Wednesday Workout

I haven't done my workout yet, but wanted to start this in case anyone else has and wants to share and motivate me and everyone else! : )

I'm planning on doing Legs & Back from P90x and then I'll do abs afterwards.

I am feeling it in my arms today still. It's been forever since I've done pushups and pull ups. It feels good to feel the burn again though! : )

So what have you all done or what are you planning on doing today?
my legs are especially sore today, so I'm debating between trying another 30DS (I took yesterday off) or walking. I'm such a weenie.

Haha, well if you work through it, it usually gets easier. If you wait too long, it'll just be worse when you get back into it, lol. I know what you mean though. Legs & Back is the worst so I'm not going to want to do anything Thursday either, lol.
Also, this might seem silly but I saw something (on Pinterest maybe) about making yourself do 30 squats before any meal.  It's just another way to add a little something extra into the day.  I've been doing it on at least two meals a day for the past week.  It only takes a minute and I like that it's a little extra than my other workouts.
    Posted by flygirlmeg
That's actually a really good idea if you think about it. It probably also gets your body in the burning mode so when you eat you're actually burning calories or whatever. Hmm interesting.

I didn't manage to exercise yesterday. I ended up getting home late and going to my mom's for our family dinner. Naturally I drank nearly an entire bottle of wine and was not going to exercise at 10pm. I think I might do my step DVD tonight when I get home. I'd like to go for a walk, but FI is working late and my mom is leaving for TX in the morning so she probably won't be able to come over and watch the girls.
Legs & Back is killer!!  I hope it goes well for ya today.  Nothing in particular scheduled for today but I wanted to start adding more weights in so I've been doing the JM 30-day-shred workouts to add some of that in.  The workouts are short and fairly effective since they use a lot of combo moves so I like them.  I should add some P90X in there too . . . maybe in a couple weeks.

I think I eat too many "meals" to want to do that, lol, and I hate squats with a passion. It is a good idea though and I don't usually have much else to do if I'm waiting on something to warm up in the microwave or toaster, lol. I'll try to remember to give this a try!

  • I woke up at 4:40 this morning with a little bit of a headache. My calf has really been bothering me the past couple days, so I decided that today would be an off day. I'll still get five workouts in with Insanity tomorrow and Friday, and my half-marathon on Sunday, so I'm feeling prety good about things! I just need to make sure I eat healthy today, which might be tough since I left my lunch in the fridge at home. Oops!

I'd say you deserve a day off. I can't believe your half is here already! That stinks about forgetting your lunch. I've done that before and it's not much fun.

You'll definitely have to let us know how your half goes! : )

Any chance the girls could go for a walk with you? Even a short walk is sometimes worth it if it is relaxing. I don't know how relaxing it is to watch 2 girls, since I don't have kids, lol, but you never know.

My aunt does a step dvd, though, and loves it!

lol my little one is teeny tiny, I'd probably end up having to carry her since she won't sit still in a stroller or wagon. And my older DD is a little more independent. I might be able to figure something out. Worst case scenario I would just do my step DVD.

  • I have another training run tonight, just two miles (good things its tonight and not tomorrow- 5-8 inches of snow coming our way). My legs are still sore from my 3 miler on Monday with the new shoes and wind mix.

I try to incorporate squats, lunges and pushups at work in my office throughout the day to a. keep me awake, b. make me not feel so lazy for sitting on my butt 95% of my work day, and c. to keep the cals burning all day long.

Good morning ladies!  Pylo last night was pretty awesome.  Strangely enough I like pylometric work outs.  My calves are a little sore and where my legs meets my butt is also a bit sore but over all i'm good.  I think tonight is arms and shoulders.  I'll see how that pans out,  Currently trying to finish my protein shake.  Danish Man bought me a protein powder formulated for my needs versus his and boy does it taste worse than his usual shake.  But I can feel my sore muscles and it makes motivated to keep going.

Elannis thanks again for posting it keeps me accountable for working out because you ladies make me feel like a bum when I'm not being active.

ETA: What's legs and back like?  That's Fridays work out for me.

That sounds like fun. I'd get into something like that if it was cheap and I knew people who'd do it with me. I'm pretty antisocial IRL, lol, but I'm working on it.

I never realized how much I hate running in wind until I was training for my half last year. I run out in the country and all the fields were down so it was horrible. I probably looked ridiculous trying to run directly into 30 mph wind, lol. I'm fairly stubborn though.

Hmm, maybe you can just use them to help you exercise, attach one to each foot and walk around for a while, lay on your back and push the little one up in the air, etc. Lol, it'd be fun at least. I always get in a great workout when I play with my cousin's kids. It's not very structured, but fun! : ) The step dvd sounds good too though, lol.

  • I was thinking of doing Dance Central last night, but H was already home by the time I got home. Maybe I'll do that a bit tonight. I haven't tried 30DS in close to a year, though I have it. One of these days I should try it again.

I don't want to do too much tonight because I have 3.5 hours of dance tomorrow night. I'll walk to Target at lunch today, too.

My lower back has been hurting for the last two months, and I don't know why. That doesn't help my motivation, either.

Hopefully it'll just be something little and they can fix you up quickly. FI put off his bad back for forever until I finally convinced him to go and he ended up needing months of treatments starting at 3x a week. Now he's down to 1x a week, but occasionally needs to go in extra for a quick fix. So the sooner you take care of stuff like that, the better, IMO. Good luck! Let me know how it goes! : )

HRM says I burned about 360 calories in an hour, but my heart rate was already high since I've become addicted to energy drinks. Probably should stop that.
