I feel like complaining

I'm going to be working all weekend (including Monday) while my friends are getting drunk and sunburned, and I'm mostly ok with that.  I'm getting paid extra and I do need the money; plus, I have a couple mini-vacations over the summer, so I need to work when I can.

But today is supposed to be my day off, and instead of either (1) still being asleep or (2) enjoying a book poolside after a nice long run, I'm sitting in front of my computer attending a mandatory 6-HOUR webinar which, interesting enough, none of my coworkers appear to be on.  WTF?  Is it not mandatory after all?  I would just log out of it if I weren't afraid of getting in trouble later.

After getting virtually no sleep last night (it was mostly my fault for drinking a diet coke at 8 pm, but still...), I'm in no mood for this.  I feel like screaming or crying... or throwing my computer through the window.

On the plus side, the information being presented is pretty much useless, and I can easily kill 6 hours surfing the web anyway, so I'm trying to look at this as an opportunity to get paid for hanging out on NEY.  If I just weren't so darn tired...

    I'm complaining about my allergies.  If it weren't already bad that I'm asian and my friends make fun of me about my slant eyes I woke this morning with puffy eyelids!!!! I feel like I've been crying the night before and now can barely see.   Curse you allergies!!

    Stupid TK.  I just typed a response to this and it posted it on the wedding recap board.

    Anyway, I thought about doing just that, but they're asking us to "take notes".  I've just been taking screenshots of the slides to transcribe into notes later.

    Really, though, I doubt my boss will ever follow up with me on this.  She won't care about whether I have notes.  And nobody on the webinar so far has noticed that my video feed is off (I'm still lying in bed, so I turned it off).  I may just walk away from it and claim technical difficulties if anybody questions me.

    I work for a beer distributor, so this is a big weekend.  Today is a LONG tiring day trying to keep the stock up, and Monday will be bad trying to restock.
    So, i feel your pain.

    I've seen you talk about this before too. It is just the office that works on the holidays? Cause BF works for AB too, and they have Monday off. They only get the big holidays off (New years day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, Labor day, Memorial Day) but they at least get some off. Maybe the AB rules differ by state? He's a driver though not in the office.
