 lbs before the wedding (I'm 15 down, so good pace thus far), and (probably the lack of sleep and high stress levels combined) I'm literally catching every little bug that comes around. Throw in wedding planning and family drama (think WW3) and I've literally been running nonstop since Halloween. That's the only part of this whole wedding business that I'm regretting - overworking myself beyond what I should be. Thankfully, FI's awesome and I've got amazing buddies that have been helping with everything.

ps. FB is being an a-hole and won't let me download the video, so y'all will just have to live with some pictures :)

Favor Candy Buffet...with lots of blue fishes :)

    Seashell cupcakes...they were friggin delish.

Our "wishing well" - my mom had people write marriage/love advice and well-wishes on pieces of paper and had them put in a bottle...we're going to open it and read all the messages on our first anniversary.

My FMIL flew all the way from Denver for the shower. She's awesome :)

Bridal shower at a martini bar = my mom is the coolest mom EVAH!

Mutley, Oceana and Rickylee, basking in their uppity bitchiness... :)

Getting ready for my bachelorette shenanigans...the blondie is one of my bridesmaids :)

On our way downtown. And yes, there are two minors going to my bachelorette party. That's just how we roll.

(actually, my MOH made sure that my two cousin BMs could participate in the first half of the bach party...I'm so glad they got to go for part of it)

I'm saving the drunken shennanigan photos for the appropriate moment of blackmail. ;)

Looks like a blasty blast. It was so sweet (I mean...uppity and sneakily) for Mutley to surprise you. Your decorations we're awesome, I'm glad you decided to un-GBCK before you wedding!
